If you have a friend or a local library who have a 3d printer if you dont have one yourself, then you can 3d print a knob. I sure wish i had one when i was lowering a engine in a car many years ago so i could control the lowering way better.
tHanks for the video When you said you used one at work and wanted one in your shop....Those are the kinds of words that make me think Made in USA rocks!
I have a press similar to yours. I got bored and bought some 2x3 angle iron 3/16" thick. Cut and welded them to the inside of the C channel sides like 4ft all the way up and down.. Drilled the 1" holes for the bars to pass through. Just reinforcement if you do a lot of heavy pressing.
@4:49 one other options is to put a small chamfer on the die to clear the weld. I've wanted to get one of these for soooooooooooo long but I never remember when I have extra cash. lol
To be honest you shouldn’t have to face off the angle. That should be done and really for what they charge for these it should come completely assembled. Cash cow and you still have to do the work. Might as well just buy the material and make it all yourself. Your literally making it yourself anyways lol air Jack is a nice addition lol did that to the one I build so so much nicer lol
I believe they have the option for you to buy. It welded together . And I think the cost argument is going to be regional / geographic. Because I couldn't even start to buy the materials for the price of this thing in my area. And also if your value your time, this is a great deal. Biscuit takes about an hour and a half to assemble. You'd have much more time into that making it from scratch. Especially the machined finger clamp. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel 😎🙏👊
@@amcustomfab that’s great to k ow then for anybody looking to order. By the way loves your video of the trade so very good video. And your mic wasn’t horrible by any means lol. And when your little helper was helping you I foreseen what was gonna happen with the ratchet lol!!!
Are the teeth chromoly? carbon steel? Hardened steel? What about the mount for the teeth? I doubt standard carbon holes wouldnt warp under 20 ton pressure.
