How Lei Wulong got his moves from Jackie Chan.
This one took me awhile, Mr. Chan certainly has ALLOT of movies, and low and behold when certain movies didn't give any moves that Lei used in Tekken. So I ended up marathoning a ton of Jackie Chan movies since i've only seen mostly his America ones (movies he's apparently not a fan of :/ )

lee chaolan's style is a mix of muaythai and taekwondo. his kick stance and flat heel kicks are basic form of muaythai.

I grew up watching Jackie Chan movie and when i saw obvious references to Snake in Eagle Shadow, Drunken Master and that both Chan and Lei are reckless cops, i realised the association straight away. No ifs or buts about it.

Some of these are real stretches. But I do appreciate the homage to Jackie Chan, as presented by Lei Wulong. It's no secret that he's Tekken's Jackie Chan insert, and a fellow so legendary deserves it. Plus, Tekken's the only series to pay tribute to both the late Bruce Lee and the still living Jackie Chan, to my knowledge. Lei's Tekken Tag Tournament 2 ending is basically the abridged version of the fight between Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan that fans of both never got to see. And I for one adore it.

For my My first ever job, I worked at Blockbuster video. As an employee there, I was allowed to rent movies for free, as long as they weren't new releases, so I rented every jackie chan movie we had in the martial arts section, and I was amazed! I found all those different animal stances, and drunken stances to be fascinating, so when I picked up my copy of Tekken 3 for my playstation, I was beyond excited when I discovered Lei Wulong. After that, I picked up my Tekken 3 Prima guide, and made it my mission to master every single move and stance and stance transition his character had to offer, and boy did I succeed! I was almost unbeatable! lol still my favorite tekken character to this day.

This is why Tekken is so famous and such a good fighting game. They have characters that are based on real life people. Law is Bruce Lee, Lei is Jackie Chan and I think Feng Wei is Jet Li. That's what most people think.

You're right. 🤨 Bruce Lee had a lot of tribute characters like Marshall Law (Tekken), Liu Kang (Mortal Kombat), and Fei Long (Street Fighter). Jackie Chan had no tribute character in no fighting game until Tekken with Lei Wulong.

Yes, for those of us who are Jackie Chan fans and play Tekken, we have known this since Lei’s 1st appearance, great video though. Oh and dropped an egg, at 1:30, thought we wouldn’t notice, but we did😸 A cool, and longer video would be to list all the fighting references in Tekken, like how they added Tony Jaa moves to Bruce, wish Bruce came back instead of Jose and cheap a$$ super ridiculous giant Fak.

MrChach1ng I don't think Mr. Chan has any involvement at all in the development (directly anyways) of Lei Wulong. Not sure who the motion capture artist is but if it was Chan we would have heard. I think it's obvious that Lei is Jackie (If he wasn't then Namco would have failed at getting the point across and the whole appeal of Lei) but this video is intended to show how detailed Namco was in making Lei a Jackie Chan clone.

This takes me back to my teen, grew up watching Jacky Chan and also I used to practice lei wu long moves back then in the 90s? Not the drunken moves, that's too hard lol, but the practical ones.
