EVERYTHING you need to KNOW about UNIVERSITY (RYERSON, PARKSIDE student residence, and TIPS!) 

As long as you’re open to talking to new people, and get involved in the frost week activities, you’ll find a group of friends before the time you know it! When you find yourself getting nervous about talking to new people, just remember that everyone is nervous and wants to make friends too, so you shouldn’t be afraid of any judgement :)

I found it very comfortable! Since Ryerson is in the heart of the Canada’s most diverse cities, the campus reflects that same idea. The school is very inclusive, and I never felt threatened or left out on campus because I’m black. There are also a lot of POC clubs and events you can get involved with! We also have a lot of great leaders at the school who are people of colour; the new Ryerson Student Union President is a woman of colour! At Ryerson, POC has a voice, and I loveee that about it -Anastasia

We actually both already had our jobs back home and were able to transfer to Toronto locations. We do have a friend that was able to find a job at the Easton centre within three weeks though! So if you look at the right places, such as a mall, should be super easy :)

There are different application processes depending on your program. For Example, in Journalism we had to make a portfolio along with a resume and a list of relevant journalistic experience. You can find requirements for the program you are interested on the Ryerson website, but overall, if you have a passion for what you want to go into and you put a lot of hard work forward, you should be fine! :)
