Ex-2 Para SF Brig Ajoy Mukherjee: A True Hero's. Brig Ajoy Mukherjee, SM**, VSM was commissioned in Dec 1991 and joined 2 PARA (Special Forces) after qualifying the grueling selection process. The officer has held judicious mix of command, staff and instructional appointments and has extensive experience in counter Insurgency and counter terrorism operations including operations in foreign land. He has been awarded six times for Gallantry and Distinguish services including Sena Medal Bar, COAS commendation card twice and Army Commanders Commendation card twice. Born in Calcutta in 1967, the officer completed school from Fort Williams, Calcutta in 1984 and graduated from Calcutta University in Physics (Hons) in 1989. He is an avid football player having played in Calcutta Football League. He is an alumnae of DSSC 58 and Higher Air Command Course 36. The officer led Special Forces Assault Teams for over eight years in Kashmir and later commanded the elite 31 RR(Commando) in Kashmir and 350 Inf Brigade in Punjab Sect. The officer has unique experience of conducting overseas hostage rescue operation in Sierra Leone in 2000. The officer held prestigious staff appointments in elite Parachute Brigade and in Dir Gen of Mil Ops as Dir Special Operations. The officer also served as an advisor to Botswana Defence Force in Botswana, Africa and has been Senior Instructor in Defence Services Staff College, Wellington. Brig Ajoy Mukherjee, SM**, VSM superannuated from service in Jun 2023 and is presently sharing his vast experience teaching Strategy, Operations, Design Thinking and Disruptive Innovation in various premier management institutions. He is also consulting with multinational companies. He presently resides in New Delhi.
