@@lyndamccallum1535 advice on weight loss is to STOP DIETING! It won’t work! Low to no carb and working out unless you have an underlying condition. Carbs turn into fat/ fuel for your body so instead of burning off stored fat out bodies will burn off the carbs. Remove the carbs and then you’ll be burning off stored fat. It’s just sad that she had to turn to food as a coping mechanism and not her mother because all she did was treat her differently feed her differently so I guess it was she rebelled against what her mother was doing and saying. This is the very first time I have 💯 understood how someone got addicted to food. It makes perfect sense to me that if someone had a parent that got so crazy over a child eating that way that they would end up turning to food. When I was a child I would wet the bed and even though the doctor told my mom numerous times I could not help it I still was called lazy, a pig, etc. by my step father and my mom would just scream at me about washing my sheets. I mean did they truly believe a child would just wet themselves because they didn’t want to get up to pee? Even when I did it at a friends house did they think a child would do that? The friends mother was so amazing to me. I keep crying and saying I was sorry. She picked me up wiped my tears and kissed me on the cheek and just keep soothing me telling me it was not my fault and it was okay that sometimes kids have accidents and that she use to when she was little. I remember being stunned that someone else had been through the same thing. When my parents lit into me about how I could do that at someone’s home it didn’t sting quite as bad because I knew I was not the only one and this amazing woman had not been a bad kid either!

I think this woman has learned how to gain empathy. Very few of us come out of childhood unscathed, more like, bruised, busted up and lost. My comment is about not continuing the fragilising by validating how difficult her time has been, it keeps her stuck, be understanding and ask what she's going to do. She does know.

This is very sad to watch. I hope this lady can get the help that she deserves ❤ I also had a difficult relationship with my mother that impacted my eating throughout my life. When I was a child she did not put me on diets; it was the polar opposite. My mother only gave me very fattening food. I was fed huge amounts of sugary foods (even sugar sandwiches) and mashed potatoes and gravy. I was very overweight by the age of 6 and by the time I was15, I was wearing size 22 clothes. She kept stuffing me with food as a child and then criticized my appearance and size. The bullying at school was terrible and I turned to comfort foods. My aunt said my mother - who was model beautiful - didn't want competition from a daughter (I was not a planned pregnancy). That was many years ago. I have had a lifetime struggle with very disordered eating.

I had a similar relationship with my Mom and food and I was biological and she had no reason to have fears about my weight. But she watched my food like a hawk and it still had the opposite effect. I wish she could feel more normalized. I always felt too like my Mom had wanted a pretty mini me and instead she got a chubby monster. I wonder how much of that is just common mother daughter weirdness. Maybe she didn’t really think that badly of me. Maybe I did better than she thought and she didn’t need to control me so much. I eventually lost weight by throwing rules away. There are no rules. All food is allowed. I’ve worked to use other coping strategies and heal my relationship with food instead. I eat everything. I just eat more healthy foods than not which evolved slowly and naturally over time as I stopped putting so much pressure on myself and worked on feeling physically good and disconnecting food from emotional coping. There’s very little good help out there for the emotional issues at the root of this stuff. Yes, eating fewer calories is technically the solution. But if that’s all someone needed to know people wouldn’t have weight problems. Inner work is so much more tricky. And without it no weight loss will ever stay. God bless her.

Why are you defending child abuse? Because that 's what it is. Putting a 4 year old on diet pills is as bad as feeding them junk constantly. Verbally abusing a child for being overweight is abusive. Children don't control what food they can have or the habits they are taught.
