Abby, new Canada health guidelines currently say that there is NO safe amount of alcohol and that any more than 2 drinks a week puts you at moderate risk. How can you promote this and still say to drink responsibly when you wouldn’t require this product to do so? 🤔

Timing perfect again. I’ve been having issues with eating and weight for a decade and I know fiber this that, but never prioritised it that much. And I feel so much better. It’s stark.

This makes sense. Yes animal protein in filling but I feel so much better when I eat plants. I still eat meat but have incorporated so many whole food/plant based recipes into my diet. Also I find that plant protein almost always comes with some kind of fiber while animal protein unless you get the lean protein always comes with fat. So when I eat plant protein even without adding additional fiber to my meal am usually full and just feel good in general.

I lost a good amount of weight following the Weight Watchers program for a while now, and I always wondered why a banana has zero points and cookies with the same amount of calories have a lot of points. This was soooooo interesting! Thank you! I would love some more videos on this topic. So basically it boils down to how quickly our gut can digest something we eat? What is it about processed foods that make them break down faster? How does this all relate to experiencing sugar cravings? Secondary question: In your list of processed foods you listed deli meats. I understand that ham is definitely processed, but what about the turkey options like oven roasted or smoked turkey? Is all of the meat that I can get sliced at my deli counter considered processed?

So interesting about fibre. Years ago there was a diet out called the F-Plan. It was a super high fibre diet, not really calorie controlled as such, but eating lots of fibre made one fuller quicker. Baked potatoes with beans, sweet potatoes, added oat bran to everything, well, this is the way I like to eat anyway and it suits me. Many people experience digestive issues with tons of fibre, I dont. So its true as you say, its different strokes for different folks and we have to find what works.

I come to realise that actually it isn’t necessarily the amount of calories but where it’s coming from that’s important. Slow burning calories are better than fast (think a bowl of whole grain pasta with a herby tomato sauce versus the equivalent in chocolate). The slow burning will keep you fuller for longer and won’t get that sugar crash. And then if you’re fuller for longer you’re not snacking as much and then more likely to eat less. Obviously everyone is different and some people can’t tolerate certain food for health reasons. My brother has IBS and has to be careful of certain vegetables unless they’re very well cooked as the fibre does a number on his stomach

She recommended the crowding out method and we added more fruits and vegetables to my diet with a fibre supplement in my smoothie and I've never restricted chocolate or chips (my favourites) and yeah very slowly but I've lost weight whilst never going hungry or counting a calorie. I didn't understand the science behind it but yeah- makes sense now!
