What do you expect in a fighting game that's been out for 10 years, anyone that wants to win will pick the same characters. Now that the game is late-stage all the capcom characters dominate, who could have seen this coming in a capcom game... Lmao at least companies like capcom and konami still had some humility back in the day,
I'll never get it. I dunno what it is about the MVC3 fgc and refusing to ban vergil. 12 years later and he's universally accepted as one of the most broken characters ever. Don't even think about banning him, though. How else are you gonna have him on both teams in every single grand finals?
@chanty2192 honestly the entire top 6 was watching the Zero ToD. I feel like Vergil was there but was rarely a factor because once Zero touched the other character, that character died then the opponent has to guess 6 times on incoming or get infinited. This evo was a tale of Zero more than Vergil, mvc3 has too many busted characters to ban them all
it's better than having a morridoom/Vergil mirror. you're just hoping someone drops lightning loops with zero may cry teams to make things interesting. Jibrill's Zero seemed to always finish his plate, Evasion had to ask for a box and pack it up.
Not going to discount how good it is, but god would I love to see more variety in teams. I've followed this since it came out and its been stagnant almost the entire time. While seeing Zeros antics was mindblowing at first, it's now probably my least favorite team to watch. Except besides maybe morridoom. Zero may cry and Dr doom are just so done to death, it's one reason why people like J Wong, KBR, and iheartjustice are such a breath of fresh air. EDIT: But to top it all off, a ZMC MIRROR is just the dullest thing to watch if youve been watching for years. I almost wish they waited longer to release Ultimate. I want to see more Wesker, Tron, She Hulk, etc.
They should funnel all the best zero players to one bracket so they eliminate each other before top 8. A zero may cry gf at evo after all these years isn’t good for the game

I respect his dedication to winning but can't lie as someone relatively new to marvel, this is boring idk if this is the best look, especially when I know it can be a lot more exciting 💀

This has to be worst GF for Marvel ever. One day MvC3 tournaments will ban Zero, Vergil, Doom, and all the other top tiers to make this game watchable again.
Although i dont like this team at all, i had to root hard for jibrill. I saw Evasion Tbag Frankie G at a tournament while time was running out and i saw that as a scummy move as a person.
UMVC3 is about trying to beat Zero may cry team now. It's pointless to play other characters because the zero/vergi team is so damn cheap and overpowered.

Ok this game is great it’s just a shitty thing to use zmc instead of actually using non broken characters that ruin the experience for everyone and make the game look bad.

Well this was probably going to be a one time thing regardless. EVO seems to be wanting to have a "legacy game" among the main titles each year going forward and I bet that game is going to swap around each year. Since next year is going to mark 20 years since EVO Moment 37, I bet next year we're gonna have 3rd Strike as the "legacy game"
@ThreeEyedPea Pretty much this. It's also a good way to test how many people will show up for that game. I'm impressed that they were able to get more than 1300 players for Marvel 3 & a spot in the arena on Sunday. Has me excited for other legacy titles getting one more chance in the spotlight.
So many crybabies in the comments lol. I'm so happy to see UMVC3 back at EVO and had so much fun watching this event! I love this game and the community is awesome too. Sure a ZMC mirror isnt the most optimal thing to watch, but I'm happy this game got back to the mainstage and had a solid number of entrants. Can't wait to see the future for this game at upcoming major events!
It's just everyone uses the same 3-5 boring characters all the time. Vergil/Zero/Magneto/Dr. Doom & Morrigan. I don't give a damn who's the winner of the tournament because my fav players don't play this game anymore. But geez, watching the same 5 characters over and over again it's beyond boring.
@@MFJones- There was 13 different characters in the top 6 alone so I'm not quite sure why you are saying only 3-5 boring characters all the time. On top of this, these were the only two ZMC in top 8 and I believe top 16 as well by the look of it so saying that is completely false. Yes it may not be the best for viewing, but basing the entire community on something that is clear you do not watch or care about anymore is just silly. That's the problem I see with the comment section because they are saying the game is dead or that the game sucks based on just this match alone. So that's why I made my statement and why I'm trying to understand why everyone is up in arms over this.
Although I personally think this is the most boring evo umvc3 grand final in history, all I saw was Zero, Zero, but it must be admitted that Jbrill on this day was godlike and unstoppable after defeating KBR. The biggest regret is that LT's performance does not seem to be as hot as he has recently, and Jasonkido did not come to participate in the battle, otherwise the final should be much better.
This was extremely anti climactic if were being honest yes its the best team in the game but WE GOT KANE BLUE RIVER OVER THERE Like nah i’ll have my big body meta lol theres no surprise if theres a mirror match with the 3 best characters we love the variety not a 3-0 sweep with the most commonly used team
They both played really well and they are super skilled, but this was mad boring to watch. ZMC really brings down the hype for me in any mvc match. Maybe High level mvc just aint for me
Garbage. ZeroMayCry players hard carried by the team. The boring announcers saying we have to cheer for one of these scrubs made me laugh. The real winner is Kane. This was the saddest ending for UMvC3. No Yipes, no hype.

Because so much money was on the line and its EVO, i understand why it was just a regular tourney. BUT, with that being said if it was Ratio rules like what TampaNeverSleeps does a lot it wouldve been super interesting to see which players adapted and compromised best when everything was on the line.
