EVs Owners Are FED UP and REVERSING BACK to Gas Cars!

Many electric vehicle owners are in a state of desperation due to charging issues and concerns about the range of their vehicles, as electric cars are not yet competitive with gas-powered vehicles. Owners like them often find out the hard way what not to do anything. They've had enough and are now converting back to gas-powered autos. The reasons are various, so let's check some of them.
Number seven: Electric vehicles are yet supplementary.
There was tremendous expansion in the electric vehicle market in 2021 and 2022. It wasn't just an era of early adopters; it was a moment when wealthy households were trying out new things. It was a moment when they aspired to be in vogue. However, at what point did these EV owners consider giving up their gas-powered vehicles? No, that's not correct. They bought electric vehicles for fun rather than out of necessity, and they never went electric entirely. Their electric cars, on the other hand, have traditionally been seen as supplementary transportation in such homes. The fact that electric automobiles are typically seen as a secondary or even tertiary mode of transportation suggests that they are primarily used for local trips. For longer and more demanding excursions, internal combustion engines remained dominant. Simply told, these owners didn't replace anything; no, they just added another car to their garage, which happens to use electricity as a power source. They never had a serious commitment to transition to the so-called green energy. So in most situations, they're not interested in getting another one. They've obtained their EVs, tried out new technologies, and decided that they would prefer stick to more convenient IC cars. With that in mind, it doesn't surprise that just 37% of Mustang Mach-E owners acquired another EV. On the other hand, nearly half of them acquired another internal combustion vehicle. Things aren't much different with other car makers and models, except for Tesla, which still has a high percentage of loyal customers, most likely because the vast majority of zero-emissions enthusiasts choose this brand, while others are mostly chosen by customers who put convenience and practicality in focus.

And if we all drove electric, where would all the electricity come from? Solar, nope. Wind, nope, hydro, nope...... Coal and nuclear power!
@jeffl4810
@jeffl4810 2 месяца назад
@@christianwn Nope... Electricity will always be a mix of sources. Coal is rapidly dying out. Oil's next. Natural gas will be the last to go. Nuclear is too expensive. Solar is rapidly taking over - panels are now dirt cheap. Wind is growing rapidly, and with the massively tall turbines, get much more steady state air flow. Managed hydro is aiding is storage. HVDC can and is helping reduce storage needs. Utility scale batteries are a thing now, and rapidly being deployed.

@@christianwn@christianwn And the kicker, EV's actually use *LESS* electricity then ICE... And without FF's

You are kidding me, aren't you? What do you think makes the tyres on an electric car? What do you think makes the paint, the foam in the seats, the components in the cooling system, the door seals, the windscreen wipers and the insulation in the wiring. What do you think powers the machinery that harvests the raw materials? What do you think then freights those materials across the world to be processed and then transport the cars back out to market? What do you think? Top tip: Oil companies aren't losing money.

Yeah, there's almost nothing in this that sounds remotely accurate for the EV owners I know, myself included, and not just Tesla owners. I am not depressed. My EV has plenty of range, I have no issues charging at home or on the road, and the performance is outstanding. EVs are plenty competitive, if you speak to owners, instead of reading the agenda-driven narrative that some outlets are peddling. My own fuel costs dropped by over 70% when I replaced my ICE with an EV. I haven't been to a gas station since the first week of March, 2022. Maintenance costs are essentially based on how much I use the windshield wiper spray. No tire issues at all, because I drive normally, not like I'm in a race. I kept my previous car 19 years, waiting for EV prices to come within reach. I didn't do it to be 'in vogue', I did it because it makes sense economically and environmentally. My wife still drives her ICE, because we can't afford two car payments at the same time. (so much for this being a rich people's product) She's way more conservative than I am, so when we do replace her car, it might be a hybrid, but I'm working on getting her to switch all the way, too. If we go out as a family, we use the EV because it's cheaper to do so. If I drive long distance, I take my EV, because it's cheaper to do so, and the charging network is WAY more filled in than most people realize, it's just not omnipresent like gas stations are. Yet. My EV is not a secondary or tertiary means of transportation. Heck, just for fun, I drove 150 miles just to reach the start of a drive up a mountain road I thought might be fun. Topped off the battery on the way, and topped off again on the way home. 370 miles total, and cost me less than ten bucks for the electricity. (Both stops were free. I only paid for what I put in at home.) The Mustang Mach-E stat seems cherry-picked, but is also seems weird, as the model really hasn't been widely available for very long yet. On average, Americans are holding on to cars longer than ever, so who is getting rid of a new car? US sales/deliveries: 2020 3 2021 27,140 2022 39,458 2023 40,771 But hey, you're probably going to believe what you want to, and I'm not going to convince you of anything.

I went balls deep into EVs. My wife and I have 2024 genesis Gv70s. Works great for us. This car has one of the fastest DC fast charging. I have charging at home and after my first bill the combine increase is $60 less per month to have a full tank at all times. I’m leasing and will upgrade to the next gen EVs very shortly. I don’t think you should own EVs but for leases they are great.

I can see from the comments that this RU-vid video has stirred up a lot of comments about how this video is strongly anti electric vehicle from people who like electric vehicle cars. However I worked for 34 years for the Los Angeles DWP. There is one very obvious problem in the state of California and other states in the United States. The problem is this. If there is a large increase in the percentage of electric vehicles. That will be a lot of cars that need electricity recharging. This will result in a large increase in the demand for electricity to charge up all those electric vehicles. The big problem is that the present electrical system is unable to meet this huge increase in the demand for electricity. The electrical system will require that more sources that generate electricity will need to be built. In the state of California most of this would have to come from building electricity generating stations that burn natural gas to generate electricity. Solar and Wind can meet only a limited increase in demand for electricity. The problem is that huge amounts of land has to be covered with either solar panels or wind farms to generate the amount of electricity that one generating station burning natural gas can do. Also wind and solar power output is subject to changes in weather and day and night cycles. A natural gas burning generating station electricity output can be adjusted to whatever is needed by the electrical system, no matter what the weather conditions are or time of day happens to be.

Sponsored by Shell! I don't even own or drive an EV and i know 90% of this is absolute false. Tyre wear is slightly higher not "drastically", roughly 10% giving you drive a similar way to an equivalent ICE car. Every single EV owner I've spoken too has said they spend almost nothing on maintenance compared to their old bangers. Im sure the people who own an EV as a second car probably do replace their ICE vehicle with another ICE/Hybrid one for out of the way trip when they need to tow. No ones surprised legacy auto manufacturers made garbage EVs!

Looking at the title of this video, I knew this would be filled with lies. I drive a plug-in hybrid, which was okay for four years ago. We're now shopping for a full EV. Most people drive about 60 kilometres a day maximum, and my PHEV only had 40 kilometres, so I was needing to go to the pump once a month. That's better than a full gas vehicle, but I don't have the time to wait for a Costco gas station 30+ minutes, when I could just go home, plug in the car and have a full battery when I need it. Everything that's listed in this video is a case of picking up the worst EV stats possible, except for Teslas, which this video seems to be in love with, but is still trying to bash. Cherry-picking of stats and filling in the rest with lies, this video is as useless as you can get.

We barely started burning oil and gas 100 years ago. We've burnt massive quantities ever since. With every year, increasing the amounts we burn, minus the last few years, where we've actually slightly reduced consumption. This trend is accelerating due to efficiencies and things like EV's and heat pumps. This is a good thing. Environmental and massive pollution issues aside, we don't have enough Fossil fuels to support our current consumption. EV's can be powered by almost any energy source. Even if FF's power EV's, its several times more efficient, and after considering the reduction of Fossil fuel industry, possibly even higher.
