I think the smoke effect from inbound is best quality but REALLY needs the density from Prostreet and how the smoke forms around the tires from HP/HP Remastered..
@@ervinrommel5635 lol the drift events was painful with tires being able to blow up during mid drift, especially when you're so close to the 1st top score, one interesting detail is that it happens much frequently on daytime drift events, on night drift events it has less chance of blowing up due to less heat
Despite ProStreet smoke looks amazing to this day (and I love it as many others), it just looks like a post-proc filter added on post, and nothing more. It doesn't feel like it exists out there on the track, besides reacting to cars physics maybe. It's also overly soft (to the point it makes me wanna rub my eyes), it doesn't receive shadows from cars or meshes, or any geometry really. MW05 smoke is probably my favorite because at least it does receive realtime shadows from everything - a rare thing to have even nowadays! With proper mods and fine tuning (make it thicker at least) MW05 smoke is excellent. NFSHP2010 smoke comes dangerously close to it, it's truly gorgeous minus the fact it doesn't react to shadows but the way it starts and spreads over the wheels is just :chef's kiss:. It has just the right thickness, opacity and color, it just lacks proper light/shadow physics which is a bummer. My 3rd place would go to Rivals, the smoke there even casts its own shadow. (And yeah, afair only smoke coming out on tarmac casts shadow, dust trails do not.) But NFS is NFS, go and try drifting in GRID & GRID Legends, the smoke is MINDBLOWINGLY FANTASTIC there!
