I’ve been playing Evony since 2020, free to play, I’ve seen videos from the most famous players trying to explain battle mechanics and NONE of them have ever got close to this fundamental explanation with math formulas, great explanation that I’m sharing with my friends on my server
I haven't played evony in almost a year and for some reason I am still watching this whole video. It's great and you are a clever chap 🧠👍 looking forward to you getting into all sort of clever things :)
I have never seen a function or any math that validates and predicts battle results like this. You have my attention!!! You are doing gods work while having a little fun along the way my liege. I have liked and subscribed and look forward to future videos. PS if you need a helping hand on that smoke detector battery let me know. 😂
Well im gonna say it. Hell yeah. you dived into stuff that ive never had anyone try to break down. freedom and miser perhaps get a little close but nothing like this . this deep dive is exactly what one needs. yeah its a waste of money, time but you are helping us that still like the game. even though it is a greed machine now. I would like to see more. hope you find the time.
Great video, the intro was hilarious. Hoping to see the excel document with the next video, as the base formula for the mechanics does not show clearly which attach and defence stat is from the attacher and defender.
You asked if there's anything we'd like you to cover in future videos. Actually, I'd like to see your take on some of the things you mention near the end of the video: good free generals, defeating stronger opponents, T1 defense, and of course those "game breaking glitches". Also, it would be interesting to explore the differences between HP and defense more, and which one is more important for which situation. A lot of people assume HP and def just stack together, so therefore since HP boosts are bigger numbers HP is more important. I have no idea if they stack or not, but I'm skeptical. Potentially it's like saying 2 quarters is worth more than 1 dollar because 2 is more than 1.
Use the simulator in my next video and change the def and HP. You will see how it affects the battle. GENRALLY HP will be better. I haven't found any scenarios where defense is better even though technically it could be. I plan on going over the other stuff in a future video.
It's been a year since this video was first released. The intro and outtro about this being a horrible game are still true😂 However, these videos seem focused on PvP, cav against ranged, archers vs ground, so on and so forth. Do you have something to explain boss monsters and Evony power mechanics? Why does someone who has 3billion in total power take injuries against a B15 Phoenix with 247M power? How does what general used with what skill books, blazon, gear, cultivation, dragons, spiritual beast, aughgggg... factor together?
Wow. The best video ever on evony! First time evony math is recovered :) Should be the first one you see :) thanks so much! Cant wait to see all of them. And intro is hilarious 😂
Awesome videos man! Thanks for your hard work of finally working out the elusive mechanics. Can't wait to see what else you're working on, it's definitely going to be a game changer.. The huge weakness seems to be the A/A+D formula, my heads in overdrive trying to find the exploit from it 😆
Sometimes we scout a player or even get an attack lost scout to see if we can deal damage, but it always end up being a matter of try and see. I will grab your formula and combine it into an excel formula. I'll try to make it the most accurate possible so next time we face a player, just entering buffs and troops we can calculate what rally is better to deal the best damage or if we will deal damage, and then also rework our layers.
I have a formula that calculates how many scores we can get in KE/SvS/ battlefield and how much the power exchange will be. Now I will put it together with how many troops we need to send based on our alliance buffs. I would like to know if you have answers about how rallies work. Buffs and debuffs. Etc
@@dennisrodriguez3689 I will share a simple excel battle simulator that you can use. I realized some of the (k) troop modifiers I shared in this video are inaccurate and will give an updated list soon.
Hi, I've been working on the game since I'm on it with a fresh view (months ago), going over myth, explaining why T12 is that great (stats/cost of troops lower) I've always broke down game mecanics and formulas, esp in MMORPG games. I'd be happy to help and share information/testings and why not, try to build a battle simulator out of it. Since I'm starting to work on data analysis/AI and machine learning aswell, we could build a model/algorithm to propose an optimal response/strategy against a specific setup.. A lot of possibilities which could be interesting. Great work tho, had not enough knowledge to uncompile game data.
its nice to see a base formula for how everything works but the tricky part comes in when you add peoples techs buffs/debuffs, flats vs % refines etc who knows how long that would take to work out haha
Exactly. I think this formula is only useful in reevaluating battles to understand what happened and what you could improve on. It's not for trying to calculate how many of what troops you have. I have a separate sheet that breaks down all the buffs you can have and adds them together to give you an exact number for your troops attack. Even if you look at your buffs from a battle report, they will not include any flats from the enemy or any fractional buffs from Blazons.
too toxic of a game, turned my life upside down, left after one year of grinding and at k31. The tipping point was me coming 6th in svs once again cause some 1b bloke at the end of the war decided to drop bubble and do some stupid attacks. Grinding sucks but attacking and burning barbarian castles was fun. the hazy battle mechanics is what kept the game interesting in my opinion. left the game for 2 or so months and I couldn't be happier. great video and a piece of advice to the active players, don't act like a kid and throw tantrums, if the game makes you happy then keep playing. otherwise just walk away. and please don't do kill events on your own server unless you want it to become toxic af
too late on my server. At LEAST four crybaby coiners take over world chat almost every week during kill event. I would move but have good alliance with R5 that's seen most of everything. Bigger players always leave the server after a day of it so just gonna hang and make the best. Solid advice.
Great info. I’ve been waiting for someone to crack the code and get in depth mechanic info. Really looking forward to the rest of it. Hope Evony doesn’t shut you down first 😂 Ps. I have a mind boggling report that I’ve been scratching my head about and would like you to check it out if you have the chance to determine how siege completely obliterated a ground march
low tier siege generally will attack ground first. So if you have powerful and plentiful siege, you can destroy ground before they arrive. However, the damage is significantly reduced.
Hi. Great video. Can you do some research to prove the mechanics behind troop HP + defense. It has been explained that you need to drain the defense of a troop to send them to the hospital. And if you take away 1 Health Point (HP), the troop will go to the holy palace. With this explanation above some have turned debuffing defense (Harald). Hope you will prove or disprove this theory. thanks in advance.
Huzzah!! SOMEONE FINALLY TELLS THE TRUTH! I have watched so many of these “how-to” videos for Evony and have come to the conclusion……….this is a TERRIBLE ADDICTIVE GAME. Everyone is only bragging what THEY did, and leaves beginners like me, in the dark. We are so happy you have progressed in Evony, but after spending a small fortune , I realize the game won’t proceed nicely without you giving it more and more money. And I’m talking hundreds!! Crazy………not all of us are able to master the mechanics of this.
Many of the top players have spent thousands on this game. I think it's fun to challenge yourself by playing the game and spending as little money as possible. Small F2P players can beat big spenders. But it's not easy and nearly impossible if you don't know what you are doing.
You give a perfect example bro.. But what about those who's very poor in mathematics at school and I'm from one of them 😆 Seriously want to learn about these mechanics how it's actually works
Looking at the table from left to right and top to down, for Range, which is for the attack? Is is Top to down at range colom, or it's from left to right.. i want to make my multiplication
I want the priority part explained more. I know ground can only reach mounted and ground in the first some turns, so that ground attack mounted and ground first most battles. But whether or not can ground try to move towards ranged if they have ground in range but ranged out of range?
Interestingly, Evony, in the recent update, revealed that the ranged, ground, mounted have 20% extra damage against each other when weakened, and siege 50% against each other. If they did not lie to us, where should the 20% and 50% be placed? In the troop modifier k, I cannot find any pattern like having 20% and 50% involved. Only the k of RvM 1.2 matched the 20%.
I want more details about how ground will bypass mounted in order to reach range and siege. The mechanics about ground and cav attack seems a bit different becouse of the troop speed. If you can show both mechanics in more details i would appreciate
Thank you for this video. I hope you release more videos on the troop priority realistic part. One thing I noticed, that siege you mentioned had enemy siege has priority 1 and then ranged as priority 2. So based on your statement at the 12 min mark, you mentioned that at the start of the battle the lower tier siege doesn't have enough bonus range to attack the top tier siege, so it targets ground (priority 3). In this case shouldn't the low tier siege attack the archers (priority 2)?as the archers bonus range is still smaller than a t1 siege bonus range. Or do the archers start at a very far distance from the siege in the battlefield?
I will go into more detail in this. I will try to break down the videos in shorter segments since I don't think anyone wants to sit through an hour PowerPoint of Evony mechanics. 😆 but what you are asking is very vital in understanding how siege rallies work.
@@DerrickDefies if you release such a video even on PowerPoint, I know I will watch it and I will make a bunch of people watch it. Its much more critical to me to understand the mechanics than throw money at this game 😁. Thank you again. Looking forward to your videos
First of all this is awesome information. However, I'm still a bit confused about the Troop Priority. In your big battle example, you indicated that the defenders mounted troops would attack the highest tier Ground troops first. However, the Troop Priority chart shows that Range troops should be their first priority. I'm guessing it has something additional to do with "...that is in range". But I didn't see a clear explanation of when different troops come into "range" of each other.
The priority is what troops your units will target first. Mounted troops target ranged troops last. My chart may be confusing to read. The other chart I have is who attacks first in a solo vs solo battle. In that case ranged troops will attack first since they have the range advantage over ground.
Counter-attack obviously caused less damage than a normal attack. Have you found the counter attack formula? It looks like the wounded is proportional to the attacker itself, not defender. 500/43 = 11.6 853/74 = 11.5 206/18 = 11.4
Calculating counterattack damage is easy. Lets say you have a 1000 troop layer of T9 ground. They attack the enemy T14 ground and kill 10 troops. Those 10 T14 Ground will attack your T9 layer and kill 5 troops. (these are random estimates and will very depending on buffs)
@@DerrickDefiesThank you! I already watched the part 2 and saw the formula. Interesting. If I did not misunderstand it, according to the part 2: if a layer of M A's kills a layer of N B's, then A will be killed L troops in counter-attack. L = how many B's N A's can kill. In other words, we take the number of of B's killed as the number of A's attacking in the CA phase, and the number A kills B in this phase becomes A's dead troop. So the killed in the CA phase comes from the attacker itself against the defender, not the defender against attacker. The more powerful the attacker is than the defender, the more CA damage the attacker gets. Weird and interesting.😅
GREAT VIDEO! two things, though... please change your smoke detector battery No... just that one thing. You are right, this game sucks. I have met some cool people from all over the world, though.
Interesting and informative. But a simple question: if I join a huge monster rally from one of the big guys in my alliance with only 1 T1 ground troop, why does that get hit? From the video, the T14 mounted troops should hit the monster first, after which it's gone. Or do ground troops reach the monster before mounted? That would mean joining using 1 ranged troop would mean it needs to walk all the way back...lemme test that.
Yep, that worked. 1 T1 ranged and 1 T1 mounted both do have to walk back. Ranged never gets in range obv and mounted is lower tier. Thanks! How ground troops get there first is a question of distances and speeds (350 vs 600), of course...
The mechanics of monster battle is different from troop battle (PvP, Barbarian). It seems much simpler and may look like this: Ground first, then siege, mounted, ranged. When one unit attacks the monster, the monster attacks it back right away. But I guess the order of attack of the four types is the same as troop battle.
There is an added mechanism, you haven't added here, whilst it is possible for ground to pass mounted and kill other troops, one thing that should be noted is that siege itself can be protected by mounted returning a second time and can protect you being zero.
First time playing, and confused. I'm a Level 17 and when i PvP, 1/3 of my force dies, and I just wound their entire army, for little resources. What am i doing wrong?
I'm guessing it must be the same for PvM, so if you send a range attack to monsters with a bunch of 1 troop layers would that stop them to get to your ranges before you kill them?
No, I have tried this several times and had strange results. I will continue to look in Monster mechanics and see if I can come up with anything valuable to share.
fighting monsters each tier attack in a round, ranged do not engage at all until all other troops are at their wounded cap. if you send t14 mounted and t13 mounted and t14 arch. t14 mounted will attack first if they do not defeat monsters then they monster will strike them dealing damage. then round 2 t13 attack monster. if the monster lives it attacks back and deals damage to those units. the archers are skipped because they do not engage until mounted are at pve wounded cap of 5 to 10% rounds continue until monster is slayed or 5 or 10% wounded
@@jimmybobby9059 This is how I understand it as well. evonyguidewiki.com/en/monster-battle-mechanics-en/ has been quite accurate in how it all works. I haven't found anything too useful. Though its technically possible to calculate the HP/Attack/Defense of all the monsters with my formula, I have not had the time to do that.
Good effort but I have many battle reports proving some of your conclusions wrong. For example, you are saying range will not attack any other troop until all mounted layers are gone. (11.26). When defending with t1 mounted, the attacking range troops will kill a certain number of my top tier range and ground if unghosted,, even when I havd a successful defence with many many mounted still left.
I would have to see the report but that sounds like counterattack damage. If your Ranged units are attacking the enemy ranged units, they will receive counterattack damage. Same with your ground. I hope that explains your reports!
I will address this is in another video. I wanted to show this without buffs/debuffs to not overcomplicate the formula. Troop base stat (Buffs - debuffs) + flat stats is how you get your final troop stats. The debuff's cant debuff your percent more than half its value.
I want to know if the killed troops that you can't heal in svs or that you got from ke data is wiped from the game forever and even evony can retrieve them
I did lots of mock battles and stayed up all night trying to come up with a formula. What really helped me was siege units. They have 100HP 50DEF and 100Attack. once I understood what DEF does, I was able to work out troop modifiers based on how many wounds I had.
