I just LOVE how they show his parents in the crowd after he tallies, that's AWESOME I mean that sincerely! 😋 I've always been one for spontaneity and after seeing him do something like that live and in the Playoffs I'd almost be inclined to jump up back into the beer line and purchase Papa Malkin a couple of beers 3 to be exact...especially if he were my favorite Pen and I were sittin near em, like your son is AWESOME I hope he stays that way, here's a few beers! 😋
They don't make the new buildings the same. Sure Consol is nicer and all but it didn't have the same feel if you know what I mean. Plus the acoustics in Consol are bad.
yep, I miss that old barn. im college-aged so my first hockey memories were of an old Lemieux and young sid and geno. I think it was watching the team go from lousy to good in those early years, that's what made it special. plus anyone could get into those games, before ticket prices skyrocketed--that's what made the atmosphere at the igloo so amazing.
I also miss how Melon looked. It was awesome I loved seeing it as I drove past it, even when I wasn't going to a game. I miss the feel one the inside too, what a special place. I also liked how it had the dome, which made the place really loud, whereas Consol's roof makes it quieter than it should be. I do like Consol though, don't get me wrong. Melon just had a special feel, that I wish I could see again. I remember the 2009 playoffs really well, it's the first games I fully remembered. Sorry for my continuous talking by the way. ;)
I had the pleasure to go to my first penguin game in the Igloo during its final few years and yea Console (Now PPG Paints Arena) is a great arena but nothing beats the experience of watching a game in Melon Arena.
@TheT4xid3rmist this isnt the scf its the ecf and its one of he nicest goals in history let alone the playoffs. the degree of skill needed to do this is immense
Malkin, Datsuk, Ovechkin. Yes, NHL stars. But you forget that in the NHL are still many other Russian good players. Kozlov, Fedorov, Kovalchuk, Kovalev, and so on.
A whiteout in Civic/Mellon Arena... Barbaro on the arena announcements... take me back! Fans at "PPG Paints Arena" are some of the quietest in the NHL now, the acoustics in the arena don't help, and the arena announcer is a dime a dozen Monster Jam type announcer.
He had a similar goal against the Flyers in March of 2008. Go to the 38 minute, 20 second mark of this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qvPThwncdNY.html
This was in the third round of four. I am curious as to what your definition of final is...and yes they are called the Stanley Cup Playoffs *facepalm.*
Ah yes, the night Malkin showed the world that a 900 lb man encased in cement being pulled backwards by a freight train on a Saturn V rocket being pulled into a black hole is a better goalie than Cam Ward.
