Really fascinating to see the touch part integrated so tightly into the panel itself! - Usually it's an overlay. I wonder if they use the TFT matrix itself for touch sensing?

I was confused by that, I expected to see it as another layer of glass. Maybe they cane use the TFT matrix. Cell Phone screens might have driven that optimization.

@@Elecami Exactly. I believe cellphones are using the TFT matrix for dual duty, but haven't read up on the tech recently.

I was once given a nice Dell monitor that had stopped working because of a bad PSU main filter capacitor. Unfortunately the cap going bad had destroyed more active components in PSU and after replacing some of them I gave up and powered the monitor with an old Laptop power supply externally. I used that monitor for years after "fixing".
