I cant imagine how good the feeling is when you score a hat trick goal like that with your parents in the building watching you and the whole crowd cheering for you with the horn blasting, and hats flying everywhere. Good job Geno! You are a piece of the heart and soul of this team.
That last goal has to be the most underrated goal of all time. I will never forget watching that live all the way back in 1st grade. Watching the penguins win the cup and the steelers win the super bowl in the same year will forever define my childhood.

Geno is a MARVELOUS MONSTER, he is one of the reasons why I'm an absolute sucker for the Russian players...I love em, the ilk, the style, the skills, the cellys, the joyfulness, the everything!
russians are all skill and nothing else. very few of them play defense, play with heart, do little things. malkin, ive never been his biggest fan but i like him more in the last 5 years than at any point in his career, but malkin takes games off. sometimes multiple games just dogging it making bad plays with the puck. russian hockey is very 90s. all those europeans flooding the NHL were very trendy. for the foreseeable future, russia will never win an adult competition (they might win juniors) where canada and the US can send their best. north american hockey is far superior to russian hockey.

Evgeni Malkin is going to return to this form this coming season. For those who didn't see him in the preseason, missing the second half of last season has clearly stoked the flames under his ass.
That 3rd goal is still one of the best goals he has ever pulled. I'd rank it 2nd behind the Mario-like goal against Tampa a couple weekends ago. Geno is a machine
Hats off to Evgeni Malkin! He was unstopable in game 2! Malkin's parents are the clincher in this video. It was an emotional night for them and everyone inside Mellon Arena! It brings a tear to my eye to see his parents after the hat trick goal! They must be so proud of him! If Malkin can continue to play like this there is nothing stopping the Pittsburgh Penguins from taking the East and then possibly hoisting the Stanley Cup! GO PENGUINS!!!
I was at this whole series, I live in vancouver, and took me 3 years to save to see my favorite team in the playoffs. Boy I say my money was well spent. XD mostly at this game
I was at this game. In the Upper Bowl of the arena in the first Row of D. The seats were right on the goal line, the Hat-Trick goal he potted was THE sickest goal I have seen.. Couldn't see the puck til it hit the back of the net. It was such a fast shot I don't think anybody could have stopped that.
if i was at that game and would been setting the the front row i woulda took the malkin jersey off my back lit it on fire and threw it onto the ice because he was on FIRE, best player in the world when he wants to be
im a die hard caps fan and i love malkin i think he is just incredable yes i love ovie and i think Crosby he is amazing but i think malkin and ovechkin got the upper hand in the NHL best i love Malkin as a caps fan!

I don't know that one person has ever basically single handedly swept a team in the playoffs like Malkin did to Carolina. They probably still have nightmares about him to this day.
Memo to all NHL teams: Do.Not.Piss.Off.Malkin. Words cannot adequately describe that 3rd goal. Did anyone else think that Max Talbot's goal was quite a bit like Malkin's F.U. goal from last year's Flyers series? He got like 10 feet from Ward and ripped a slapper so hard that it would have blown Ward into the Monongahela if he'd have gotten a piece of it.
if i was a player on the hurricanes i would have just left after that 3rd Malkin goal, i would have been like "fuck this, i don't need to be here when some guy has an aimbot enabled on his stick"
