I'm Apostolic Holiness & dress modestly, skirts & dresses to the floor, long sleeves, high neck lines, not form fitting clothing. Some new friends took my husband aside & asked if i was Amish & i actually took that as a compliment 😁
Some times I feel good when I find there are also women in west who still feel to cover their body in full.. contrary to media which always show us modernity with little cloths
Yes, I have multiple people who have asked me if I am Amish or Mennonite because I dress modestly as well. I don't mind at all, especially since our local Mennonites are so friendly.
The Amish lifestyle is so intriguing to me. I come from Los Angeles, CA and worked in PA for awhile on a Solar field and I loved how nice and respectful they all were.
This is Still The United States of America, & you're Allowed to dress in the manner You Choose, there's Nothing that says you have to conform to what Anyone Think's you should. You're an adorable young Lady 🥰🌻🦋
She’s clearly aware of this. You’re also allowed to do the same things that other people do, if you agree with those people. I think this young lady could easily choose to dress however she likes. I don’t think she’s “conforming”.
There’s a lot Amish get wrong when it comes to interpretation of the scripture. But, I definitely believe men and women should dress modestly. The opposite opens a whole can of worms. Just look at what our society worships on tv. 🤦♂️
There's a lot the Amish & Anabaptists get right in the interpretation of the verses in the bible and a lot the bible thumping Evangelical Christians get wrong in the interpretation of the Scriptures.
Tbf I think that's where it goes wrong - worshipping and shaming the other, on both ends. In Europe Czechia people dress how they want, but aren't shaming or telling people to "dress less/more" which I love.
You are perfectly welcome to dress how you like. But before you go around saying how someone "should" dress, I think you would do well to remember that how other people clothe their bodies is generally not of your concern and that "modesty" is a social concept that people made up. There are several cultures around the globe that don't find bare female breasts offensive, for instance, and some where that is actually the norm for daily dress. I for one am tired of people feeling ashamed of the human body and especially of people that want other people to feel ashamed.
Yeah girl! Dress how you feel comfortable with, everyone should have the right to choose what they wear. In my opinion, if it makes you happy, (and it’s not hateful towards anyone) then wear it!
@@miovicdina7706modern clothing, what the average person on the street would wear. The Amish call people who aren’t Amish “English”. That’s my understanding at least.
Very cute. I'm English but I'd rather be with an Amish woman. Like I wouldn't mind being Mennonite I live near many Amish in upstate New York. But many have different communities that are half and half. And I'm thinking is it possible for an Englishman who ex communicated himself from worldly desires. I love gods plan. My journey is leading me to live a more divine life.
If you set your videos to "for kids" the comments get turned off automatically, that's cool if you mean for it just wanted to let you know in case it was an accident :)
@@elisewildalaska1678 Yeah I I did the same thing with a few of my first videos haha. You're doing great I can't wait to see more of your life on the home stead!
I appreciate the modest dress and the headcovering worn by the Mennonite women. Though the headcovering is only commanded for married women while in church as the angels watch the service as 1 Corinthians 11 explains. God desires distinctions among His children. Men and women are called to present differentials. Married women are to wear something on their head and men do not at church. It reveals submission to one’s husband. Most men obey this passage and do not wear anything on their head during church. One knows this is addressing the church body as men can wear protective head attire outside the assembly. We are also taught, men are to have short hair and women long and most Christian men obey this command so there are distinctions. We sat in the same restaurant where many Mennonites were seated and all the women wore a headcovering and this is not a sin, though we only see it necessitated during the church service in the Scriptures. I did find it odd that the Mennonite men were trying on hats in the store area and one had a hat on at the meal. It makes me wonder if they truly have studied 1 Corinthians chapter 11 or they just do as they are told, following men’s laws when we are only to obey the Scriptures. We are to be Bereans making sure all that is taught in a church is found in the Bible and not laws composed by men. We are to study to show ourselves approved. Is it not odd that the women always wear the covering, when men can wear something on their heads away from a fellowship of believers. Can someone explain this to me? Jesus Christ, the thrill of hope, for a sick, hurting, and weary world-Romans 10:9-10 from the Bible: “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.”
God YHWV/Jesus has tells us women to have head covering in the ancient testatement. Are you a disciple of Jesus/Yeshua or a disciple of Paul/Saul of tarse ? She is wearing in accord with God, the heart has to be pure but our body has to be respect... God bless you
There are other things that are fun as well. Also fast fashion needs to stop existing. We really need to go back to having fewer clothes of much greater quality. There are probably better more sustainable ways to enjoy yourself if you have an interest in fashion.
You are beautiful.. From pakistan.. Well one thing I want to mention here is when a Catholic christian wears modest clothings it is said to be his choice where as if Muslim wears modest clothing( hijab, Burqa) it is portrayed as forced by the religion.. it is western media I must say..
It is quite different. It is not uncommon that they can get punished if not doing it therefore it is easier to suspect that it may be the case when someone wears clothing like that. Even if it actually is by choice. Different circumstances, different reactions.
I can see what you mean to a point and I don't knock anyone either,, everyone has their opinion but one thing I could never figure out is the fact that they all say we couldn't or wouldn't follow the man made rules when in fact everywhere you go or any place you live and I don't care if you drive a horse and buggy or if you drive a car you're still going to have to follow man made rules,,,, take some time and think about it,,, think of all the rules you have to follow when you drive a car!!
In 1 Timothy 2:9-10, Paul says, "I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God." He goes on to say in verse 11 that a woman's adornment should be "not with outward ... This is a passage from the bible about dressing modestly, but you see how it specifies women only. 🙄
@@Cozycountry1 yes, but doesn’t that chapter seem to refer specifically to worship services. It’s not a stretch to assume it applies to an extent elsewhere but it’s also not a stretch to assume it doesn’t.
The Word of God tells women to dress modestly. That can be done in many ways and God made the world full of beautiful colors, so there is no restrictions there. The most important part is that you don’t believe that your modest dress will bring you favors or displeasure with God. It is not only the man made rules of the Amish you need to turn from, but is faith in The Lord Jesus Christ and the belief that HE had paid for your sins, that He died and rose again on the third day. He is much more important than our clothing. Please put your confidence in this, not what you wear.
Don't matter called honest of there own views each person is diffrent like any other people rules had broken like the satan got thier frist amendment and 2nd they got rights to smoke Marijuana blah on them witch hunters and physics , I'm a pagan don't like satan we have believes also with the temple we say respected like angels and respected like God's and goddess. Strong words from the scrolls is almost like a Bible.
Women always rebel and try and muddle an d hybridize everything. Which, if you want to rebel, fine. But to disrespect the way of living, such that you would be a chameleon is pure filth. The Bible says respect the law of the labd as well as the law of christ. If you are leaving this disciplined way of life, don't play games. Leave it altogether.
