Loved Yannis's welcome. His English is doing well!! He's a hard working young lad. The organ is coming on brilliantly and the kitchen is looking fantastic! Well done all of you !!
So considerate to give Yannis a moment to shine. It is obvious that he has been inspired by Simon. It’s amazing to follow your steps everyday. As they used to say in the old days of radio « Congratulations for your beautiful program ». Sending love to each and everyone of you guys! Now off to Nick’s channel to subscribe. ☮️💟🇨🇦
With Simon's guidance through the summer teaching him how to plaster etc, Yannis is doing amazingly. This young man is going to do well in life, fast learner and is eager to help out with anything.
I too am an artist, a painter and love watching Michael get excited over choosing colors and restoring old patinas, even Billy choosing perfect colors for the kitchen...it makes all the difference...so satisfying...wonder what the town folk think when they hear the bell...lol...
I love watching the excitement in Michael’s eyes when he talks about getting the organ operating. Nick is doing an excellent job of explaining the process.
Can I just take a minute to acknowledge the humble but incredibly talented & hardworking tradespeople around the world who quietly go about their work... without them all, where would we be? Huge respect 🙏 Thank you.
This was a really cracking episode, Billy. We have the adorable Yiannis in the opening scenes. We see the gorgeous skirting boards being expertly fitted in the best kitchen in the world. We get to hear the bell being rung, albeit to expel the pigeons and finally all the progress on the organ. I love the idea of using the colours of the chapel on the organ. Gold, pink, turquoise and the creamy beige will make her look so pretty and definitely part of the convent, her new home. Short of it snowing and Tinkerbell making an appearance, it had it all (including Mick). Truly wonderful. 😆❤ Please give a thumbs up people.👍
I'm an older woman and about 40 years ago I had a g/f take me to her church, and they had a pipe organ. I live in the U.S. The sound and vibration was so beautiful that you felt it down to your soul! Because of the acoustics of the room, I still remember it to this day. Watching you refurbish your organ, and am very fascinated with how many parts it has. I can't wait to hear the sound of this very old pipe organ. I think it may bring tears to everyone's eye. Great job to everyone involved!
The organ reassembly is an amazing job of engineering and artistry. Not just anyone could undertake a task such as this. You have talented friends and family.
It’s been absolute poetry watching this process. I now have a wealth of completely unexpected & utterly useless pipe organ knowledge. And I am hopelessly riveted on every detail. 😂 At the least, you’ve forever changed my experience of pipe organ music. 💗
The most challenging jigsaw puzzle ever. Almost unbelievable that you are not only able to piece it all together but know exactly what each piece is for. Truly remarkable and truly mesmerising to watch. You are an amazing team.
How does this channel not have 500K subscribers? Fascinating and inspirational project, engaging and dedicated people and excellent videography! What more could anyone ask for?
As a musician, I appreciate the history of music and the musical instruments through the centuries, their construction, innovation and technology at the time of construction. Also, the subsequent 'redecoration' and configuration through the years as materials, knowledge and technology changes. Also, I appreciated Michael's excitement at revealing the original colours that lay under the layers of dirt and grime on the walls.
Honestly, your work on the organ and the music you’ve used to produce these videos has been first rate. Almost emotional. Thank you all for conserving an important piece of history. So proud of you all.
Happy to hear about plans to paint the organ, it will look amazing. Intro by Yannis was excellent, his English is improving. The skirting in the kitchen is looking very nice. Thanks Billy, Michael and Nick.🙏❤️
Everyone on the team is drawn to the organ. It is magic how all these leavers and panels, screws and wind chambers, when precisely alined and secured, turn into a complex box that, when played, creates music to stir one's soul. The patience and commitment to precision of both Michael and Nick is a wonder to behold. When Michael was checking the paint chips against the colors of the decor, he made several discoveries that were previously unknown. The mind boggles as to what the restoration of the Chapel will reveal. Another treasure box for future videos. It makes me wonder if the vibrations from the organ will loosen some of that cracked plaster work. Brilliant video today. As always, thanks for taking us along.
I am so enjoying this organ project. What an undertaking. It is so good to have Michael around again. Welcome back, Alex. It's good to see your famous b-rolls once more. I never knew that organs had a "swell box." This project has been some of your best work, Billy. Thanks. 🧡
Yannis saying good morning! He’s working on the windows outside, the man is putting in the baseboards (his name was stated but I don’t remember), Nick and Michael are being perfectionists on the organ rebuild, and you can see that Billy’s Dad (Mick I think) has cleared the garden of the convent and the rest of the families are doing all the things that they do so these terrific guys can do these worthwhile jobs. Good for all of you, exemplary people of character and humor. Thank you for the videos!
You all just keep getting better and better in every possible way. This is rather enchanting with Pip on the scene, so great to include him in the great organ build!
This is so exciting to a 70 year old granny in America watching this beautiful organ be reconstructed! I watch everyday and just wish you all God’s Blessings for your work with such love and care for the organ the convent and all that you and the Moon’s do♥️♥️
I'm a 68 year old granny! Never in a million years did I ever imagine sitting down to watch this operation. Billy and crew have allowed me to see all types of workmanship. And all the characters in your production are oscar worthy!
I am 75 year old lady from South Africa. 😊 Love watching The Pethericks and everyone helping Billy to rebuild this organ to make beautiful music again. You all do amazing work.❤
Love the fluidity of this channel. Short or long vids, solo or with the team, construction, gardening or whatever else, it always feels like we're just along for the ride. Keep it up.
Yannique ! Si adorable! Plus! The work going into the kitchen, the organ, the garden is exciting! How much everyone is giving to this project! Congratulations to everyone, including those we don't see or of whom we see little. What is amazing is how much you all gain personally in experience, skill, and inspiration! Looking forward to the story and paintings of Pip, the projects, and individuals who are not in video at the moment. Great work, Nick and Michael! Billy and Michael, a story about the crying lady who is really a pigeon. Maybe about hideaways in the attic and Pip's pigeon friends and the nuns who help them escape from...???
In a world that is full of anger, violence and sadness at the moment....its a joy to watch such love and kindness on your daily videos. Two amazingly talented families working together is a joy to watch and respite from the hatred we are seeing today. The organ project is truly fascinating...can't wait for that first note to resound around the Chapel. X
75 year old lady from South Africa. 😊 Love watching The Pethericks and everyone helping Billy to rebuild this organ to make beautiful music again. You all do amazing work.❤
The baseboard in the kitchen looks wonderful! It's a detail that is like frosting on a cake. Everyone at the convent is working on projects and are making such great strides. Plus, I am a new subscriber to the Moon's RU-vid channel and have been enjoying it immensely. The pastured race horses are stunning in today's episode, they are magical.
I’m so glad that Alec is back so Billy can focus on getting all the jobs he has in the pipeline done and also spend time with Gwen and the boys when they are done for the day.
I wish I could like every episode 100 times!!! I’m so incredibly happy I found this channel almost a year ago . It’s totally addictive and gives me so much joy every day 😊 This organ project is so wonderful to watch as I have played the organ since I was six years old. The other renovating and the historic perspective is addicting to me as I studied archaeology at Uni. I loved the metal detecting and when you find special stuff ! I’ve found my place on RU-vid ❤❤❤ So much respect for Billy and his gang of good men🎉🎉🎉
Today's warm greeting was quite a sweet surprise from our hardworking and productive friend, Yannis. He's a star in the making! 🥰💕🌟 Yannis, we're thrilled that you've joined team PETHERICK at the convent, and we can't wait to get to know you better. You have fans who love you from all over the world. Blessings! 🙏
Hello Yanis! It is good to hear from you and see you on site! The wall skirting looks so beautiful. The carpenter is a craftsman of high standards! Alex, you videography and music accompaniment is such high quality! Welcome back! Billy, you must be so pleased with all the work getting completed all around the convent. I get so wrapped up with all the progress, that I don't want the video to end!
I have watched this channel for years. But have to say the anticipation of each day of this organ rebuild has me captivated. As a church organist for many years I love the sound and majestic music they give to a church service. Great work keep going.
Outstanding craftmanship, fantastic photography, and wonderful music accompanying the work. A most enjoyable work in progress. I have seen many pipe organs and never had the appreciation for the workmanship necessary to create such an amazing instrument. Thanks to all who are making this restoration possible and for restoring this convent.
I love Nick in the videos! He has a quirky sense of humor and fits in well. I do miss Simon though! Loving the music. I have to watch twice sometimes because I zone out listening.
I have been watching your channel for quite some time and I have come to a conclusion . All of your family are so dedicated to the restoration of the structures that you have taken responsibility for . I have just watched the repair of the organ bellows the care and patience that was taken in placeing the repair patch and then the pride that he had when it dried it was amazing !...!...!
Thank you for your introduction Yannis! Nick, thank you for explaining what you are all doing to the organ so clearly to us all. Love the atmospheric music to accompany this very professional video as always. What beautiful oak skirting board, and the guy is fitting is so carefully. This Convent is so very lucky that you saved her Billy - all the love, blood sweat and tears that have gone into her restoration is just amazing. xxx
Pip is so hard working, you guys are so fortunate to have her helping by supervising the project. Her home is coming along beautifully. You guys are doing an amazing job here, as it’s such a monumental task you boys are undertaking here, the chapel is going to look stunning when the organ is in place & finished. I’m sure others are as proud you all as I am, ❤️ & blessings from Australia. 🇦🇺🍺.
In just a few weeks you fellas have almost built a whole pipe organ in time for christmas, whereas I haven`t even managed to buy a single card or pressie...... The team are doing an amazing job. How wonderful. CRACK ON!
Do the neighbors get alarmed when the bell rings, after so many years of not having a bell in the tower? I think hearing it would bring a smile to the community, knowing that you are bringing life back to the building. 😊
When this is all complete you should get Alex to make a special video of the project start to finish with appropriate music. It is such an important and unique restoration it would be worth watching all over again!
I've watched and enjoyed this channel, I guess, since before Billy and Gwendolyn acquired the convent. The masterful techniques Alex uses bring the channel to quite a fine level of viewing. Thank you. ❤🎉❤🎉😊
This project is endlessly fascinating. The age and complexity of the organ is absolutely mind boggling. What sort of brilliant mind must you have to design and craft so many intricate pieces to make the most wonderful sound that an organ does. I simply can`t get my head round it. Shim, shim, shiminy shims.....All this technical jargon is beyond me.🤣😂🤣
Wow! Billy, every vlog you do just gets better and better. Great to see Yannis do the intro. Simon did a great job teaching him new skills. Now, whether or not The Pethericks team intentionally meant to do so, they're doing a great job teaching him English. I don't know if RU-vid has an award for best channel on the site, but if they do, The Pethericks is a shoo-in.
Good job Yannis 👏🏼👏🏼, welcome back Alex, wonderful job Michael, Nick, Billie And Mick…..and the carpenter. 👍🏼 You could get some hallucinate corn to keep the pigeons out , that’s what they use in the big city buildings to keep them away. 😂 🙋🏼♀️
There are so many interesting and fascinating things happening in this video! Craftsmen everywhere. It boggles my mind to see the master carpenter installing the baseboards in the kitchen. No wonder that the windows and doors he built are as beautiful as they are. They’ll last a century at least.
Hi Yannis , great introduction 👋. Love watching your vlogs Billy. Nick and Michael making good progress. I’m subscribed to the Moon’s channel, it’s great. So funny running away in the attic Billy 😂great filming Alex xxx💕💕💕
I squealed when Yannis did the intro! Well done Yannis, your English was perfect! Great Video Alex, I especially loved the stained glass footage and the Master Carpentry in the kitchen was amazing to watch. Michael has done amazingly well replacing and patching the leather on the bellows, the way it folded down was pure skill! Sleep well everyone, that was a hard day's work.
Hi- Erik- I am so happy that you are providing a retirement home for Elite Sport Horses.- I hope to support your channel in the future. Hugs and love to your family. and Billy it is great to see you and Michael and your Dad helping out as well. I do agree the organ needs repainting and sprucing up. Looking forward to its completion and Michael can start playing as well. :D
Loving every 💓 bit of this stellar work! You are on the front lines of reminding folks to never lose sight of the past! We've been drifting backward with craftsmanship and beauty for so long. This is a keen reminder of what we should all strive for! Can't wait to hear the Old Girl sing again ❤ Heaven is with you!
I wonder if using a smoke machine plugged into the bellows will allow you to check for any minuscule holes that may have been missed/test the seals of the repairs that you have already made. Thanks for another awesome video!!
Thank you, Billy, for sharing this wonderful adventure. Watching the organ come alive with the help of some amazing, wonderful, talented friends is amazing. Can't wait to hear how beautiful it will sound. Everyday l look forward to watching the progress of the build. Thank you for sharing.❤
I think we should ask Alex to take some really clever individual portraits of all the wonderful people that Billy has employed on this massive renovation story so there can be a wall of honour. Or their portrait and story of their skills and contribution could be displayed where their main work was done. I think it would add to the story and character of this awesome project. Plus it would be amazing if there were any photos of the monasteries past life with the Nuns, that could also be displayed somewhere special
I have to say this channel gets better and better! Not enough words to tell you how entertaining it is to watch every aspect!! ❤ Good job a Billy and to everyone involved!
The more you accomplish in restoring the organ, the more I realize how complex and intricate this process is. You all make it look so easy. Kudos to EVERYONE!
I'm continually amazed by Michael's specialized skill set. He's such a charismatic personality so why doesn't he do more with his channel? I don't get it.
Yannis you did great opening the video. There is so much happening in this video. The skirting boards are superb. If it’s possible the kitchen looks even better. I knew the organ would be intricate work however watching all of the work being down is just absolutely fascinating. There is beautiful old craftsmanship in the use of wood to be followed by new craftsmanship with wood and yet again I’m gobsmacked and delighted to see you being so precise as it’s so important to get the organ working. I believe it said there is a low tolerance for this rebuild. Thank you for explaining what’s happening as you proceed. It helps me to understand the process. Those pigeons must have had the fright of their lives. I get astounded at how much you have accomplished already at the convent Billy. Thank you. May you please take care and stay safe. Louisa. 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️🤩🤩🤩 Edit : corrections as I can’t write today. 🤭
Bravo, Yanis, for doing a great introduction! Alex, honestly I could close my eyes and just listen to the gorgeous music you always pick for these videos. Wonderful work on the organ Michael, Billy, and Nick, and great work in the kitchen.
Something to consider so far as matching paint colors goes, that whole room will have been subject to UV fading. Meaning the colors you’re seeing now are not the same colors it was originally painted, even after cleaning. You’ll likely find some patches in shadier areas that are more saturated than other bits that got loads of direct sun. Sample a lot of different patches around the room, not just one, and before you paint anything, and make very sure it’s clean before you add any more layers. You’ll likely need to get a painting conservator in to advise / help with restoring the chapel, especially looking at that ceiling; don’t be too surprised if you feel like the organ needs a bit of color tweaking after 😂
That was an awesome vlog Billy, brilliantly done covering lots of interesting things (crying in the attic!). As per repainting the organ: DON’T. The Cathedral gave you a gift, it is starting a new life in France, allow it to stay majestic in its own life. Polish it, bees wax it, what ever it takes to clean and perserve the wood. But don’t change its colour! It has history, keep it, enjoy it and share it with others. Nick and Michael are doing a super job (but I’m not an organ restoration guru (although I remember pumping the organ during a service at my local church when I was 11 years old). The louvers are a volume control in simple terms, I have a wind up gramophone with louvers that control the volume. Great vlog, loving seeing this going back together with a great team. Stay well you all.
Again a very interested, perfect filmed and eddited video. You guys work soo good together. It gives this project extra wings. The Moon's are really magical. A very good channel to subscribe. Thank you for recommend it to us. Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
