Thank you for your clear instructions. Can you do this on the personal plan of squarespace? I want to connect my mailerlite to my website.

You can't use MailerLite in Squarespace Personal Plan. It's because you need to be able to embed a MailerLite code into SquareSpace. You need at least a business plan to embed codes. (took me hours and hours to figure that out).

Yes, exactly. In order to add any code in Squarespace you have to be on a business plan or higher.

This was helpful thank you! if we start with squarespace automations then when we decide to switch to more funnels, can I copy my mailing list to the other system? Also I see that you can connect to google drive, is that for sending emails directly through gmail vs squarespace?

Yes, you can export your subscribers and then upload it to the new system. It depends on the system you move to. Each one would work slightly differently and may be a smoother transition than others. If you connect to google drive, it saves the emails in a Google Sheet. This may be a good backup for you to have set up if you can see yourself moving in the future.

Thank you for such wonderful tutorials. I would like to put an unsubscribe button directly on my website as I don’t send out many newsletters and some people lose the original email to unsubscribe… (sucks yes, but I don’t want to offend people or spam them!)… how do I get the code to paste in and create an unsubscribe button to create? I know there must be a way to do this but need some help 🙏🏻 Thank you!

It depends on your Email Marketing Platform. This may be trickier than you think, as you need a way to connect the button click to a specific account. You could set up another mailing list that they sign up for. Then manually go in every once in a while to delete the subscribers that sign up for that list.

I can't do any automations. It says I need a subscription. But I am subscribed, because I have a website. Or does it really cost extra on top?

Not automatically. However, you can send an email in Mailerlite with a link to your blog post.
