EWTN's First Miracles | Inside the Friary 

Thank you for this inspiring story father John Paul. I remember Sister Angelica telling the story. Sister was a very good story teller and I loved her laughs. But most of all I loved how she gave us hope and told us to pray and trust in Jesus. She suffered a great deal with physical pain and also emotional pain being raised without a father. How difficult it must have been for her mother to have her daughter leave. But how blessed as well to have a daughter be so close to the lord that she chose God to be her one true love. I was raised Roman Catholic and we went to a church in NJ run by the Franciscans. We had many Franciscan run churches around us. In fact I thought that all the churches were run by the Franciscan Order until I grew up. I went to the Catholic School within the church and we were taught by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Newark NJ. They wore the same habit that Mother Angelica wore. In addition, my brother went into the seminary in upstate NY He was studying to be a Franciscan priest. He was in for five years but when he finished at the Noviciate he decided he couldn't continue. He became a n HS teacher. Years later he became a Deacon and wil be celebrating his 50th Anniversary this June. Having said all that I can share with you that I have been around the Catholic Faith for many years. Went to many Novenas and masses. The Sisters were very good at teaching us about the faith. After graduating 8th grade I went to an all girl Catholic HS run by the Salesian Order. Mary Help of Christian Academy. I was partial to the Franciscan Order however. Lol I shouldn't feel that way. I learned a lot about our Faith but since I started watching EWTN in 2010 I gathered more Information about my religion and was reignited in some of the prayers and hymns and the Latin Mass. Although I like the Mass in English because I can focus and follow it better understanding what is being said. I have been refreshed in my Catholic Faith and learned many inspiring things about it. EWTN also has answered a lot of questions that were confusing to me. Many wonderful and inspiring shows. Too many to name. But by Mother Angelica following her calling she gave us a wonderful means to re-educate us in our faith. For awhile I stopped going to Mass and confession. Lazy and had two small children etc. But then I wanted my children to learn about their faith and receive the Sacraments. One even got married in the Catholic church. But both left the church. One goes to a nondenominational church. A praise church. They don't believe in the Eucharist is truly the body and blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ. They think it's just a symbol. I've been praying for the Holy Spirit to enlighten them and to bring them back to our Faith. Please pray for them 🙏 I believe I adore I hope and I love Thee. I beg pardon for those who do not believe do not adore do not hope and do not love Thee Amen.

The Friers make me so so proud to be Catholic. God Has blessed all of you with a very special gift. Mother Angelica would be so proud of how her work he blossomed for her love ,Jeseus. God bwy

Thank God for Mother Angelica an all connected with Ewtn it is very important in my life. I watch it every day with the Mass and rosary and many other shows. With my church and Ewtn it keeps me so close to Jesus and Our Blessed Mother.

What a gift your network has been to me for the last 25yrs+. I first began watching you to humor my mother; after her death in 2004, you have been my anchor and my release. Seeing you everyday has truly made me feel that you are part of my family. My husband has even made sure that I could come and visit both the chapel in Irondale, AL and the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Hanceville, AL twice! And he's Lutheran. Fr. John Paul 's beautiful description of the miracle of the satellite dish and especially his powerful message from Mother Angelica to just TRUST in GOD gives me so much hope during this Covid-19, chaotic riots, political hates, stressful time of life. Thank you Fr. John Paul for your calm, informative, peace-filled message.

Her Trust in out Lord and what she was able to do, is really the First Miracle that the Lord gave us. Her Love of our Lord has inspired millions around the world. I have her life story book. She was one brave lady and her trust in God is evident in the risks she took. Technology seems to be a man's domain. When my Husband died he left a electronic business for me to continue. I was scared to death . I had to find another place for the business . I went to bed crying and just let go and let God. The 1st place I looked at was handed to me , no questions asked. Didn't even ask for a deposit . I was overwhelmed at the things that happened to help me. I thank Jesus every day. Mother Angelica is an inspiration . I hope she is smiling down on the network and saying prayers for all the Friars and employees. I know I am.

Wow.. Finally what I've read way back in 2009 in Raymond Arroyo's Book about Mother Angelica and the network of miracles is again retold! Please keep it up, I am now religious brother and I learned my first chaplet of the Divine Mercy in 1997 because of EWTN and yes, it is truly a reminder of us to really TRUST a Good who is all Love and is interested in us despite ourselves. And whenever my faith is challenged I just click my remote and find the answer in EWTN and I am convinced God himself is the Director of each shows they provide everything what yeaneing hearts needs. I had Been waiting for this Clip for ages. I did hear this story but recently I believed that I had dreamt it!! Was not sure at all. I did search it on RU-vid but couldn't find it. Was disappointed!! The present of heaven especialy the masses and the missionary sermons etc mother sngelica is truly a godsend to the world it slso helps me in my guidence in the faith i sm only an 86 yr old lady trying to figure out why god is keeping me here sfter 2 heart attack i must ssy iam inlove with ewtn etc god bless all who work for ewtn snd. Without knowing the background story, I remember telling Mother Angelica that “this place was truly a miracle.” She responded “Did you visit the Shrine in Hanceville?” This was before they even announced the shrines existence. You can feel a piece of heaven on the grounds of EWTN and the shrine. I still need to get to the shrine. Thanks! 🙏

No mention of Mr. TOM KENNEDY. He was the fellow who brought her to Chicago and got her on a local TV show. Mr. Kennedy and his wife moved to Irondale and were there from DAY ONE. Helping to get EWTN up and running. TOM was involved with the network into the 1990s. He was there when I worked at EWTN from 1996 - 1998. Tom had GREAT photos and stories about the early days of EWTN and of Mother Angelica, even before EWTN was a reality. He passed away in 2011. He was a good friend.
