I've been looking at them for years and always felt there was something sketchy, because no one "was willing to write a review" there were only people saying you can fix it like this.... And all of them were taping things up and replacing them with other parts from different scooters.

Exactly. Zero communication from the seller. Seems like they are only interested in the money, not the community. No parts, no support. I'm dong exactly what you are talking about, fixing my scooter with parts from another scooter. And there are used Ewheels scooters for sale all the time where I live.

The scooter is fun to ride for sure! That's not the problem. If you're scooter doesn't break it's a good scooter. It's the customer service from Ewheels that's the problem.
