It was a great game It was the first FPS game I ever played Together with Serious sam: the first encounter And I was like 8 or 9 years old Don't judge me
I loved playing these games late at night as a kid when everybody else were asleep, booming the entire house and pissing my parents off when it was too loud. Good times... To hear about a fourth game drove me to hype.
I remember when the first Serious Sam came out. I was thinking, "this is pretty cool." But I never could've imagined how it would grow to become such a long-lasting franchise with so many installments. I'm glad they kept the kamikaze voice the same all along.
You kidding me? PS2 would've exploded from SS2. Look at the insane texture detail, the level size, skyboxes, decals, crumbs, LOD, enemy counts, effects, water reflections, it even supports HDR rendering. Suppose you meant X360? SS2's textures are so good that it looks even better than most X360 titles. Fantastic even today, especially if you play at 4K.
I loved Serious Sam 2 to bits! The artwork was more cartoon-ish. But there were way more levels than the previous installments. And it was funny because it broke the 4th wall quite a few times.
I am really disappointed in the game tho, like they took 9 years? And all they came up with is a prequel and not just that, the amount of bugs, glitches are not countable, the graphics are not graphics of a 2021 game, but like 2010. Also they weren't creative with the guns because this game has the most least amount of Aresnal and it is kinda Unrealistic that u hold 2 Miniguns in one hand. They could have done much better working on this game and not just use their independent Engine, if they used like unity or Unreal Engine with the arts and some help of artists, the game could have gotten way better than other games and also make a sequel of the game by showing us who Mental or Tah-UM is and his origins. I give the game like 4/10
There was also an android game called "run sam run" where you touch the screen to change the direction sam is moving in order to dodge incoming werebulls
I’ve only ever played the first game, and it still holds up today. I played it recently and I’ll never get tired of the constant AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH (boom)
How the arghhhh came to creation. Devs: so how can we make this game unique? Give our players the sense of ownership. Dave: I'll be back I just need to grab something from my car. (Walks down stairs and trips) ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Devs: Dave you're a genius!
This is one of those games I forgot existed. I don't know why. I loved playing it on the GameCube with Monkey ball and Baldurs gate. For some reason I just forgot this one. But hearing those bomb guys and seeing that arena from it gave me goosebumps.
Yeah, even today after almost 20 years i still play this game and it is my favourite. That Mayan temple's deep in the Jungle this is full of mysteries.
Im crying. I haven't played serious sam from 2013... And its changed so much.. i remember playing it on my windows 7 the 2 encounter ;( if your og you'd understand...
This brings back memories. When I was a child, I used to work in my grandfathers office. He had an old computer there and I would play serious sam for hours, all the way through the night.
Well its a long complicated story . Short version of it is there is a godlike entity that controls all those monsters. His name is Mental . Mental is conquering planets one after another and force them to submit to him or face extinction. The strange thing is Mental tried to conquer the earth before even humans ever existed. The earth was inhabited by super intelligent race called sirians . Sirians fought Mentals alien invasion. And ultimately both sides ended up with severe loses . Mental failed with his invasion and decided that destroying the planet was the only choice left. Gathering all his magic power to destroy earth . The sirians used a force shield coating the earth to repel Mental ultimate attack . His attack was so strong that even the energy of all the earth wasn't enough to stop his attack . Which is why sirians left with no choice but to use thier life energy too . The attack was replled . Alien invasion withdrawn and Mental Went to hibernation for millions of years. On the other hand the sirians went extinct. every single one of them died saving the planet but paying the ultimate price. Before they went extinct and when the invasion was still in early stages they invented a time machine called the time lock . In attempt to reverse time before the invasion occurred but sadly they didn't have the time to activate it . In SS3 BFE (before encounter) the story begins . Humans discovered the time lock and trying to activate it . In the last chapter Sam successfully activated the time lock but Mental had awoken. to finish what he start. this time he sends the moon to collide with earth. But Sam jumps to the timelock in the last second. Teleporting him back in time millions of years and this is where the first encounter takes place then comes the second encounter. In the end of the second encounter you get inside a space rocket . Traveling to a planet where Mental is still conquering in attempt to kill him . And this where SS2 takes place . The new game coming in 2021 is a prequel to what happened in SS3 BFE. So uptill now the latest events in the story are in SS2 . Last thing to say that Mental and Sam have blood bond idk how the fuck and why but its a thing (you can kinda confirm it cuz if you notice sam actually understands alien languages) .
@@sierra6321 Thats a NEuroTRonically Implanted Combat Situation Analyser which he has implanted in his head. For short it is named NETRICSA or nicknamed Netty by Sam. It can at the very least translate ancient egyptian.
You're both talking outta your asses here. Croteam tried something different with SS2, hence why they went with a different artstyle, which I dig. Despite looking somewhat cartoony, it's also gory and detailed as hell. The overall variety of enemies, levels, bosses, weapons, vehicles, and etc. is nothing short of staggering, the levels are so rich in detail, many secrets, great soundtrack, big levels, and an overall long experience. They certainly had the biggest budget and spent it wisely with SS2.
I hope Croteam keeps the " serious " line for the sequel, better graphics is always nice, and jokes too. Best ones are the BFE / First HD / second HD. Sam 2 is a test for the new graphic engine that used for the BFE but never less still much fun and colorful.
Funny, SS2 is actually bigger than any other Sam game. The levels are just so rich in detail, enemy variety, 7 bosses, vehicles, great soundtrack. So much effort was put.
0:00 OMG. I haven't played this game in like 15 years but these sounds are so familiar to me. Never thought I would feel so much nostalgia for a DOOM clone
@@burney7998 Isn't it? In doom, you're a macho guy going around killing demons. Here you're a macho guy going around killing monsters. The plot lines are different. But the core game mechanic is pretty much the same. Even the weapons.
Bro I was so young when this game came out and I’ve had memories of it but could never remember the name until my older brother told me. So glad I found it lol
