LoL, technically it is. Ostrich and Emus. Granted they don't look like chicken and parrot cross over, but you can ride them if you aren't too heavy.

Nancy Lo It's because it's great. Catchy as hell, upbeat and fun to listen too. My favourites are Techno de Chocobo from Final Fantasy 6, or Electric de Chocobo from Final Fantasy 8, but I haven't them all yet. But I have noticed that the Final Fantasy 4 version sounds like crap on a GBA.

It has some of the highest highests, and the lowest lows. Like it's a good game spoiled by things like ads + the driving is pointless + side quests have 0 effort put into them + story switched directors and is a total mess, etc. A lot of the other FF's have really amazing stories that are actually cohesive.

Great theme. I always ride a chocobo just to listen to the theme. I also like how each version has a different vibe to it. There's a jazzy vibe, a techno vibe, rock, and even a cowboy bebop-ey one. I love FF15's theme because of the violin and the lenghty tune.

The best ones to me are 7, 8, 10, and 13. They all sound like really bizarre choices for their respective games (Surf Rock, 50s Rock, Big Band Swing, and Salsa respectively) but that's what makes them so good. Orchestral/acoustic music is a bit overdone in fantasy games, so to hear something fresh and out of place is nice.

aw man was looking forward to that other chocobo version of XIII, I remember first playing that game and just listening to it on repeat. The one in ..dream land? FF Disney Land? lol the one with the chick singing far off in the background.

I just remembered there was a Metal version of the Chocobo Theme in XIII-2 when the Player is riding a wild Red Chocobo. At least it's in the version that was published in Germany. And in XIV there's an own theme for fat Chocobos. Totally missed them here. I mean, even if they're more like Easter Egg,s it's worth mentioning them when doing a video about the Evolution of Chocobo Theme ;)
