Legendary year. Street Fighter sending off this EVO and paving the way for the new generation of games too, like it always does. The next one is going to be such a great time -- I can already see it.
@@DerrickBarrows prob sounds weird, but it's the character designs. Even with the team revamping their art direction the characters don't look unique enough - not by fighting game standards. Some of them are also hard to make out from each other (take the maids for example - or the match shown where a pallet change made the characters more alike than any two characters in other games) - It's not a fixable problem tho due to the series lore.
@@theinktician This, the character design is incredibly uninspiring to look at, with the negative side effect of also making readability a mess for viewers. Especially if you're looking to grab new viewers.
As someone who's knowledge of Guilty Gear goes as far as 20 minutes on Xrd, hearing that crowd sing Smell of The Game in unison fills me with so much joy.
@kofatsu a girl with Cammy cosplay costume, she pushed me and then took my Juri away from me, and I don't like Cammy anymore, cause she's gross. You know, Juri knocks Cammy out with her superpowers for messing with her because that's against capcom rules, every boy and girl romance and kiss each other in every Capcom couple and heroes and villains will never belongs with each other. Between heroes and villains are enemies. Juri's crush and true love was me as the Akatsuki Apprentice and Juri and I like each other
Smell of the Game turned EVO into a concert. Imagine if they would do actual concerts for video game soundtracks, like for Killer Instinct or Guilty Gear Strive!
Imagine if they'd ever make an actual Guilty Gear game ever again. They probably won't cause people are selfish and want the same repetitive experience in every game they play, but just imagine if they did.
@@Eyeupthebison Just people in general. They wanted Guilty Gear to be "simplified" for "fun". But the reality is, they didn't care about fun. It's about being able compete. Plus, the game wasn't simplified, it was just changed into a bland anime fighter that does nothing special. There is no modern Guilty Gear cause now, it's just some whack ass name and nothing has replaced it. Guilty Gear gameplay is dead and fighting games are going to innovate and experiment less than ever. Street Fighter has been innovating more. STREET FIGHTER! The most BASIC fighting game there is.
@@Eyeupthebison And who asked for this bland, generic, dime a dozen fighting game that's been overdone a billion times? A bunch of whiny as sholes like you :) "Durrr, we want every game to play the same. But also, there's something being made for everyone! You just have to search hard! Durrrrr!" that's you.
I've been watching Evolution since the very beginning. I even have the inaugural DVDs from about 20 years ago. Some years I'll watch the majority of the tournaments (and I'll admit, I watch a ton of side tournies as well) and some years (like this year) I'm so busy working and what not, that I miss the majority of the action. I keep saying I at least need to make ONE tournament and I think next year will be the year. Too bad I'm so out of "fighting game shape" that unfortunately I gotta just spectate. I ain't going to waste anyone's time by getting *bodied* over and over again. 😂
Menard gracefully losing the final honestly the incredible amount of fgc class shown is amazing I ain’t saying I don’t miss the grimey but this was a class act from mena , punk , and Tokido in their losses
@@Forse702 Then immediately got whooped by Punk and Menard afterward? Then again Tokido sent a lot of Modern Players in the pools to loser bracket or eliminated them.
These were amazing I was at the edge of my seat when Tokido face off Menard in that stare down, that was hella funny. Although I would ask where is that thumbnail with Juri & Cammy in video huh!? 😂
