Held in the summer forests north of the Arctic Circle, Ex Northern Forest was a joint exercise between UK, Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian, Estonian, Latvian and US troops. It tested interoperability and tactics for the various forces, whilst also providing a completely different training environment from that of Salisbury Plain back in the UK.
Never has our relationship with our NATO allies been more important, and this was an excellent exercise to build and improve our relationships across the militaries of NATO nations.
