Ewan's screentime on hotd including blurry 144p pixels in the background, im definitely not obsessed with him this is a fanmade content, all material belong to HBO and GRRM
If you know his story arc.. he’s an incredibly well-written character. That’s why many ppl are rooting for him. Daring, cunning & charming.. a legit Targaryen prince🔥
The show does a great job of making him a well rounded character. The books only have second hand descriptions of his character & it’s basically angry murder kid.
Aemond didn't deserve to loose his eye. He made sure he was never seen as weak again and made sure he was better than his pathetic brother and nephews in every single way
I think the show adapted him well. Creating a mysterious, cold, calculated and wounded character. Good job to the actor for bringing him to life in an impactful way.
He's epic... he and Daemon and their "hmm" noises they make... Matt Smith is fantastic, but Ewan just owns that expression and sound... lends so much depth to Aemond. BTW this entire war is Viserys' fault! I'd have liked to know why he let Otto return! Bad move.
Jace hit Aemond with all his strength and Aemond's cup didn't move half an inch. Aemond pushed Jace with one hand and he's on the ground. Looks like Jace needs to do a lot to live up to his true surname
@@DDiamond8374 Actually, yeah you're right. It would be Jaecerys Waters indeed. Now, if Harwin (assuming he didn't commit treason with Rhaenyra like we know he did) ever took ownership of Bastards and moved them to Harrenhall, would they become Jaecerys and Lucerys Rivers, or just stay Waters until they're Legitimized.
To me Aemond is exactly what I imagine a Targaryen would look like. Platinum hair, fair skin, sharp features and a lean build, the only thing missing is purple eyes (eye). Essentially Targaryens would almost resemble elves minus the pointed ears. If we're here, we all agree that Ewan is doing a magnificent job of portraying him. The actor does well with making his eye look fierce whenever he regards Luke or Jace. He has a confident stride and exudes charisma in every scene he's in. Too bad we won't see any more episodes for 2 years.
@@davidbranson1367 Rhaenyra has blue eyes too, doesn't she? I remember Aemma Arynn did at least, and she was the daughter of Daella Targaryen Overall, I suppose Blue is a good substitute for Purple in this case, if the editing simply can't be done.
11 minutes of screentime with most of it is him in the background has got people writing essays about him full of hate or love. you can't deny how much of an impact he has
I was surprised Aemonds actor was Bigger than Daemon... but even in the new rise of the dragon book there is a picture of them facing off with Aemond being taller and he looks more intimidating..
yesss a lot of people who've read the books have praised this casting choice for how accurate he looks other than Ewan Mitchell's acting as well, he apparently also looked much older than his age in the books
@@Treize132 that's when they're younger or before aemond gets his dragon but i don't think they mention there size when the dance starts.. the new book shows pictures of Aemond with his girl and he's a couple inches taller than his uncle lol
Aemond: Final tribute to the health of my nephews. Jace, Luke, and Joffrey. Each of them handsome, wise… Alicent, thinking: Don’t say it. Don’t f*cking say it. Aemond:…and strong. Alicent, thinking: Goddammit…
Mitchell was literally perfect casting. When Aemond removes his eyepatch, I’m still staring at his non-sapphire eye because his stare is so expressive and intimidating. It’s such a small thing that does so much to give Aemond the presence he was written with. Absolutely excellent
Love the haunting theme they keep reusing in 5:59, 7:40, 9:38 & 11:11 never noticed it hinted at in episode 9 but I like how this is Aemond's theme Edit: I feel the need to edit this because I found more interesting things about this tune lmao This tune actually plays in the very first episode of HoTD right here at 1:59, when Rhaenyra (narrating) says "The only thing that could tear down the House of the Dragon was itself" : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q5Wc2tAWdD0.html Tune repeated in episode 6 when young Aemond sees Dreamfyre at 0:54: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lwJ6Ipbwge0.html In episode 7 (can't find a clip of it) the tune repeats at Laena Velaryon's funeral when Aemond hears Vhagar up in the skies. Repeated when young Aemond first rode Vhagar here in 2 places, 0:08 and 1:55 (more stretched out and in a lighthearted way): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-G28_x7cpoXw.html And then of course a few times in this video. So this theme repeats way too often for it to NOT be Aemond's theme right? Its interesting that the theme is first played in episode 1 when Aemond wasn't even born yet, but only after repeats during his scenes (unless I missed some which is entirely possible). I probably look too much into it but I just love how much work is being put into the music in this show! I don't see this as just Aemond's theme though. More like a destruction of the Dragon House and Aemond being the cause of it. Its cool that this "destruction" was being hinted at throughout the show and we didn't notice it. I also love that the tune plays in some of Aemond's scenes. I interpret this as Aemond being directly responsible for really starting this war, thus causing the House of the Dragon to fall to its doom. Again I'm too obsessed with this but I love finding easter eggs and patterns like this :D
Do you know that within the event of the dance of the dragons, Aemond is the one who sits on the throne the longest? (Aegon & Rhaenyra 6 months each, Aemond 1 year) He may be bold & unforgiving yet when he’s a prince reagent no one dare to challenge his reign. No one dare to touch King’s Landing (Rhaenyra only able to take over when Aemond’s gone) Yes he’s cruel to his enemy yet he protects his loved ones and his loyal ppl. Not even a bad omen.. somehow, it suits him to rule and the iron throne accepts him
I never noticed that Jace digs at Aemond first at the dinner with his speech. We haven’t “seen” each other” and “fond memories of our youth” lol talk about elephant in the room
Gotta love Luce freaking smirking and snickering at Aemond while a pig was placed in front of him. People keep trying to argue "bruh Aemond has beef with a child-" Aemond has been repeatedly passed over and mocked since childhood by everyone in his life. Literally everyone. Its clear he's had e-fucking-nough of them pushing him around. I don't think Luce deserved death but Aemond's rage and bitterness was not unfounded
His 11 mins in just 3 episodes are better than some actor's whole one season🔥 when even writers didn't payed much attention to his script in this season. I want so much from him
It was only a month after the end of s1 and we're already so deprived of new aemond contents. And now we are supposed to wait for 2 years for s2? God help us 😭
Gods the showrunners hate the greens. They tried so hard to make them unlikeable and when that failed they lessened the impact of the blacks’ actions while changing aemond’s character😢
Why would they, the Dance of Dragons takes places over only 2 years and they cast the adult actors before they cast the actors who play their younger counterparts.
The presence he has on screen is incredible, I watch a lot of reactions here on ytb and every time he speaks everyone shuts up and listen, it's awesome lol
Cannot wait to see him do more in this role. Aemond I think will end up being one of the most dynamic characters within the whole show because he’s got so much going on in his head considering he started the fucking war lol. I like how in the book too he comes back to kings landing like a conquering hero despite starting a war. I also love the beginning of his rivalry with Daemon. That face off, and he just grunts like geralt lol. I also think the moment Aemond refused to let Aegon run away is the moment their relationship as brothers pretty much all but ended.
I wonder what his total screen time is in S2? Maybe 20-30mins? Every episode I would look for him and was always disappointed! He will get a lot more time in S3 and a romance, I can't wait....
@@val-xz i just think they under estimated the fans positive response to him after S1. Next season should be very Aemond centric lol considering it will be his last one.
Funny enough everyone tries to argue Aemond would have killed him regardless, but I genuinely think if Luce had done it Aemond would feel some respect for him honoring the debt Aemond felt owed. Granted I can't say it with certainty, but I can easily see it. He's not a one note savage
what is the chance of the "training session of aemond" to be visited by even his nephews. Lets start with obvious matters, As the book describe they met after like 6 yers, that wiill make like 6 yers of lifetime - so, (age of aemond is like 17) plus (age of aegon is betwem 21 or 22 - in math - ( is no shit so he is 21) . Be aware of aemond nephews age - after all this shit, nobody care about my shitty comment, ty.
07:44 now i feel bad for aegon… he literally begged aemond to let him go. he really did not want that life and knew it wasn’t one for him. it looked like aemond was considering, because we all know that’s what he really wanted too. that way he would’ve gotten the throne. but the man found them soon enough. this way we could’ve had aemond and aegon live and maybe not such foolish decisions through aegon’d hand?
I think had Ser Criston not been there Aemond would have taken Aegon up on his offer. Neither of them wanted him to be king, you can definitely see him considering it but he knows that Criston would have never let Aegon go, and if Aemond tried to stop Criston from taking Aegon, he'd be seen as treasonous so he'd lose claim to the crown anyways.
