Yeah it adds this amazing aesthetic It probably represents how they are so different from each other and the different animation is for us to visualize that “they live in different dimensions”. Brilliant That or the animation team was smoking something
I saw a 5 star review on this show and the person literally said “this would be a great college level project”. Even the people defending this show can’t help but roast it!
@@oOZellzimaOo 4/10? your teacher sure generous... considering the budget, sponsor, and time i will give it 1/10 to create such abomination... especially after seeing the manga art style...
Supposedly Dragonball's author didn't want the last thing of Dragonball to be the trash Hollywood movie so he came back to working on the franchise. I wonder what ex:arm author will do?
I know like did they see berserk 2016 and think "you know I really enjoyed how it threw away miuras art" and decided that's what anime needs, less art, more crap cg.
When they show actual illustrations by the manga artist in between commercial breaks or during the ending theme, it’s especially sad to see the wasted potential
Makes me remember the inconsistent character design for Gonzo's Hellsing adaptation. The only good thing that came from that disaster was the soundtrack.
@@demangjandemangjan3065 Its an Original the way Netflix has Originals: it just means they were the first to broadcast it/it wasnt an import/they part funded production. Yeah it can throw you since "Anime Original" has a different meaning (not based on a manga/VN/LN)
Ex Arm is the action comedy we have all been waiting for! It truly is the anime of the year. AOT, Re Zero, Mushoku Tensei, JJK, Horimiya should have released later because everyone knows it is Ex Arm’s time to shine!
Crunchyroll only co-funded EX-ARM with 8 other companies so that they would get distribution rights in the west. Why they chose to throw money at this I have no idea but it isn't their fault it turned out this way.
@@jamesalexander5559 not Crunchyroll fault? then ho? The manga is well drawn with cool fights and sexy characters. and yet the anime somehow manage to look more stil frame than the manga pages. This is a tragedy, something clearly has gone wrong somewhere
Did the count, either there's a lot of trolls out there (possible) or just a lot of 1/10 people, but yeah, troll work is def at play, and now the meme "EX-Arm: The "Best" Anime Ever Made" Is gonna future make the rating weird XD
that's actually a good thing they have fight choreographers, but they didn't know how to translate those fights by professional choreographers into anime because of the teams'/director's lack of experience in animation, thus, making the fight more awkward and ineffective. edit: i misinterpreted your comment, so i modified it a bit
The action director is a stuntman who worked with the director before, who has no experience in anime before while the storyboarding was handled by what's basically a tech support company.
It's sad that greed at the executive level will tarnish manga's, animation studio's and stunt team's names. Stunt team and the animation studio were actually professionals but the animation studio is used to making video game environment art. They worked on Sekiro.
@@art_by_doof nothing, its just they didn't really do any of them well, tower of god was good, nothing great, god of high school was just terrible, and noblesse was boring af
And remember! Other than montys fight choreography, nearly every bit of RWBY season ones animation everyone agrees hasn't aged well, because they had the budget of a ham sandwich and like 5 people making it. And it still looks better than ex arm!
@@giloguy101 I miss Monty, what a fucking god that man was. But yeah, Monty actually knew what he was doing, compared to whatever the fuck the director of ex-arm was doing. He even wasted his professional fight choreographer.
Yeah, the thing is that RWBY Volume 1 has the charm of it being from 2012 and being made by a small team that cared and shit. You can tell that people put their hearts and souls into it and loved it, but with Ex-Arm everything I've seen just looks so dead and lazy, it's clear that nobody cared about it at all. Like, RWBY Volume 1 started one of my favorite shows of all time, it is still loved by many because it's kinda a time capsule and is rarely unintentionally funny even to this day, but this shit... this is gonna start nothing but jokes about how shit it and Crunchyroll are.
@@MaxEllSibSwe it gets worse when you learn that if what i've read is true, the adaption of Ex-arm is so bad it actually caused the manga to be canned thats bad on a whole new level
Joey talking about the main character being 3d and their brother in 2d reminds me of that one Gorillaz music video where Noodle was in 3d and 2D was in well uh, 2D.
"It sounds like a high school band that listened to too much Green Day" Hey, as a band geek, I take offense to that. I'll happily take an HS band that listened to too much Green Day over Ex-Arms any day xD
If they wanted Ex-Arm to be in 3D, the should’ve given to studios like Studio Orange or Polygon Pictures that have experience with 3D CGI Animation and knows how to use it well. The people who worked in this, had no experience with 3D at all.
To everyone wondering why Ex-Arm is the way it is, Canipa did a fantastic video documenting the production of the anime: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Haa0J8oEyWA.html TLDW: Not only are the main staff inexperienced in making anime, they have zero knowledge about animation in general.
Ex-Arm is a visual masterpiece with it's unique animation style that tells a story far beyond from what it is merely shown. It encapsulates actions that truly feel real by the choice of not using any music during it's action scenes because the author wants to show us the reality and intensity that plays out in those scenes. It is a true masterpiece with many philosophical meanings behind it's story and animation that not even Aristotle would be able to truly put his thoughts into words.
1:45 i know that you were about to say helter skelter joey...you're the most cultured individual i have seen so far, and i couldn't be more proud to be a fan of you
And you know what's sad? That the art in the cover looked amazing and the manga is not bad at all. This thing could have been a decent watch this season if only a decent company would have picked it up.
BRO YES THAT'S WHAT IVE BEEN SAYING. I checked it out of curiosity because of all the mess of the anime. And I swear to god its legitimately good. And it pains me because when I tell people that the manga is legitimately good are like "uhu yeah sure" and its so sad because when I mention ex-arm they wont think of the great character designs, fenomenal art work, and great creativity with tecknology. And instead they think about that fucking mess of animation.
And on top of that they not only cuted content with the brother's girlfriend, but also straight censored! (Now to be fair, that level of tits was pretty much guaranteed of being cencored, but still!)
