After this year, RU-vid will be dead. With the COPPA Situation, Twitch will be the best Website. So many RU-vidrs switched to Twitch. For now, we don't know whats next. PewDiePie didnt reached 100M subs and T-SERIES reached 100M before somehow. Etika is gone, COPPA bought RU-vid for Children Protection for kids less than 13. WHAT IS NEXT?!

@@Littleha it is, but it is not really considered as a channel. We typically define a channel as a person/group of people who creates content specifically for youtube. TSeries simply uses YT as another platform for more cash while content creators such as pewdiepie heavily relies on the revenue gained in which basically becomes their full time/part time job.

@@everydayidiot1940 That's just because the process is slow. Sure the EU passed it already, but it has to manifest as legal law. That is, each country in the EU needs to pass laws based on Article 13/17 for it to actually have any effect in the real world. Right now France and Denmark are the first to pass legislation, so RU-vid is apparently making deals with them. Asides from that, there's also the deal with the EU as a whole to basically make no content come in or out from the EU if the current version of Article 13/17 is used as basis for the laws to be passed in each EU country, which would suck, hence RU-vid making deals at the national level now.

Its likely that FootofaFerret likely sent out his video to other creators to essentially pre-review the video for his audience, mainly to see if what he put in the video and how he discusses it overall is positive (considering Etika and his suicide was mentioned, and he probably had thought about how the video would do; not in a bad community reaction, rather how Ferret's overall presentation of this video works).

I almost cried at the end, when he said all that about not knowing what 2020 will hold, and hoping for the best. No one could have guessed what would happen this year. I must say, I found that RU-vid is probably better than the real world now. While in 2019, RU-vid was on the news a bunch for being in that COPPA thing, and it seemed like we’d never see an end to this horror on this platform, now, I use RU-vid as an escape from the world. An escape from the news. An escape from COVID. I’m sure there’ll be people reading this in the future who know exactly how COVID’ll play out. But as of now, things, at least in Alberta, Canada, where I’m from, are looking both up and down at the same time. Numbers are surging up, but we did just get that new vaccine, so god only knows what’s going to happen now. 2020 is almost over now. It feels like so long since 2019. I yearn for the days back when I could actually go places, where I could see family, friends for Christmas. This year has undeniably been shit. We’ll have to see where 2021 takes us now. You mentioned mental health and I just can’t help but point out all the lives we lost in the Kpop community. I know not many may know about this but we lost three very popular Korean singers and actors. Suli, who was part of one of the biggest girl groups, was lost because of negative comments online. She had been struggling for YEARS with online hate. Along with a few other things such as big scandals and dozens of idols leaving groups, 2019 has been coined one of the worst years of Kpop.

It's seriously tragic that those young people lose their lives. But I don't think it's the fault of just the fans, the environment they're in that makes them so famous in the first place basically strips them from their primary human rights. The right to have privacy, first and foremost. They're not even allowed to date who they want because it diminishes the illusion that they're these warm, pure, approachable perfect people that you can fantasize about. They're human beings and the way the industry treats them is just so gross. I'm not even into K-pop but I feel for them. Fame and money shouldn't have to destroy you on the inside like this.

Selin Naz Sur thank you, but Suli actually mentioned the online hate as one of her reasons... she was consistently ridiculed for doing things the Korean people thought wrong, such as not wearing bras. Because of this Korea is actually trying passing the Suli act which will make people’s real name attached to things they post online. It’s not perfect but it’s a start. @@IsabelLee617 Oh no I do understand the online hate thing, don't get me wrong. I just think the whole concept of pop has turned into something seriously twisted. It was never really all that wholesome anyways but it's all manifactured now. And taking my own observations into account, I can say this kind of approach to make people famous really does play a part in how people perceive K-pop stars, and pop stars in general. Because of how the corporations introduce and market their stars people end up having these really unrealistic expectations about their favorite idols, and when these expectations are not met and sometimes downright broken by the idols (can't blame them for doing so), that leads to all kinds of gross vitriolic bullshit. It brings out the worst in people. Online harassment can be devastating, and these people don't even get to turn their internet off and enjoy life outside of it, because they have to be out in the public eye all the time. I'm not excusing the harassment and the cancel culture, it still shouldn't happen, but in my opinion this is the main reason why it happens.

I feel like everyone forgets that Grant Thompson (The king of random) died this year. It wasn’t suicide but still tragic as he left behind a family. Both Etika and Grant deserve to be remembered for their contributions to RU-vid
