Dude you really REALLY could get big on youtube. I just discovered you today and love your videos. You arent trying to be all trendy and bullshitty (Thats a word now) but also don't come across like a socially inept basement dwelling nerd. You seem like a very genuine guy whos passionate about tech, thats the impression you give off and it works well. To me you've been the only person thats been able to give me an answer on "which aftermarket card to buy?" and you don't get suckered in by gimmicks. Straight performance. No bullshit. Today, 8/12, when this video publishes, the EVGA is out of stock at both Amazon and NewEgg, don't pay over retail... Gigabyte's very similar Windforce Overclocked card is in stock at NewEgg.com bit.ly/2aRALLD - There is a link to it, it is only $10 more than the EVGA card, also uses the 6-pin PCI power connector

is 300$ a good deal for the 6gb sc version or should i get the 200$ NON SC version 3gb model. I would go for the 3gb model but the base model of the rx 480 is 4gb help!!!

The 3Gb model is gimped and not worth it. Get the Gigabyte Windforce or the EVGA SC instead. If you wait a few days, they will be in stock. Do not pay over $260 for a 1060.

I'm so happy that I bought this card. It fits so well and with my i5 7500 runs Total War Warhammer with High settings, including SSAO and Screen Spce reflections and Ultra Unit size at a solid 70fps. Capped it to 60 for more stability though.

What? lol why would you notice it if you were a console gamer? Also it's not 5-15 fps its 5-10 % difference which is even less (more like 3-5 fps)

Its more about the Vram, modern games use more than that on higher settings in 1080p, the 6gb is MUCH more futureproof.

Thanks for the review, got an new sub here. Good job, keep doing that! I got a noob question. I've noticed that my 1060 only came with dvi-d port, the other ones has caps on it, but they extremely hard to pull, and I don`t want to damage my board. How can I be sure there's only the dvi-d port?

I was really hoping to hear about noise levels and cooling efficiency with the single fan. It's my only concern with buying this card - I love EVGA as well and really want to pull the trigger...

It is completely silent... I have it sitting about 10 feet away from me as I type, you'd never know it was on... Gaming, you'd really have to work hard to hear it...

please note: if using the molex adapter, be sure to use separate rails. also, DirectX 12 will allow for video card interlinking without use of an SLI bridge.

Hey im after a new GTX 1060 and i've basically narrowed it down to the Asus Turbo (looks like a reference cooler but isn't) Zotac Amp! Edition (the one you had in other video) And the EVGA Superclocked (the one in this video) The prices are also in that order with the turbo being like 50nzd (which is near 40usd) cheaper than the evga card, with the zotac card sitting in the middle in terms of price. I'm not bothered about how the cards look i just care about performance/noise. If the noise is negligible then i don't really mind. However the zotac card may not be in stock and i need to purchase one soon, although i have money to buy whatever i'd rather not be wasteful.

Hello, Tech Deals! I just ordered this card off the internet but I was not aware that its DVI does not support VGA, any longer. That'll be a problem for me and I currently cannot afford a whole new monitor just because that one detail. Is there any sort of converter I can use to get my VGA monitor to work with this card so I can make the money I spent on this card worth it (it is not a cheap card in my country)?

@Tech Deals You gave quite a solid unboxing and review, and i say that because i have watched lots of similar videos for the past years. From now on you are gonna be one of my personal favourites. Subbed and liked too!! Anyway let's get strait to the point.You said that they have removed the circuitry for the dvi to vga adapter.For the time being i run an old sapphire hd4830 512 mb with a samsung syncmaster e1920 vga only monitor of 1366x768 max resolution , and i wanted to upgrade to a new card and be somewhat future proof too in terms of budget gaming performance, in the 200 - 250 dollars price range.Also i don't plan to change my monitor for the next 3 years to say the least since i'm not that demanding to high resolution gaming.The EVGA GTX 1060 SuperClocked was my personal favourite up to the point where you said that the circuitry is removed... Also i do not mind whether it is an amd or nvidia card,and i'm okay if i have some performance loss,since i'm pretty much a casual gamer. Last but not least i must inform you that i have a micro tower case. I'm quite frustrated right now and I would be very grateful if you could suggest any alternatives for me regarding my statement above. Thank's in advance. Sorry for the inconvenience but i've run out of options... Keep up the hard work !!

2000 mhz? I got my 1060 6 gig which I don't think is the super-clocked version to go to 2038 mhz. Not much more but still goes to show how much value there really is in the 1060 6 gig cards.

I think you're stretching it a bit saying that the 300W PSUs inside OEM PCs can handle this card. They're usually cheap, not rated well for high-power load, and if you have other connections (Optical drives), you may be screwed. It's best to be safe and just get a cheap 430W PSU like the CX-430 or Seasonic S12II.

i Recommend you to tell me what Temperature your room is, and same thing with the Graphics i reach here and no where it tells me what Temperature your room is at, my pc right now is playing 150C-200c/70F-90f around in the noon and in the Night it goes around 100c-150c or 50f-70f around i wish you tell me this so i can make a better decision AND YES im not joking my PC does go around that Temperature with 2 Fans and a crappy Heat sink, oh and btw this is winter Temperature in summer it goes even hotter ;_; incase you ask i live in Mexico Rosarito on a 2 floor house i live in the 2nd floor Relly Small room so it creates lots of heat, i have a window open 24/7 always comes in cool air but whenever the suns pops out it always comes out hot air ;_; so please tell me your room temperature cause at the moment i think Asus one had to be best on the cooling side

nice video man... rly good. but whats with the noise of this one fan config? how loud and disturbing is this one? friend of mine got the zotac (i guess) with one fan (was the only one available) and its very noisy. the system i not close to your ear but u can hear that damn fan doing rounds on high speed. i mean... the fan can run as fast as he want, but not so noisy. best regards from germany

Cd driver exchange for case badge sticker? WTF? I prefer the sticker than the cd because you can download the software in the nvidia page but why EVGA removed the sticker?? My goodness! Now your pc case dont says actually have an EVGA video card! :-( I wish they sell the sticker apart for less than 5$... These stickers/case badges are important because they tells what are inside the pc case. But cd drives also, they provides the drivers in case you dont have internet... Greetings from Costa Rica!

Hi, very good review sir. I have a doubt, right now that there is a $40 difference between a regular 1060 and factory SC 1060, should I get the regular one? Also the SC ships in about 1-2 months to my location but the regular ships in 7-12 days.... Which one should I get? I'm upgrading my Acer Aspire TC desktop.

I personally just ordered the MSI 6G 1060 off of Newegg\ for $250, and in my opinion believe it was an amazing deal. It overclocks out of the box to 1950mhz and runs only up to around 74 degrees celsius under load. Amazing!

The cooler is the same on both cards. Both cards has the ACX 2.0 Single Fan cooler. But if you will buy the card by evga step-up program, you can only buy the non-oc version of the 1060. The same with the 1070 an the 1080.

I have a question. I just watched your 1070 video and you talked about why blower style GPUs work better on pre-built PCs. Does that apply to 1060 SC as well? if I have a pre-built PC?

I would be interested to know your thoughts on the MSI Armor version of this card. It's slightly cheaper where I live, but i've not heard a single word about it nor was able to find any reviews about it whatsoever. Thanks! But question is, why is it that every time gpu is talked about that it's only about game and not video rendering? Because comparing the numbers of gamers with the millions who are uploading video on RU-vid every min, I think video rendering should be considered first..

I just bought an SC for a capture rig and I had sold a non SC before and I was sad to find out they both run hot. And almost as hot as each other, within a couple degrees. But with an i3 and an AverMedia Live Gamer it does the job for 4k HDR capture.

I am a huge fan of the big green lettering saying Geforce GTX. Does either this card or the FTW have that? I am wondering because I want to color coordinate my case as green and I just think the letters look beautiful.
