I'm a 74 year old woman I'm amazed how much this diet helped me I'm so thankful for the carnivore community and all these podcasts.

I got into fitness about 3-4 years ago. Went from 200lbs to 132lbs. Went from not able to run 1/8th a mile to running 14-16 miles a day and 65+ a week, all in the Santa Cruz mountains. Also tried a bunch of diets while I lost the weight; vegetarian, low carb, keto to name a few. I was constantly hungry, plagued with a chronic appetite. I was eating 4000 calories most days. Eventually I cooked steaks for my Valentine’s Day date; it was my first time eating a rib eye. The next morning I went on a four hour mountain run and felt amazing. I started eating more and more meat. Eventually I realized my eating disorders I’d developed wouldn’t flare up as often when I ate plenty of meat. I’ve been carnivore for a year now, and over the last year I’ve gotten better at self control. I used to cheat every week and eat all sorts of stuff, usually on the weekends; I bake a lot for friends. But for the last few months I’ve stuck strictly to meat. I even cut dairy out. I am now getting close to as lean as I’ve ever been, but I’m around 150lbs, not 132. The difference is all the muscle I’ve put on from weightlifting. I feel like carnivore gave me freedom from chronic hunger and my constant binge eating disorder, and is helping me build the body I want. There are numerous other benefits to carnivore; I don’t get gas anymore. I used to have the worst farts. I don’t fart anymore. I used to get dandruff; no dandruff anymore. And again, I’m not chronically hungry anymore, even though I run 3 miles a day and follow a push pull legs arm weightlifting split, which means I often spend over an hour just lifting weights daily. On anything but meat, I’d be so hungry. But with meat, I pick the fattiest cuts and eat large chunks of fat; I’ll even drink liquified fat sometimes. And ironically, it’s helping me get to as lean as I ever was from fasting. But with 20lbs of muscle that I didn’t have a few years ago.

Wow this has been so informative and interesting. Well done. I’ve been carnivore for 5 years now. I’m 71 and in excellent health, dental physical, mental. No meds. I work out with a trainer 3 days a week/ week. The best thing I ever did for myself was going to a carnivore diet.

She needs to quit calling them seed oils and start calling them industrial seed oils since they were originally designed to lubricate machines back during the Industrial Revolution when getting oil to places like Detroit and Chicago was not as easy as it is today. Using the phrase industrial seed oils will scare a lot of people as it should

Industrial seed oil makes it sound like something you can't find in the grocery store and rather at a automotive store. Awareness of the chemicals is the goal, and the common consumer can't tell the difference, let alone understand the effects of any food diet over duration.

Been carnivore for 3 months and my life has changed. I thought I had depression due to a chemical imbalance in my brain and thought there was something wrong with me for 7 years. 1 week into carnivore and I could feel the brain fog and depression start to lift. I could actually have conversations with people and connect with them like I used to when I was younger. My energy is thought the roof now I don’t feel like going for a nap in the afternoon I just want to get more stuff done now. I’m gaining muscle without even going to the gym. Give this diet a go you will not regret it.

I changed my mindset from cheat to treat to energy. An extra energy meal for the next training session I do to go extra intense because of the extra "energy" meal. So, it's basically CBL.

Smalll electrolyte “snake juice” salt pack for the 1 liter waterbottle; 2 spice measure Potassium bicarbonate 2. spice measure bicarbonate of soda 1 spice measure pink salt 1 spice measure Epson salt. That’ll work fine.

Magnesium and potassium can be achieved through food. Bicarbonate sounds disgusting. I take magnesium supplement only because I workout 2x/day. I sweat a lot.

When I'm lifting I love having raw honey or 100% maple syrup yes when you buy syrup in the stores it's mostly maple flavored corn syrup just like when you buy ketchup it's most likely tomato flavored corn syrup

Energy is off the charts. I’m around 5 days in. Similar to most of us meatheads hovered @220-240 through 30’s and early 50’s. Worked IF, Keto to drop down to the 180’s-190’s. Just restarted but with Carnivore Jan 3. Again the energy level is off the charts, did an hour of weighted carry’s yesterday in the elements. Had to force myself to stop. This program is pretty remarkable. Pushing 59 and have been training for 44 years.

It takes longer than 5 days, it can take anywhere up to 90 days for full adaptation

@@Cenot4ph I use a keto meter but seem to have a hard time getting past .3-.6 ketosis. Seems like I have really stay below 20 grams a day but I hate counting macros. I don’t check everyday but net is that I feel energized on carnivore.

@@Lion-qi8ej keto meter does not mean much, if you're fat adapted you will notice no weakness, stable energy levels throughout the day, no issues with electrolytes because of low insulin. I'm carnivore for 4-5 months and don't really measure ketoses and its been said you will go out of ketosis simply by eating protein. It would depend on the time of day I guess

What I've observed is that ppl that seem like they can be "moderators" - really aren't either, it's just expressed differently.... they still suffer dependencies & deleterious effects - same as all humans... just a matter of severity & body symptoms.

Carnivore works waaay better than Keto because keto keeps you addicted to carbs/sugar. If your serious about getting healthy go strict carnivore don't worry about your weight for a while. Eat as much as fatty meat fish & eggs add a good salt like Redmonds, to taste(I suggest going a bit more salt then you want at first). ALWAYS have carnivore snacks ready in the fridge, (hardboiled eggs, beef jerkey bacon etc. for when you feel the sugar cravings. Your retraining your brain to burn fat not sugar, eventually a light switch will turn on after about a week or two and you will feel amazing! I went from 250 lbs to 165 lots of meds to none, horribly bad arthritis to none, So much more energy, better sleep etc etc. Good luck, stay strong, food freedom is liberating not restrictive !!!!

18 month carnivore. Never ever do I want to go back to carbs. 30 meat-free years led me to a very dark place. I'm free now. ❤️

Developing eczema as a kid, dyshydrotic eczema in my teens, fairly severe scarring acne during/after high-school, digestive issues, lack of energy, intermittent anxiety, and now Sebborheic dermatitis after trying keto (more on that later) and a host of other things… I tried Paleo for a long time, it helped only slightly but left me with stomach issues. Fast forward 7 years of yoyo paleo diet/SAD diet I eventually tried keto as of a year and a half ago. Mood improved, acne improved, eczema still struggled, but I did get seb derm I think due to high oxalates from nuts and veggies. 8 months ago I started the Carnivore diet. Acne almost GONE (never thought this would happen) mood massively improved. I love my meals (did not love paleo or keto, but the idea of eating meat all the time is amazingly appealing) My eczema has improved quite a bit, still struggling with Seb Derm but it seems to be improving. So if youre on the fence just try it! You may find food triggers you never realized! I sure did between raspberries, almonds, black pepper, all of which Ill never touch again. I eat as much as I want, never hungry, tons of energy, always look forward to my meals, cheaper than paleo, health massively improved, effortless weight loss. It is absolutely amazing. PS for those with dry sensitive skin Beef Tallow moisturizer is the bomb!

Carnivore is great, bin on it for 4 years, 1 meal a day, saves time, easy shopping, i feel great, no sugar crashes, no more athletes foot, energy all day long, sleep is way better, when i wake up im awake and dont feel groggy for the first half hour of the day, i sweat way less, i don‘t feel cold in winter, my brain works really fast and i have a sixpack all year round as a 30+ year old and the only exercise i do is walk my dog.

When I Went Carnivore I Struggled Adding Muscle, Strength Was Good, Once I Went With 40/40/20% (carbs/meat/veg) Then I Made Muscle Gains And My Strength Almost Doubled, I Guess By Way Of Geography Diet Is Different, From South Africa

Every body reacts differently because everyone is broken differently. I have found most athletes and especially weight training folks have the hardest time adapting because of all of the years of carb loading and high carb eating. Thinking you will automatically have all the benefits of strict carnivore is unrealistic. Many “band aids” need to be incorporated to get to the point where simple carnivore is really effective. I am in 7 years and still refining. 40 years lifting weights etc. Never go back to carb diet and low fat.

It sounds like you had too low insulin, probably because you were eating too many meals a day. When you eat all of your protein and fat in one meal a day, you do not need carbs to build and maintain muscle.

Depends how long you did it for. For some people it can take up to 6 months to become well fat adapted.

Biggest challenge for me with carnivore is getting enough calories, need to eat more meals than im used to. Overall, i feel amazing and im down 8 pounds in 7 days!

Cyclical carnivore. Half of meals are meat and eggs only; the other half I include some fruits and dairy, including squash, avocado and fermented foods. Rice, bread, nuts and veggies etc are all in extreme moderation and used in a treat/cheat meal. Works great for me.

@@Cenot4ph Nothing wrong with occasionally eating rice or boiled potatoes. They’re not the same orange juice or donuts. - I am very restrictive with the sugar I get into my body. I eat a lot of fruit but they have fiber. I like strawberries and blackberries for the fiber as well.

@@C0d0ps apparently not since you eat something that's more destructive to your tissue than sugar, fructose. That fiber will only help a bit to avoid absorption. You would be better off with potatoes

Lifespan, no idea but the average life expectancy was around 30-40 due to infant mortality rates, a harsh life and no medical services.

I supplement creatine 5g a day and eat several pounds of red meat too. @RobWardley is right though if you eat enough red meat you will get plenty of creatine

Ate half a peach and the next thing you know im turning tricks for jelly doughnuts and massaging seed oil on my nipples 😅 both carnivore and vegan figures go to hardcore in absolutes in my opinion! They are so damn dogmatic and people just identify so strongly with these cult like diets! Moderation people! Moderation

😂 that made laugh 😆. I think the dogmatic part comes from the addictive nature of a lot of foods. So like some people who combat addiction they go hard in the paint. I think it’s something we do for ourselves to comfort soothe or steel our own resolve. Pointing out how laughable it can be is hilarious. I need people to point out my silliness and if it makes me laugh I take it much better 😂

actually now. My hemorrhoids basically resolved when I switched to carnivore. If I deviate my hemorrhoid symptoms begin to recur. Listen, what makes stool soft is the water content. Ensure you're well hydrated and with carnivore you have the best bowel movements. When you introduce grains or fiber, your stool gets bulkier and harder. How the hell is that good if you have hemorrhoids? Think for yourself and try it and see.
