The N64 one (0:54) is awesome. It starts off with an absolutely miserable sound that lets you know you're definitely a loser. But then slowly, quietly, the violins creep in and a steady groove follows, reminding you to hit that retry button and do better next time. There is always a new tomorrow!

I love how up to Mario Kart 7, the "Now Try For a Trophy" themes were sad and "loser"y, but in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, it's got a little bit of a "Sonic Lost World Map Theme" feel to it, or something.
