I hate to use an animal for example but I feel like it’s the perfect scenario. Most dogs I’ve came across that will eat really fast and are food aggressive, usually had some kind of issue earlier in their life where they weren’t allowed to get food or get enough of it. It seems like their response of eating fast and biting at others if they come close to their food because is they’re fearful that if they don’t get that meal in, they’ll never get another one. It happens in nature with almost all animals. I think that humans are like this in a way. That person in prison who goes around bullying the weak will do so mostly because they’re scared that if they don’t, they could be perceived as weak and have the same thing done to them. A rich person can only spend so much in a lifetime. The real motivation is if you’re not gaining it, then you could lose it all. And if you see someone else getting more, it might scare you into believing they will come get yours eventually. Sometimes these fears are irrational and sometimes not. Some people don’t even know the fears that drive them. It’s there though. I think at the end of the day, the way we live our lives is based mostly on fear. The only difference between us and our counterparts in the wild, is that we can resolve our fears.
