Screamo (A.K.A. "Skramz") is a subtype of emo that was developed in the 80's by emo bands like Moss Icon adding the fury of hardcore into emo. This was put into full-effect by bands like Sleeping Body, Heroin, and Honeywell. Soon screamo too would split into different subypes of its own (emoviolence, twinkle-skramz, and even metal-screamo) in the late 90's. This is a brief dive into classic screamo, AKA "skramz", which keeps true to the hardcore + emo format.
