BotW fun fact! If you die by normal means, enemies that use fire attacks, heat, lava, malice, or fall damage, the “GAME OVER” text will be red If you die by enemies that use ice attacks, by drowning, or from freezing, the text will be blue If you die from lightning or by an enemy that uses electric attacks, the text will be yellow!
Zelda 2 will always be the scariest game over screen for me. the flashes, the blood red screen, some ugly shadowy looming over staring at you, the laugh and....the silence. no game over music or nothing. just....you done goofed up son. I mean now, its not bad. But as kid, this scared the utter hell out of me.
Malcolm Fitzpatrick that shadowy figure is actually Ganon. If you read the instruction manual, it states that Ganon's minions are searching for the blood of link to revive their master. Creepiness increased?
@Winter Ice Secret of mana (even the HD remake) has you dying alot and it still made you feel bad about dying, Alundra is hard as fuck and youd be constantly dying and they still made you feel bad about dying
Yikes, the spirit tracks one really made me feel like it was a game over. The others were just kind of like "Oh you died. Restart?" But the spirit tracks ones really made me feel like "You died, now you're just dead and this is the end."
Heh, I don't think anyone got what I was trying to reference. A while ago, I did a 3-Heart challenge of The Minish Cap. No potions, fairies, or Heart Containers. Made it as far as the boss of the Temple of Droplets before I died.
Also, not to nitpick, but there's more than 1 death animation in some games, like dying while on water vs. land, like seen in the video between Majora's Mask for N64 and 3DS. There are also spinoffs... though I'm not sure if you can get a "Game Over" screen on those. It could also have included the death animations of Link in Souls Calibur II, abd maybe the Smash series. There's also GBA A Link to the Past, which has a slightly different death, thanks to Young-Link-esque sounds and such. If OoT and MM were shown twice (3DS and N64), there's no reason not to show that one too. But those things aside, it was a very good, cool video.
*In BOTW the 'game over' screen changes depending on what you died of. If you died by frost or by drowning then it'll appear blue. If you get struck bf lightning or attacked by an electric enemy then you'll have a yellow screen. Any other death will be the default red 'game over'.*
Why didn't you show the ultimate game over in Majora's Mask when the Moon is falling in Termina ? It's by far the best game over scene in the entire series.
0:35 Only those who played this game in the NES knew the true horror of have advanced like a lot in the game, get this screen and realize that you didn't change the battery of your cartridge, so you will have to start the game from the beginning... Dude... Losing the Cross really hurted me.
Ah, the nostalgia of dying in Breath of the Wild- *However, I will admit that Phantom Hourglass game over scared the living life out of me when I was 5*
I'm wondering where games like Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD are....yes they may be remakes but they're still Zelda titles and should still be included
