For anybody that doesn't know what happened. The reason why there is so much bad blood between these two is that Mad Catz wanted Infiltration but it was a package deal so they had to get both Laugh and Infiltration. Infiltration got a better offer somewhere else even though Laugh wanted Infiltration to stay Infiltration still left. That's why you see that there isn't MCZ.WW. in front of their name anymore at tournaments.
I dont think they are anymore, they used to chill with one another at all tournaments and Laugh used to translate things for him, but apparently they dont travel together either.
Infil wanted to leave the team. Laugh didn't. Infil left, and the sponsors pulled sponsorship, rendering Laugh teamless. This is why they both lacked a tag this time. They were not on good terms to start with. Then on top of that messy divorce, they played each other, and Laugh was eliminated from the tournament. These are two guys on the verge of having an irreparable relationship, which is why it's so sad.
+CM Nights Yeah, before this match, but not long before, I don't think. Everything seemed normal up until this event. During this EVO , people saw that Infiltration and Laugh were not cornering each other during their matches which was very odd, nobody knew why, then this super frosty interaction after they played each other here, and they never teamed up again :/
Was rooting for Laugh for the same reason as iYorKeY. Laugh has been living in Infiltration's shadow for a while now, despite being a really good player himself. It's sad whatever happened between them that they aren't friends anymore though. Laugh definitely had something to prove, and he put up a good fight.
Is that so? Originally that's what I thought as well. That it was a super serious match with a "no more games" mentality. The whole not looking at each other, no handshake afterward, and the grim expressions after the match is what made me think otherwise, but it could have just been salt I guess.
These aren't two teammates in the traditional sense: They are teamless. Notice how they don't have an EG/MCZ or anything before their name. They simply travel together around the world. When Infiltration is playing, Laugh is always at his side giving advice between rounds. EVO is the biggest fighting tournament of the year: Imagine the GSL only happening once a year and two teamless friends have to eliminate eachother.
They were together in the lobby a few hours after the match....some of you need to tell the difference between "we're friends, but this is a serious match" versus "I hate you now"
I remember seeing this live. Before the match, I said, "Oh my gosh," outloud in anguish when I saw the player cam, then James Chen immediately said, "Oh my gosh," in the *exact* same tone of voice. Everyone knew about how hard this must have been for both of them.
For those of you asking yourselves "what happened at the end", I can give you a tip: Hate. When you face your friend, there's no use masking your hate throughout the fight and give him a hug like 'hey, we're friends, it doesn't matter'. You gotta cooldown the feelings and give yourself and your friend some time. After all, you were standing on his path to becoming a champion, even though he's your friend. In short, when emotions and money are taken into account, you gotta split up the professionalism from friendship. That's never easy. Those guys were professional, NOT friends.
yeah its so sad man i cant stop crying its so super sad man i never saw something that is so that.oh man so sad two friends play against eachother in a torunament oh man so sad :'(:'( damn i cant stop crying, why is this so sad?I cant control my self its so super sad super sad,i cant take the sadness anymore its so sad did i say it was sad
You can also see how painful the match is for both of em. Infiltration especially did not have the heart to finish him off and opt for time out instead
It was just salt. Think about it. Laugh has been "Infiltration's sidekick" for a while now, but here he had the chance to actually make top 8 at EVO, which is amazing for a guy whose always been considered a "middle tier" player. But he ended up missing the chance by being eliminated by the very same guy who has overshadowed him. Friends or not, that's gonna cause a lot of salt.
For those wondering on the backstory, both laugh and infil originally planned to proceed to top 8 together. But the unexpected happens and pr rog kicked infil down to losers' bracket, which mean he now has to fight laugh and only one of em can proceed. Needless to say, laugh was dissapointed at how they have to eliminate each other before top 8
@AzizGueye Really? "Not that crap fireball way like Daigo plays". I saw just as much fireball play in Laugh as Daigo. Just shut it. I'm not a fanboy, I just get tired of people complaining about fireballs. It's proven that there's a way around almost anything in SF.
Poor misconception here. Not everyone is all hearts and flowers here. Watch some of the OG VF2 battles in Japan, definitely no lost love there. Their relationship and what occurred leading up to how they reacted. Calling an entire ethnic group chumps for this occasion shows how immature you are.
Fuck up, tournament is a tournament and for some people it's more then a game. Football is a game, basket ball is a game, POKER is a game and has it's tournaments. Shut the fuck up.
They were best friends for years... they had a fallout because of a contract deal with a big company that's why they didn't respond with each other. If you watch most SF tourneys the players are really happy and always at least shake hands or even hug etc even though they don't know each other but just from having fun playing at such a high level.
Someone who has played at Evo before & actually been to fighting game tournaments, what about you? Stating an ethnic group as being chumps & that everyone should be hearts & flowers is idiotic. Their relationship was strained which is what resulted in what you see. Comprehend the situation & don't make stupid assumptions.
This is how we play with Ryu, not the crap Daigo is doing only relying on fireballs which explains why he was so dominated by infiltration...Laugh is good, but Infiltration is a real problem...who's gonna take him down???
Infiltration and laugh argued about whether a man should beat a woman. Infiltration thought it's very safe and legal to beat a woman in Korea but Laugh did not agree. After that they break...
Damn, the FGC sure got some serious drama queens and speculators. They were just two highly competitive individuals who do not like to lose, hence the salt. They had grim faces, but none were disrespectful. Rather refreshing as compared to the "fake-happy-buddy" displays whenever someone loses a high staked match. "on the verge of having an irreparable relationship"... jesus... according to who? LoL.
