If you KO Giratina when you fight it the first time in Platinum, you’ll get another chance once you enter the hall of fame. It will be level 70 in the rematch.
No need to worry if you accidentally KO it or you run from it. If you do either of those, just defeat the champion and enter the hall of fame. Then it will keep coming back until you catch it.
