Evolution Of Bloons Tower Defense (2007-2018) 

"What is the first game at the start of the video?" Onslaught 2. "You forgot Cobra" All it does is just pew pew at the bloons and it was just another tower, I stopped mentioning specific tower midway through the video. "What about [game] mobile/console" Not really important to the game's mechanics, and they are all the same game, only thing is that BTD4 mobile has Beekeeper as a tower. "What about Bloons Super Monkey/etc" Not a Tower Defense game. "What about Bloons TD X" Fangame, not official.

No matter how powerful your computer is, Bloons Tower Defense- just like Minecraft- will always bring your computer to its knees if a lot happens on screen

Anyone else remember playing BTD in a computer lab in elementary school?

To all the people who grew up with BTD4: hats off to all of you, we are old.

I remember when i first bought BTD6i hated the 3 towers paths because i was so used to only having 2. Now i love the variety it brings with it and really makes me enjoy the game for a longer time by coming up with new strategies and fun ways to play the game.

Me in the beginning: "I'll only watch a couple minutes" Me 25 minutes later: "why did I watch the whole thing..."

The jump of the graphics and the gameplay in btd 4 to btd 5 is amazing

bloons as a game series has done an amazing job at evolving its formula while somehow still feeling the same. every time i look at past bloons games i am amazed at how many things arent there that im used to in btd6

I think it's really cool to see how this game was probably made on flash by a couple of friends or maybe even one guy and it ends up getting a spin-off with one of the biggest cartoons of the modern era

IMO, BTD3 is when you can see what would become modern BTD beginning to take shape. The increased amount of upgrades, the appearance of icons such as the Missile Tower upgrade and Plasma Super Monkey, the Beacon being the first support tower, etc.

The graphics of bloons td 1 can be summed up in one sentence: "This new gradient tool is pretty cool."

BTD 5 will always be a favourite of mine. Overall, it had the prettiest graphics in my opinion and held a lot of sentimental values. I remember playing this almost every summer days with my cousin, who isn't here anymore. This video reminded me so much of him, thank you.

I remember when Btd6 released. I only heard the news a mere week or two before release and was so excited. I was in Florida for summer and I waited in extreme anticipation for it to release. When it came out I played it for hours and hours, during the car rides to our destinations and in the afternoons when I was tired. BTD6 has and will be a great game

you gotta remember, up until td 5, ALL of that was made with flash. that is immensely impresive.

I was introduced to this game when I saw my dad playing it, and I told him to watch out for the tack-shooter because I thought you played as the bloons

When you're in computer class and you've been playing BTD the whole time, then your teacher asks everyone to turn in their work.

I remember playing BTD 1-3 a ton when I was younger. I think I played 3 the most. I just bought 5 for iOS and I’m having a blast getting back into the series.

Admittedly, I was a bit of a latecomer to this series, but BTD 4 was my childhood.

The main difference from the first to now: Super Monkey was a figurative god, but now he’s a literal god.

Wow, I never played Bloons TD before (it didn't catch my attention back in flash days), but right now it keeps me playing for hours in it's 6th part. And waiting for the Bloons TD Battles 2!

Yes, BTD was indeed the most played tower defence around 2010. But there was a certain other small flash game TD franchise around that era probably many of us have played as kids: Gemcraft. You fused gems and played through a campaign, different modes and unlockable upgrades, instead of health there's mana which is also used for defences, basically it was way more complicated and not necessarily made for kids. But kids played them. And today there's a steam game. Eh, just wanted to mention it here to wake some people's memories and how great the games were even back then

BTD6 is an amazing game in the series and has loads of new features that improve the game so much, although BTD 3-5 will always hold a special place in my heart. R.I.P. Adobe Flash Player...

I want a short documentary or book on the complete history of how Bloons came to arise. The history of the series and why they stuck with their sole concept. As well the ideas and thinking that went behind the different towers. Its just something about monkeys popping balloons that makes me giggle for some reason. The idea is absolutely flawless. So good.

It's 3 in the morning, why am i watching a video about the evolution of bloons tower defense? I guess its one of life's great mysteries.

I used to play BTD all the time. Probably an unhealthy amount. As I grew up I started playing more games like COD and Halo. One night I came home from work and was about to play some Halo with my friends. We were going to meet up in about half an hour and so I hoped on Twitch for a while until they joined in the VC. I was just browsing, and I saw somebody playing BTD6. It was either ISAB or Aliens rock. In that moment I was taken back several years in the past. All those times almost getting caught by the teacher, having dreams about being a bloon trying to escape from the darts and tacks. I loved these games and still do. All these years and even the oldest versions still have a charm to them that is almost unmatched by any game I have ever played. Thank you NK for making such great games and continueing to help them improve while still keeping that childlike magic alive.

D.D.T stands for Dark Dirigible Titan. The mighty B.A.D stands for Big Airship of Doom just so everyone knows.

What makes btd6 so lit is the fact that it exists. Like everyone thought btd5 was the final game- everyone thought it was the end. And for 7 long years, it was. In fact the first 5 games came out within a span of 4 years (2007-2011), and btd6 came out 7 years after btd5 (2018). But like nobody thought it was gonna happen. I remember talking to my friend in 6th grade about how lit it would be if btd6 was a thing and if they had crossbow towers (I had the idea first!) it would be so cool and he was like “yeah but that’s probably never gonna happen. And it did!

Fun Fact: Bloons TD 3 and 4 had the limit round as you play Freeplay mode on whatever difficulty you play. Such as BTD3 ended in round 100 but BTD4 ended in round 250. Maybe because to prevent computer from crashing.

BTD 3 is what I grew up with. Fell out of touch with it for a few years and discovered BTD5 (I only found out about BTD4 after playing 5 haha) and then more recently I saw the new (at the time) BTD6. They've sure come a long way
