Steve Day, former head of Canada's special forces unit JTF2 critiques the security response to the Oct. 22 shooting on Parliament Hill. He says they did well - but there are gaps.
Military personal often refer to soldiers as "actors" in the theatre of war, so when the ex commander is assessing the footage he is most likely viewing police and security personal as actors. It's old military speech.
I was there recently when the prime minister was there and the security measures seemed much much higher. Not sure if anything has changed but on the day I was there this would have stopped way before he got inside
We need more SOF on the hill. it will get worst, the more we ignore. We have some of the best SOF in the world. I'm proudly canadian , and i live in Australia. Ive seen what happens here, and sadly the same here. I proudly wear my leaf
The Canadian parliament, the most important building in Canada, was barely protected before the attack, and afterwords they got like ten new cops. Really says how safe Canada is.
I'm very confident that the Canadian government strictly prohibits you, if you are a JTF-2 operator, to tell anyone about your past. Its all EXTREMELY confidential and sensitive. You could, assuming, just say Canadian Armed Forces, Special Forces instead since there are other Canadian special operations units like CSOR, SOAS, and MTOG.
@@keithjellis2038 It's not. It represents different "players", "individuals", etc., in an area of operation. It has nothing to do with special operation forces.
Former head, difference in roles, his includes public, admin, political, etc. In his earlier experiences I'm sure he did more ninja-killing-tangos-without-being-detected stuff.
He made it there because unlike America, we aren't used to shooters attacking others, probably because unlike America, we are a civilized nation that doesn't have to worry about this usually
There were 6 units staged in the SW corner and zero at the SE Bollards.??? None of them advanced towards the rifle shots or towards that corner which would take only 10 seconds by vehicle?.. This was a staged theatrical exercise and the really good news is that no one really died!
