NEW PlayStation Pulse Elite Unboxing + Review! 

‘I wish they had more bass’. I initially said the same thing, but after consistently using them now for about a week, both for gaming, phone, music, watching movies, etc. I can safely say that I’m actually liking the fact that I’m not drowning in bass, I can hear more of the highs and mids that I was missing with other bass heavy headsets, and I had subwoofers installed in all my cars for 20+ years.

Do i need them, NO. Do i want them, YES!

I ordered this because of 1 feature. The ability to have both Bluetooth and the PS5 audio at the SAME EXACT TIME. The Xbox wireless headset does this too and its the reason I love that headset but obviously never had this option for Sony. Now you can listen to a podcast on youtube or whatever while playing a game on PS5 at the same time. Its a killer feature IMO.

Finding these to have impressive crisp and detail. Never heard anything like it before. Happy with them

I remember helping you test out one of the PS4 Gold Headset mic in party chat back in the day, hearing the clicks when you would turn it up/down through the mic slightly. Man time flies. These look awesome.

Being able to actually use the sound controls on ps5 sold me on it. It’s gonna be so much more convenient pressing the mute button on the controller, or using the edge to adjust the party mix and sound.

Owned these but ended up buying the pulse explore for overall comfort, so I returned them. Came across a pair on mercari for $50 great condition and I couldn't resist.

Great review. I actually used double sided tape and mounted it on the inside of my cabinet. If I did not have that I would buy a stand and fix it up or just wait for a 3rd party stand like you said.

Use a double-sided adhesive pad for the mount :-)

I love mine I have my industrial pierced almost a decade now and the pulses would make it super sore, these ones are so comfortable and can sit ontop of my head without giving a headache. Not to mention how good they sound and the AI technology built in! Cheers 🎉

Thanks for the review! They are Great value for money! I was worried I made a mistake with getting the Maxwell. I love bass in single player games and the Maxwell have plenty! seems like I would have been a little disappointed with the elites in that regard. I also hate “bright” headsets and other reviewers seem to mention the higher frequencies need knocking down a little, which is why I also sold my novas.

My own mounting solution until I can permanently place it is double sided 3M pull tape, it’s currently taped to the edge of my desk on the bottom. Right now I’m watching this video while using this headset on my phone, at work, eating lunch.

Great review Judner, why don't you use 3M command hanging strips for the Pulse elite hook for your existing headphones stand or to use anywhere ? Will Sony being updating the V1 pulse with the planar drivers or use them in future 1000XM flagship range.

Do you prefer this over Explore ? I found wearing the Explore is not as comfortable. Also very tricky to get a good sound. Any thought ?

I would definitely like to see a comparison between this and the Inzone H9. I love my H9 mainly because of how comfortable it is, but if the Elite is a clear upgrade I might have to consider switching.

I preordered these. Shame to hear there isn’t more bass. Honestly though, the battery life is worth the upgrade alone.

Its bigger brother, Audeze Maxwell, has a lot of deep bass and precision. On the pulse Elite, I think that it is a conjunction the Digital Signal Processing used by PlayStation on this headset (running) + the drivers for that specific headset. But the Maxwell is doubled the price.

I would love to see you compare these to not only the INZONE H9 but to the Audeze maxwell. Since the Pulse Elite are using planar drivers from Audeze(who Sony now owns) and the H9 are the same price as the Maxwell at 300$. It would we be an interesting Ven diagram of Sony gaming headphones. Also the Maxwell can do bass like a mofo so you might like em. They're not bass boosted but you can EQ to add more and even if you don't, on bassy tracks you really feel it.

I am so happy that they have softer, more comfortable ear foam because the last ones were hard and so uncomfortable for me, especially wearing think framed glasses

The only con that I'd give is the lack of a metal frame. The plastic frame is going to eventually get micro cracks that will eventually snap. The ear cup material looks like the kind that will crack up and peel. Listening to that 1 person in the lobby that is eating and drinking loudly... 🤣 I think it would make sense to do a comparison video with the Inzone headphones. Beside audio quality, another important aspect for me is the build quality. The materials used, how durable they are, etc.

Another huge selling point is LOSSLESS audio connection with the PlayStation link. Highest quality of audio from your audio source to your headset. As good or sometimes even better than wired.

I'm just attaching to the wall behind the TV with a no nails stick pad, get a good one and the headphones aren't heavy enough to pull it off should be fine and not putting a hole in my wall

The mic sounds pretty good.

Please can you test with PSVR2 to see if it still fits as well as the pulse 3d did? The pulse 3d helped keep the PSVR2 headset from falling down and fit snuggly on the head.

Is there a way to make the mic on the headset better? Not sure if it was just me, but it sounded quite a bit muddier than I'd like unless the noise cancellation can be turned off and increase the gain on the headset

They really messed up with not including in game chat mix. That said these have the most precise and best 3d audio of any headset I've used (arctis nova x and nova pro, astro a50 and a50x, Maxwells, arctis 7p, rig 800s, stealth 700 and stealth pro)

We need a top headset shootout, elites vs Maxwell vs nova pro vs Astro a50x light speed vs Logitech x2 vs stealth pro vs A-Rise. Maybe three categories, single player winner vs fps winner and best overall

do a comparison for the Sony elite and Sony h9. I was fortunate to get a 300 Best Buy gift card for Christmas so I need your thoughts.

Those are the best bang for the buck ! , got them for 2 weeks now and some is very very good , but Comfortability is amazing ! I am Replacing Corsair the one that cost 350+ and problem was the wifi adaptor does not reach anywhere but Pulse Elite are Reaching everywhere !!!, and they are much lighter then corsair , you can wear them all day you dont feel them :) I have Average Ear and they are all comfy in the hear muff :) And sound is good BUT Use a a mixer to have the sound to tour liking (peace Equalizer would do the trick) . Am Only using this on Pc because I have no Playstation 5 and not planning to have one ...But My only conserve is does the Elite have Firmware update also just like corsair ?! and if so I do I update the Firmware if I dont have a Playstation ?

Don’t use a screw, use that 3M tape that can stick to the wall without damaging your paint job. I forget what it’s called but they sell it in target.
