Good information. I've got the 14" Evolution Rage 2 saw that works GREAT!! I wish it had the quck release but a heck of alot better then the Dewalt chop saw I started witth. This is a 14" with a cast base instead of a stamped base and it has a chip tray. One thing you don't do with these saws is let the motor slow down before cutting completely through (the little teeth do NOT like that)! I also have the 10" Rage 3+ multipurpose sliding mitre with the single bevel. Got it mounted on a HF roll around saw stand (fantastic). The bad thing (which is good) is it has a 1" blade mounting hole and you can't find a lot of blades with that hole (Evolution has them), most are 5/8". I like the Evolutions saws. i have this saw but my blade turns not the back plate. it makes it much eaisier to work with the material if the material is very long. These saws are great!

I got a rage saw a few years ago, but this looks like it has a much better clamping system. It's great to cut metal, or even wood that may have nails in it.

I have used it for wood in a pinch when I didn't want to drag out my miter saw for sure 😎

The Fein (Jancy) Slugger 14" chop saw is a great saw also and is very comparable to the Evolution. The only significant difference I have found is that the Evolution saw incorporates tool-less fence adjustment, whereas the Fein uses a hex key that stores in the saw's base. Both saws weigh in at 55lbs. When using 14" blade both saws perform the same although the Evolution can accept a 15" blade but I've never used it with one though. I bought the Fein saw because they make exceptional tools and I had no prior experience with Evolution brand tools. However after using both saws, I wish I would have saved $150 and went with the Evolution.

Diablo blade for bi-metal on regular miter table chop saw with speed control as and option? For anyone on a budget. For professional work, just buy the dedicated tool. Love the clamp.
