Yeh one thing i really hate about american reality tv is this kind of manipulation to create drama. If they’re adults i think it’s arguably fine, but if they’re doing this to children i think it’s too much.

as a blk dancer she should be happy to have nia because most of us aren't wearing our hair to match our white friends just because our dance teacher complains, too much up keep and it doesn't last unless you have a relaxer or something.

Tbh I don’t blame her, she clearly loves the girls but what 14 year old wants to dance with 8-10 year olds. I’d also be over it if I was literally in high school dancing with elementary school kids, not only that but also if I wasn’t valued, pushed, or rewarded for anything no wonder why she didn’t like it. Also the fact Abby had them there from the second they get out of school (3-4pm) and keeping them until 11pm at night & on top of it competing every weekend so she had no time to be a teen a do teenage things.

​@NalyssaBalqis it's called Back to the Barre with Christi and Kelly. They get into all of the behind scenes shit of EVERY episode, they're working their way through and began at season 1. It's a good af listen if you're a mega fan of the show, or just interested in the weird world of reality tv.

@@NalyssaBalqis Amy already answered perfectly, but I’ll add that I’ve really enjoyed it, more than some of my favourite rewatch pods because they’re so *them* lol, like their personalities translate so well to podcasting just like they did to reality tv. They’re super honest about themselves and the situations and bts, and have a good sense of humour while also being serious about certain things, and their pacing is really good they go beat by beat through the episodes but they don’t drag… sorry I’m giving like a full review now lmao, but if it’s not clear I listen to many rewatch podcasts and theirs doesn’t fall into so many of the annoying pitfalls there can be. It’s just really well balanced as a podcast and really entertaining, and the tea gives so much perspective to just see the bigger picture for when I rewatch the show now! Highly recommend if you’re even remotely a fan of dance moms and podcasts, I’m not even a diehard fan but it’s really fun to accompany a rewatch with the podcast.

Yea it could be that or she’s js sensitive she is the youngest of 3 sisters and spoiled so it could be both 😭

I think it’s also important to remember that Kendall was only 8 yrs old in season 2. This environment can definitely be overwhelming for such a young child.

It also may explain the “my stomach hurts”. It could’ve been the physical symptoms of anxiety. I see it a lot with the kids I work with.

As much as I laugh at her being the one to always cry, I would be the *EXACT* same way lol. I probably would’ve been worse in that environment.

i believe she herself has stated she has panic induced anxiety. hearing a little girl say "my stomach hurts" when she's obviously extremely anxious is so heartbreaking for me because i get crippling stomach aches from my anxiety.

Yeah I think the question is in the episode Kelly asks for the month back and Brad was saying that previously she said she paid the year upfront meaning she would need the year credited not the month.

The interesting thing is that Abby kept telling Kelly especially that she never paid her or was always late. By this point production was paying for the girls studio and competition fees costumes etc. The parents weren’t paying for them at all.

That was one of the reasons she signed on to the show, she was bankrupt and needed the money.

Their hair is literally always messy and falling out and Abby never gives a single sh*t, that was most likely the producers making drama and trying to make Abby seem racist, or maybe she just is, I don't know.

Yea I really never saw kendall as a brat. Tbf i only watched the first four ish seasons, but till that point she didn’t seem to have any behavioural issues to me. I coach kids gymnastics/tumbling so believe me I’ve met some kids that are so much worse than sweet lil kendall.

You this show is giving me cheerleading flashbacks, especially during competitions. And there was a whole scandal cuz the Varsity coach would have us girls go to competitions, but put us in another category that was completely empty except for us. So they made us have our parents spend a munch of money on makeup and hair and uniforms/costumes, shoes, etc. just for them to get participation trophies. And get the favorites to do solos with choreographers and compete. And it wasn’t like they took the whole squad, there were auditions, and major cuts. I was surprised I got on the team because of my height. Every other girl was like 5’2 to 5’4 and you have a 5’7 14 year old in the fucking back hella standing out 😂

I don't want a giant box taking op space for the 7 days a year it's hot. Plus it's so wasteful in terms of energy. And even when I lived in Spain I was fine without it. It's such a weird type of cold that gives me head colds. It's totally fine other cultures are used to it and have it and like it but most mild climates don't need it when you grew up without it.
