It’s insane how much work was put into those sprites in Dream Team to make them feel coherent with the fully 3D environments, it’s WAY ahead of it’s time in terms of the “HD-2D” artstyle trend we see now with more and more RPG’s and even still looks better than most of them! It’s no wonder then that Dream Team took the longest to develop (3 years) and the subsequent remakes after looked a lot less impressive because they had way less development time (and most likely crazy crunch). Part of me wishes they stuck to the sprites in 3D environments style for Brothership, but I completely understand from budgettary and scale reason why they couldn’t and went full 3D with cel-shading, which also looks great.
Mario and luigi has the best combat system out of any rpg I have ever played. It's just so robust and unique, and you feel like theres no down time at all during combats unlike your typical rpg games where you'd spend most of your time waiting. So glad the series finally had another chance.
I'm playing my first (Superstar Saga remake) and couldn't agree more, no down time. I just wish it was a bit harder, I'm at the later half of the game and still have most of the items I've collected because I didn't have to use them yet. I get that it's kids friendly, but for that case there's easy mode.
And besides the combat, the thing I like the most about the RPG series (both Paper and M&L) is the writing. Most Mario games don't even have lines, and the RPG games always impress me with how funny and irreverent they are.

AlphaDream was founded in 2000 and went bankrupt in 2019. However, I heard that most former AlphaDream employees did join companies under Nintendo like Monolithsoft, so the spirit is still alive.
I hope so, but it's weird that it's silence radio from her since the announcement of the game. When Live A Live Remake and Super Mario RPG Remake were announced, she immediately post on Twitter/X that she was back.

I wouldn't forget that I played these games except Mario and Luigi Dream Team or the remakes I will play Dream Team someday and Brothership and the remakes too I'm also continuing Mario and Luigi Paper Jam btw but it's on my emulator but not anymore.
