@@ogerk.1 He did. Rhaenyra was told by King Viserys that humans controlling dragons were an illusion. He told his daughter that himself. Daemon and Caraxes, however, remain a mystery. Daemon received instruction on the proper handling of a dragon as a child, whereas others were presented with an egg. Caraxes was very dangerous and was experienced in battle. The fact that Daemon acquired Caraxes is remarkable. It looks like Caraxes picked Daemon.
@@peytonsmith1062 Vhagar was arguably even more dangerous, she was almost 200 years old, the strongest single being in all of the world as they knew it, she went through all of the aegon's conquest, fought many battles, and the fact that she allowed aemond to be her rider proves that she picked him as much as caraxes picked daemon, and they all went through training to "control" dragons as children, and all the dragon riders do control them in some way, it's not like they are just strapped to the back of the dragon and they fly wherever the dragon flies, it's just that the dragons are not mindless creatures, they are in fact considered to be very inteligent, so they are not puppets doing only what their riders say.
That sigh from Daemon is the kinda sigh that someone does when they are looking at a younger version of themself. Daemon sees Aemond probably in a “awww he is like a younger me, how cute.”
It’s ironic how hilariously weak Harwins kids are considering how he was known as one of the strongest fighters during that time. They didn’t get any of the good genes 😂
@@beatrixxkiddo4584yes tbh it makes me like the greens and really aemond even more seeing how he actually loves his immediate family. And the foreshadow with him and daemond for the book reads is just great
No no he is. He’s quite intelligent and patient. But also a bit cruel, (which I don’t blame him from when he was a kid.) But a fierce warrior/enemy no doubt.
@@kgbeast4541for sure, i side with team green easily though 1. Because I hate Rhaenyra more than Aegon, obviously Aegon is a worse person but he is portrayed to be what he is and has actually been to written to be even worse, the writers, the characters and the fans actually act like Rhaenyra is a good person, that should rule. If there is one thing I hate more than anything in a series it’s a character that I think is clearly bad being portrayed like they are good. 2. A female ruler in a medieval setting is always a bad idea. The two times the Targaryen’s had female rulers one ended with the loss of their dragons and the loss of their power in the end. The second ended with a city of innocents being burned and the Targaryen line being ended.
"Two strong boys." gets me all the time. You can just tell he's being sarcastic 🤣 the cherry cake on top of this line is instead of calling them "men." Aemond called them "boys." 💀
It's because they are literally nicknamed the "strong boys", they aren't men. And they look like their biological father "strong", not like Rhaenyras wedded partner.
Every time he growls, the noise "mmm" is so perfect! It's such a signal that there is so much going on in that brain of his, besides just frustration. Owen plays him so brilliantly and perfectly! He is my favorite character once Owen takes over. I couldn't go with the greens, though, due to Otto's snakiness. I'll always be amazed he didn't kill off his brother...
When I see vhagar chasing lucerys it reminds me of running from my older brother as a child. Screaming and laughing in pure terror as you know you're about to be caught
I guess I just have a team strong black bias (no pun intended) because I never realized until now how much of an absolute victim Aemond was after claiming Vhagar. He did NOTHING wrong. Having dibs on your parent’s dragon has never been a rule and in addition to that, the fight with all the kids was 4 against 1! The twins, Jace and Luke basically tried to jump him and Aemond wasn’t even the one to throw the first blow. He was just defending himself. He even responded to the first act of violence by pushing the twin when he could have just punched her right off the bat. He only started landing blows once he was attacked by more than one. But for some reason, after watching that scene initially, I remember feeling like all involved were equally at fault and wrong when it’s not even close. No wonder he’s still pissed a decade later!
I think the intro for Adulaemond was much better than I've seen people mention - notice how he doesn't react until Luke smirks. He isn't knee jerk, he's calculated. He waits for actual confirmation that they're trying to push his buttons, THEN he gives the 'final tribute'.
Broh the moment when the first dragon attack and lucerys says No, serve me, and the other Dragon get freaking Mad and Aemond star screaming " No no noo" bff you know drama is coming man.
Aemond wanted to be King, when Aegon said he would sail away and never come back. But Aemond never once try to take away the throne from his brother and even died for his cause. He performed his duty for his family.
He's the spitting image of Daemon in that sense. Yearns for the throne of their "weaker" older brother, always looking for an opportunity to become heir, but in the end, never truly tries to take it by force.
When Aemon turned round while he was training with Ser Criston in the yard the two Strong boys where like “wtf? He’s way more of a bad ass than us! And I owe him an eye! Oh fck!”
@@qahnaaringamingandreaction567 and who’s fault is that? Their stepdad is one of the best warriors alive and their mother never thought to train them. Aemond trains so hard to protect himself because of what happened to him
Aemond trained every single day unlike them. He’s better educated, he’s stronger, he’s faster, he’s taller, he’s a better swordsman, a better dragon rider. He even speaks valaryian better
You mean the wife killer and niece molestor, yeah sure he will be the og at that, I never compare aemond to daemon because there is no comparison Aemond till the end or till darkstar brings it😂😂
Its the people who don't know better compare aemond to daemon, aemond is better in every way and he is definitely not a pedo and a wife killer like daemon 😂
I like Vhagars grumpy pensioner vibe and his tired wheezey old victory grunt when he killed the strong lads dragon. Should of had him do a little fart like with Pycelle
Well vhagar is essentially a grandma dragon but still kinda agree but I wish they kept it to the books, where aemond did kill Luke and it wasn't him losing control.
the age difference confuses me somehow. As kids they do'nt seem to be far away from each other, but later he is a young man and Lucaerys and his bro only teens?
I’m just gonna say it. The dragons choose their riders. They are not passed down like heirlooms. While Aemond was a bit of a dick to rub it in Baela’s face after her mother died, he was right in that she should have claimed Vhagar first if she wanted her so badly.
@@micheleford4282 so let's hold one adolescent to a higher moral standard than the rest. One said I'll feed you to my dragon. Another maimed him over an insult
To be fair he claimed Vhagar so quickly that Baela would have had to claim the dragon on the day of (or before) her own mother’s funeral. That’s too much to expect of anyone let alone a child. Aemond was 100% the d1ck in that situation.
That’s understandable but what the time and place was the wrong time. Also he basically mocked their mom post funeral and all, the girls had nothing to do with bullying Aemond, it was insensitive and cruel the words he said to the girls.
@@elizabethfigueroa6159 i mean it was probably his only chance to claim vhagar. when else could he have access to her if she lives around dragonstone
I can understand fans hating aegon but rheanyra was as bad as him if not worse but I'm 100% on aemond side he was bullied for something he can't control and while all his bullies bonded with a dragon from birth he claimed his which was a bigger achievement than anything his bullies would dream to achieve and they attacked him while they had no connection or reason to attack him and he lost his eye by luc and he wasn't even mildly punished which proved to him that his family consists of his bullies and who defend his bullies so he had every right to be angry and vengeful especially when he was right his brother should be heir so he saw everything his side (mother and GF) was doing as defending the rightful heir from his usurper sister who was awful to him and allowed her bastards to bully and injur him and her claim came from his father who was awful to him and allowed and defended his bullies so he was better smarter stronger than his bullies but he couldn't retaliate because of his father and sister protection and he was supposed to respect their wishes?? And he was never the attacker or the bully but always the victim even on his last dinner with his bullies he didn't say anything except when luc had the audacity to laugh at him to his face so a weaker bastard who bullied and nearly blinded him not only never felt sorry or apologise for what he did but continued his bullying and even after all of that he didn't mean to kill him and showed regret immediately even when vhegar acted on his own which was more than what luc ever show or even felt for all those years
First .. he was the first to pick up a rock ready to kill either of them which is why Luc pulled the knife. Second his brother is the usurper not his sister and last what do you think he intended to do chasing after Luc on 20x bigger dragon? his only regret was Vhagar did it not he himself
@@skyshatter3633 just a biased reply as he picked a rock (not a knife) and he willingly stopped and didn't injure anyone while AGAIN being bullied and ganged up on by 4 kids who had no decent reason to confront him at all so blaming a kid for trying to defend himself because he said or could have hurt them while excusing the aggressors actions as just a mistake is a weird opinion
Out of everyone I actually think Aemond would of been the best choice, based on the books he seems to be sadistic and as such a potentially terrible ruler but despite my hate for the changes the show has made they have made Aemond less like a cruel monster and more like he’s just young and wild. I think Daemon has the skills but I think he would get bored of ruling and end up like Robert Baratheon or something like that. Aegon’s obviously a bad choice. Rhaenyra doesn’t do anything except complain, have bastard children and accuse people of being traitors for speaking the truth so she’s a terrible choice, plus I think female rulers in a medieval male dominated society is just a stupid idea that’s asking for trouble to begin with. Jace and Luke aren’t worth explaining as they are bastards and shouldn’t even be in the line of succession.
To all those siding with the bastards just rewatch the scene Aemond never threw the first punch All 4 of them either hit him or tried hitting him first They even ganged up on him and he single handedly overpowered all 4 He could have used the stone twice but didn't Even after all this, they had to deceive and trick him To all the people mourning the bastards death😂😂 It was well deserved, the only issue i had was, why did they make it out as an accident in the show The strong boy had it coming
The iron trone never belonged to aemond or aegon in the first place... Rhaenyra son's could be bastards but she isnt a bastard neither is deamon, the trone was theirs and Viserys wanted Rhaenyra to be the heir. Hightower are just a hungry warmonger, Viserys never should have married Alicent but in the books she kinda seduced him...
@@robertorpg2132 well we are not talking about heirs here, are we? Did you not read what I wrote anyways it was the oath taken by people that made a few stay loyal to blacks, she was a woman and her claim was always questionable and daemon was neither named as heir nor would be the 1st choice after aegon was born As far as you using book reference is concerned, buddy I would suggest you don't do it because blacks have been whitewashed a lot to make them seem good😂😂 The norm was to have a male ruler and after this civil war and struggle for throne happened it became even stronger, and you saying alicent wasn't supposed to marry viserys 😂😂 Lol that would just end the story even before it starts 😂😂 It's stupid to even say that, I would have loved if that that part had been kept but nevermind I would choose aegon the drunk and the lovely one eyed monster all day above the whore queen, her litter of Bastards and that niece molestor Even though my comment was specifically about that scene but you still came here and blabbered, I know how this story ends and I still support greens and if you have read the books you would also know how great of a fighter ser Cristian cole is and unlike in the show he beats harwin strong and daemon convincingly 😂😂😂
I thought by tradition the throne belonged to aegon just because the king didn't want to disappoint his daughter, it is how the king got the throne because the previous king didn't have an heir and the traditions didn't allow princesses to rule@@robertorpg2132
@@robertorpg2132lmao they have as much rights even more so then the strongs as they are targareryn blood okay rhenerhya and deamon have more claim but no way can her son legitimately succeed.
I know this is an Aemond video, and he's an absolute legend, but even that short clip from the dinner scene reminded me how much I hate Emma's Rhaenyra. I half blame her acting for making me team green (most of it is Aemond, ofc). I'm sorry, but Emma has no charisma at all, and the poise and grace of a common kitchen wench. Milly's Rhaenyra was stubborn and fierce, but also feminine and quite regal. Idk what possessed them to cast Emma in that role, I'm just not feeling it at all.
Emma is much more like the Rhaenyra from the book. Older Rhaenyra comes off as less regal because the source material is HEAVILY biased towards The Greens and goes out of its way to portray her that way. The writers probably didn’t want to distance show Rhaenyra from book Rhaenyra too much. The fierce quality of Milly’s Rhaenyra is mostly if not entirely something the show added because Rhaenyra’s childhood is described for like, only a few pages IF that many and they needed a charismatic character for the first half of the season. Also Emma D’arcy uses they/them pronouns
@@nevaehaho61not true, it’s not biased towards greens, it’s just written by unreliable narrators and it’s well documented rhaenyra loses that elegance and some of her beauty in adulthood
@@CrowzEye its obvious they are biased to greens lol they went full mushroom claims on aegon, they took the whole green's scenes and even in aegon's coronation they tried to make them dirty with unnecessary girlboss rhaenys scene and guess what? we only saw sunfyre just for 3 seconds
I can't wait to see him die. He is the one, that started the war. He won't live to see the end of it. Daemon is the ONLY OG here. Aemond is simply boring & passive aggressive. I'm so excited for season 2. Vhagar will die, and so will her rider and BOY THAT EXCITES ME.
