What really struck me about the docu was just how kind Ewan Mcgregor was as a human being. No airs of a Hollywood superstar. Looked after Charlie both physically and emotionally like a true friend would. Very charming dude.
I LOVED this series - from Round, Down to Up! But, what I’m really hoping for now is a music album from Ewan McGregor where he sings acoustic. He has a lovely voice.
both downright top blokes ,the executive at KTM who knocked em back is probably frying burgers, the executive at BMW who helped em out probably lives in his own bavarian castle now
I've just read the book The Long Way Round and I am in awe of what they achieved. I just didn't want the book or the trip to end! It's entirely their fault that my huband and I bought two GS1200 BMW Adventure bikes and experienced the bliss of riding them. We watched The Long Way Down too and found their adventure amazing. I am now on a quest for Charley's book, Race to Dakar, an early Christmas present to myself.
Yara h.o Long Way Round, then Long Way Down from John O’Groats to Cape Town, S Africa. They filmed Long Way Up just last September and we are all waiting for it to come out on Apple’s streaming service.
@@kgsz Im currently watching long way up for the first time. Im not One for pettiness but is it me or do they seem less close onscreen this third time?
+MadHatter Claudio is awesome. I'm Facebook friends with him. He's just as nice as he seems. I had Ewan as a Facebook friend for a time too, until people just starting being jerks to him and he had to close it. It was cool because he was communicating with a few of us about ideas for a new bike trip show with Charlie. I like Charlie, but he was the only one who never responded to anything.
+Lance Lange Did you know that Ewan's also on Twitter and Instagram (and, fortunately, doesn't seem to have as much trouble with people being jerks there as he did on Facebook!)? He's real nice about responding to fans there, too (though he doesn't do it as often as he used to- probably because he has more followers than he can keep track of!), so you could try connecting with him again. :)
People piling on KTM, you should recognize that the KTM guy was right: alone, they couldn't have done it. They managed to get through Mongolia and the Road of Bones only thanks to extensive effort from the crew, including local resources.
Watch Itchy Boots RU-vid if you want to watch someone really traveling by motorcycle.. She is on a trip from Tierra del Fuego to Alaska alone.. truly alone ..no camera crew or support vehicle..alone
KTM ! yeah bad choice! They should have talked with Roger DeCoster, he would have backed them. Who ever at KTM let that one down probably gets an ear full daily.
It took me two months to find out who are (where) the two guys who drove around the World on their Motorbikes. The TV series I followed from the beginning through the end. Well, they were Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman In "𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝" I'm looking for the last one..? (episode) Driving downtown, you come home and the whole town is riding with you. It was fantastic to see
All respect to both gents. However the trick is to do these trips without a support crew and more respect to those who do that. In most instances on their own. I humbly bow to them.
I dig the KTM Adventures, but I think they are more of a Dakar type racer, or close to home adventure bike, as they have chain drive, more difficult to access engine. Love to have both, but I can only afford one adventure bike and I also want it as a long distance, easy to maintain all arounder.
I bet KTM regrets backing out on letting you guys use there bikes now. My next bike purchase was going to be a KTM but now its going to be a BMW because your ride shows just how good the BMW's are. Please don't use KTM on your next ride even if they offer you a hundred bikes.
The fact that Claudio preferred his $1000 Russian bike to the BMW does not support your position. I think they'd have done a lot better with lighter bikes.
As much as I loved the whole Adventure, they were alone, out there in no man’s land, struggling with the elements... and two crew cars with all the supplies in the world. When I did my sojourns thru the Philippines and Indonesia it was - me - just me and my luggage and camera gear... had I disappeared no one would have ever known.
Respect to you man, but to be fair, they tried very hard to never involve the crew - which they seem to have managed pretty successfully until they hit the Mongolian hellscape. From there to Alaska I agree that it was less of a solo biking adventure and more of a generic survivalist tv program.
Charly gets props! Ewan? Eh, man-up-picture boy (but what can you expect from a dick who dumped his wife and kids for the latest update actress?) Honestly, knowing you have all the gear at your fingertips is a hell of a lot more than knowing there is nothing behind you… or just are oblivious (both in my case… wouldn’t do it now!) But they did seem to play out in Mexico where he celebrity status was inviting the possibility of kidnapping… from now on… all adventures are will be on set with millions of insurance to protect cutie-pie from getting his face wreck… 😏
yeaah they live in a different world.it's weird and unfair.i would go if Mister BMW or Mister Harley would give me for Promotion things a nice bike for free.i would go NOW.ahh dont forget to let you fill up the gastank without any gas you are going nowhere
A few times in the series it got a little cringey. Like when he got into accidents and said “I think they started thinking ‘oh my god thats ewan mcgregor’ I wonder if they knew who i am.” 😬😬😬 Thankfully hes not always like this and is pretty low key
@@THEDOORIZCLOSED He only mentioned being an actor or movie star a couple of times. He also mentioned he liked being on a bike because he’s just another bloke on a bike. All the times his fans recognized him, he was always gracious and took photos with them and signed autographs. Also, he’s smart enough to know being a big name movie star opens lots of doors , though he doesn’t overuse it. I’ve seen all the long way rounds, ups and downs. He’s pretty unaffected.
I really don't understand the British humor, how you guys think Jonathan Ross is funny. He try to make funny of everything, is just ridiculous, stupid. Worst, people laugh about it. Honestly. is ridiculous.
humour is different in every country but I don't go to yours and say its ridiculously stupid just because I don't understand it. Besides, if you hate it so much, why are you even here? Honestly, it's ridiculous.
