Looks easy enough to fit , but can't help thinking why honda didn't fit one as standard as it's one of the major requirements to stop stones going through the radiator 🤷🏼♂️
Terry. Thanks for your videos. Very useful. I have the same bike. Fitted some fork guards and am waiting for my SHAD top box. Will probably get this radiator guard too. I notice you don't have any engine bars on your bike. Can't decide whether to get any or not. Think generally they are pretty ugly. Thinking maybe a fame slider might be the way to go (Puig possibly). Any thoughts. Chris
Hi Chris I chose the honda bars which sit higher, I haven't fitted the lower engine bars deliberately. The logic being when the bike is on its side the engine should not touch down due to the higher bars protecting the plastics. Lower bars will protect the engine but my thoughts are they will touch down early and momentum will cause yhe bike to pivot over them. Horses for courses and its all personal choice. Hopefully they are never put to the test. I am considering fitting the barkbuster hand guards when cash allows. I've heard great reviews about their ability to reduce damage to the bike in low speed spills. But hopefully not planning on dropping with any luck. They are great bikes in my opinion very pleased with mine.
I have just finished fitting my radiator guard , it was hard trying to push into place but I got there in the end . Thankfully watching your videos helps even when I order parts . Are you going to fit a rear hugger ?
Hi Paul the guard is fairing well and will be put to the test Thursday Friday this week when I complete the ABR 2 moor challenge. Regarding a hugger, I can't find one I like so I'm going to fit a R&G shock sock when it turns up. Although I've bought some mouldable plastic and I'm going to attempt to make one. It will be just for fun to see if I can do. Watch this space. Looking at the huggers there seems to be two types the full on ones that replace the chain guard and the mud flap type. The latter look neater but I'm not convinced about how they fit. The full hugger type just bolt on so seem more secure. What do you think?
@@terrysmith-NC750X I don’t know really I guess for me a rear wheel hugger , it will stop the spray pouring over the shock . I will watch this space see how you get on with your choice. I’m not mechanically minded like you, so I can only do the basics .
The rear huggers are easy to fit buddy, there's not a lot you can do wrong. Most are self explanatory and just involve removing existing bolts and refitting. But if your worried, wait for me to get one but it may have to wait a month. Alternatively I'll find a good guide and post a link for you.
looks good and seemed a relatively easy fit. Have noticed your bike sports different tyres to mine [ Dunlop Trailmax D609] Must be what's available at time of build?
