WASH Talk with Mejbah Uddin Chowdhury:
Mejbah Uddin Chowdhury joins us from the Public Health and Environmental Engineering (PH2E) Lab at the University of Victoria. Prior to joining PH2E, Mejbah worked as the Manager of the WASH Program at Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. He has many years of WASH experience working at Cox's Bazar, and he will be sharing insights on his involvement in sanitation projects during his WASH talk.
Talk Description:
At the beginning of the response in Rohingya camps at Cox's Bazar, FSM management was focused on basic latrines and simple sludge collection and disposal systems to address immediate needs. Over time, as the camp population grew and conditions changed, FSM strategies gradually moved towards more advanced and sustainable solutions considering the sanitation chain. This presentation will highlight the subsequent adaptations and developments of FSM systems made over time.
