Those dark spots, it's a function called "fog of war." It prevents you to see anyone and anything thag happens in the dark spots unless there is a guard patrol or camera's in that area.

Breakfast at 7am? Lol I would have loved that but...I always ate breakfast at 430 - 530 depending on the place. Lights out at 1030pm in my personal experience. Good video!!

9:15 - that's my prison! I did have a bigger visitation room where the parole and mailroom now is, but contraband - especially after what you said about suitcasing - was out of control. Now that little visitation area is for minimum security only. I had more gun towers, but they weren't necessary - escapes and fights just weren't happening. The three helipads is because it's the only way to empty that workshop in time. I know the workshop being close to the road is a security issue, but that's why there's a security office and armory right across the road. The road itself is prison property; it's not a thoroughfare. I'm glad you like it, Larry! Helping my inmates to make good choices.

With my prisons, I tend to build a reception connected to a 4-way connection room to where going up is the staff hallway with offices, security and stuff like that, to the left would be the main prison area, then going down would visitation rooms such as the mailroom, visitation center and I tend to build basically a phone room.

Larry talking about prison architect?! best combo ever haha wish I knew about this before I would have sent him my epic prison. I had no idea that he played this! so awesome. damn this was 3 years ago how have I not seen this? really bummed I missed it because I figured out in my opinion the best layout for a prison in this game. I always put the cafeteria in the middle and then section it off into the different levels of security and then you can have lunch times all at once and keep the prisoners separated and also the fact its in the middle really makes the flow much better as far as time goes. everyone gets to eat and its been the most efficient way I've found to build in this game

Hi Larry, i'm Daniel :D, Thanks so much for the review, I didn't expect the design to get on the show so this is awesome :D.....The only reason i had such a low population and capacity was due to multiple gangs deciding to riot one after the other when their leaders got locked up.....took me 200 days to fix everything haha! anyway, loving the content and other prisons that made it on here too, looking forward to future content as always! keep well, keep safe. p.s Fog of war ;) makes things harder

6:40 The maker of this prison probably has 'fog of war' set to true which makes it to where in order to see anything in a room there must be security watching it, it can be achieved by guard patrols and cameras

Just to clear up for the people that don’t play this game. The “dark spots” or places without power actually have power it’s just a game mechanic called fog of war that keeps you from being able to see anywhere in the prison that there aren’t guards or cameras.

There is a game mechanic called "Fog of War" (FOW), this basically means that you cannot see the dark spot unless you scrolled there and gone closer, also you could have checked utilities tab to see the power lines over there

Here in Walker County a few inmates escape from the jail with peanut butter. Yes peanut butter. The jail is pretty tight security to. You can try to look it up if you want. Jasper,Alabama is the place.

The reason you can't see anything in some prisons is because that's the fog of war. If there's no guard or camera watching, you won't be able to see what's going on in said room. It's for an extra challange

Second prison was not dark spots it’s the gsmes thing where you don’t have the vision in that area and rooms, it’s not the lights out it’s just called “fog war” where u can’t see what’s going on in that room unless there’s cameras or a Gaurd I’d inside

Larry Lawton for the second prison it looks like the dark spots are the blind spots where guards don't know what is going on, not power outages. I don't see the power bolts over the lights that alert the player that the lights are receiving power.

Darkness in places that do have lights means that your staff dont know what going on. "Fog of war". That means they need either security cameras or guard patrols set up.
