For those more curious about student life, at some of the uni’s you can join individual clubs and groups, which are great! They(in normal times) can organise things such as ‘sittningar’, which are like sit down dinners combined with parties. They usually have a theme of some kind and have traditional games played during the event, mostly themed around drinking, but alcohol is completely optional as you chose yourself what you want to drink. You do pay to get a seat at a sittning, and that fee covers the food and drink etc, and they aren’t often just for the members of the club/group organising them, so you can go to one even though you’re not a member.
Sanna Haydon no problems! I was part of a club in Borås and it was so much fun(even though I didn’t stay at the school and moved back home to sthlm 😂), so I felt like I could give a bit of an insight ☺️
Awesome video Sanna. I'm mayoring in master of science in engineering. My brain gets kind of numb after many hours of studying. But when i recover after a break or a good sleep i feel fresh and more potent then previews days/weeks. That's the kind of compensation i get when i study alot.
Fun to see my question got into the video, that really answered my question, thanks! I've just seen students being at location at night in the past, maybe it's different from city to city. Or maybe i'm just misremembering and it was just winter times and very dark out already at 5 pm 😂
Hi! I really appreciate the time and effort you put into making this video, for those of us who are looking into Studying in Sweden. You have helped me continue to get a better idea of what this might look like as an international student and I thank you for that. I did want to ask however, what's the average number of programmes one studies while in uni? In the states, generally we must get alot of useless credits, that have nothing to do with our degree out of the way first. Is it like this in Sweden as well, or are the programmes you apply for all that is necessary? Thank you once again for your input on this subject!
Hi, Bren! I'm not a student in Sweden (yet), but I study at a university in The Netherlands, and overall bachelor's or master's degrees in the EU are incredibly similar structure-wise, as is required by European law. As far as I know, most students in Sweden will (just like most other European university students) follow just one programme at a time. This programme should be seen as a bundle of required courses to get your degree, which means you don't need to follow any extra courses or get any extra credit to get that diploma. Hope this helps!
Is it just me or are Swedes just incredibly good at English that it's almost like they're native speakers? Also, how on earth are you this beautiful, greetings from Marocko!
It’s not just you!! They rarely dub their tv series and movies so they grow up listening to a lot of English and the country is mostly advanced/fluent in English thanks to that.
When i was studying to become a music-teacher we never really new wich language it should be. We had English, Swedish and even Norwegian. Lol 😂 We had professors from Norway that's why and some teachers from Brazil, or other countries.
Sanna Haydon, tack för that! If I live through this degree program I may continue my education in sweden. (That’s how I bumped into your video.) Good luck with your studies också! Teachers build the future!!
Thank you for answering my question (7:26) 😄 I totally agree regarding Zoom and I do the exact same thing during online classes, the stress is real 😂 And about your sudden side note, your hair is beautiful! ;) And btw, also dreaming of being a morning person but self-recognizing that it is the ultimate challenge, though my reason is not TikTok but late-night RU-vid (in fact that's what I'm doing right now at 2am 😂 yelp)
Hello,I heard from one of our acquaintances that someone who comes to Sweden and completes his master's degree, his income starts at around 40,000 kroner. Do you think this number is correct?
I'm late with replying here... but that is what your allowance+ student loan is for. On top of that, you can also work parttime./a couple hours per week or during summer breaks.
Hi! I was just wondering how competitive the application pool is for Swedish universities, and which universities someone with an average grade average could get accepted to? I'm American and am currently enrolled in a private American university, but I've taken a gap year so I haven't technically started university yet. I'm considering, however, not attending the university I'm committed to in favor of studying in Sweden. In high school, I was a very mediocre student because I fooled around a lot and didn't do my work, but I'd say I'm relatively intelligent so my grades do not reflect my skills. I was just wondering if you or anyone scrolling through the comments could help me see what chances I have as an international student. Tack!
Hey, there I just watched your video! First of all thanks for all your information! Did you study Fine Arts - Bachelor's Programme at Lund University? Actually, I'm looking for someone who can give me some info! I would love to hear from you.
Hey How's the university of Mälardalen?? I have applied for MSc Innovation and Design. Could you please give some informations bcoz it's really hard to find anything about Mälardalen!!! Love from India 🙏
Hi your video helped me very much but I would like to know something. I live in Greece which is in Europe so do I have to pay tuition fees or no? Because I know you said that if you are not in Europe you have to pay tuition and the registration but online says that the tuition fees are 9000 euros per year.
Hello I have an aunt that has lived there and has been working there for I believe over 10 years ,would it be different for tuition fees? I also want to pursue art/design do they have good job opportunities there? And lastly I speak English,French and Arabic would it be necessary to be completely fluent in Swedish? At least for the first year ? I might be able to go visit unis next year after my junior year(11th grade) it would be lovely if I could learn more about Sweden :)
I'M SORRY ONE MORE QUESTION ,in my country we use the baccalaureate system would I have to retake the equivalent of that in Sweden or do I just go with it?and how does the master-bachelor system work there? Do I need a bachelor's degree to apply for a master?
11:39 , it would be helpful if you demonstrate a bit more about the scale of proficiency in English.. Same thing goes for math courses 11:44 :( which topics are included? Such as Coordinate Geometry, Calculus, Statics & Dynamics etc .
