People often misses the point of these car. If you wanted something faster you'd get a car with DCT or EV. It isn't about who is fastest anymore with these cars, it is more about nostalgia and "feeling" fast and taking more control and feel involved with your car's mechanism. and that's why cars such as Integra Type R or Evo8, blobeye STIs are fetching 40k+ for nice examples today, even though they all have less than 300hps and kinda shitty inside and out, since these are based on regular econo-shit boxes. But it is a lot of fun! I have little one coming on the way, and I cannot wait to drive around in my GR corolla with the baby. Enjoy your car and drive safe!
In 2015 I was about to buy an Evo X. They sold it before I could and ended up with a stock 2011 STI sedan with 28k miles. It’s far from stock now but I still think about that Evo and what it might’ve been. My Subie is responsible for 4 people that ended up with Subies. 3 WRX’s and 1 STI. All loving the JDM cars and modifying them which is my favorite part. Anyways, this video made me think about that.

@drewboeckx406 my g37s stock gearing no tune does 90 top of 3rd 120 top of 4th since my tune and the parts I put on it it tops out 100 in 3rd now 130 in 4th 8k

@@vic_evoxfe The 5th gear in evo x is a highway gear. Ive actually heard of guys wrecking the bullet proof gear box doing a big pull than switching to 5th. Gearbox will just last longer if you rip 4th than slow down and switch
Just a heads up, once you get a bigger turbo do not wot 5th gear if you're stock motor. You are going to throw a rod, that's how I blew my shit. Imo stop doing it now even with a stock turbo. The engine doesn't like the increased load from that gear
Well you had to slow down.. 5th gear is 4k at 140kph. Those cars are not meant for highways.. no Idea why they dident put in a 6th gear. My whole reason for not buying one.
@@vic_evoxfe also the back seats dont fold down.. but the reg lancer does. Which ive also owned. And that was the deal breaker. With my kid in the back and not being able to jam snowboards and golf clubs in was a deal breaker. And why I got my golf r instead 😅👉 I wish they did an 11th Gen. And just fixed all the issues with the 10th to actually make it more user friendly with some upgrades.
It was bad for older evos because of bad tuning from the factory in 5th. In the X I have been full throttle in 5th since it was new. 100k miles later and it still pulls decent in 5th on the factory tune.
