Haha I know right Back when I got tekken 3 I didn’t even bother going to the arcade to play it anymore It was all close to being arcade port perfect to me
Aesthetically, Lei from Teken 2 is the best, it has that Jackie Chan Tony Leung Hong Kong detective feel to it, unlike in Teken 7 that feels like a super " (Japanese) Yanki" version with those Japanese Yakuza jackets, and also looks very American-Japanese, the ultimate "Yanki" look, very 2010s looks, everything looking bigger and very western. As for fighting style, Taken 6 was my favorite, Lei was perhaps the most complex character. If you mastered Lei, you really liked fighting games beyond winning. Lei is just the character you chooseif you really like a rich fighting experience.
Lei is difficult to use. If you can master his stances, he can be effective with is unorthodox and hard to predict fighting style. Even though I have played at least two Tekken games, I knew he's based off of Jackie Chan.
Very true, for the younger lot, it's more of a case of being in mid 20s, and the rest more nearer 30s and 40s, with the exception of kazuya (because of the devil gene, and his revival which doesn't really make him human anymore) heihachi (because of his already old age), and Anna and Nina, due to the cryosleep they got put through at the end if tekken 2 which preserved their young age.
And the multiple clone stages (too many skyscaper stages with helicopters and too many volcanoes). And also the fact that we only have one floor-break stage and too many octagons/squares.
Lei will always be my favourite Tekken character. I’ve played every Tekken game with him. He’s just iconic, I love Lei, he’s one of my all-time favourite fighting game characters along with Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat.
People complaining about his new look, when he's meant to have always been a different version of Jackie Chan everytime, with outfits similar to his movies. His new outfit harkens back to his 90's look, with the knee and elbow pads giving off a "behind the scenes" version as if he were practicing the stunts. I think it's a really clever way to adapt a characters look, rather than just make the same exact look but in updated graphics. I mean, imagine if we got the same exact looks for all the different colored ninjas from Mortal Kombat in the new game. they'd all look like the same character and it'd be SOOOOO bland in comparison than the old games due to the increased graphic fidelity. If you don't like it, that's fine, but it's DEFINITELY withing his character and still gives off that distinct Jackie Chan vibe the character was born from.
i hope tekken 8/tag tournament 3/ whatever is next goes way deeper on adding like old characters, old costumes, and old stages. I'm new to the series yet I played when I was a kid. Lei was fun to fight even then when I was little kid.
Yoshimitsu gets a pass for consistantly looking Different. Lei in T7 is too far away from Lei.(Is anybody getting a DOA vibe?) Take a lesson from Tekken...(ironically) Missing characters don't need to mean missing move sets. Either give us Lei or a new character with Lei moves...but Don't mix the two.
Everyone mentions Lee when talking about characters who look younger than they are.. but Lei looked like late twenties to early thirties until Tekken 7.
Honestly I do like Lei’s Jackie Chan Police Story outfits that made him like a Undercover cop but Tekken 7’s made me want to try him out more I did like the design of T7
VideoDeadGaming I disagree, I like character designs that look like street thugs but the people that look that way are actually really nice and playful.
All these people complaining about Lei’s new look. I actually love his new design, I really admire how someone can just look like an inexperienced punk but they’re really cool people that can still kick ass. Just like Jackie Chan, amiright?
Best way to dominate with Lei, use L1, R1 for punches, L2, R2 for kicks and other buttons for combos. Practically unbeatable when you learn the proper sequences.
I think if they remake takken 3 with its old voice and new features like takken 7 also better graphics then it will be one of the best game of their whole series
The new design is too cool, I understand why the fans are complaining, we were familiarizate to the old and good Jackie Chan, and I'd expect that this one will be as a second costume, anyway, it's so good have my favorite character back, it's a shame that he is out of story mode, even so, I'm happy that Namco don't forgot him! P.s: My english is a trash, I know.
Great video, any of you guys know if what I read is true? That Lei Wulong's backstory in Tekken 7 is that he would be a huge fan of Lucky Chloe. Can't remember where I actually read it.
In T7 Lei looks like he forgot that his vacation is over because he was drinking sake for the whole month straight and now he got to go back to his shitty job that he don't really care any more .
Same. Tekken 3 is my 3rd favorite game of all-time. I'd win with Lei like 85-90% of the time against my friends. Did haha steps and everything. My favorite move is still the crane dance.
