I don't go to the movies much anymore I only see maybe two to three movies a year and no I did not see any of his movies in the movies I do have one of his recent movies recently on DVD but I haven't watched it yet so not sure when I will
I cannot feel sympathy for someone that signed a billion year contract and therefore has to call Tom Cruise “Sir” and do what he says. 😅 I’d still watch his movies if I liked them.
As a dad to a daughter myself, once I heard Cruise ditched his kid for his cult I'd heard all I need to. I will never understand how a dad could turn his back on his little girl.
RU serious ? Any kid in Europe since the early 80s has been warned away from this cult, that's been condemned over and over. Americans can't give a shit. They cared more about nutjobs than minorities.. appeal in european court way later. Check their record. For real. Or brag about how your ways are the only laws that count. deal with the consequences. Those lovely people sit on 3.5 Billions and for sure intend to good. Obviously. tom cruise will open the pacific sea or something if needed..Or not.
@@bridobrien7483 They make her life a nightmare. Anyone around her is a target. She doesn't want that, even if some want to help and are ready for hell on wheels..They need to stay strong on the outside of that big fart problem.
Yeah Leah is okay for getting out and her concern for David Miscarriage's absent wife imo was genuine HOWEVER she's still actually a scientologist... She said it's taught her a lot of good life lessons and I can understand that HOWEVER,, the whole thing was invented by a lunatic who wrote bad science fiction stories and never had an honest job in his life and focused his whole being on scamming people... I also believe that in a way psychiatry as a profession is more about making money and expanding their business by basically making stuff up,, social anxiety disorder? I would call it just another dimension of uncomfortable normalcy,, but these people want to fill people with drugs for all kinds of things that ordinarily would be treated with counseling .. The sort of a thing is kind of like the prison industrial complex, trying different ways of making more money on a sector of society that one generally does not want to see growing.... A lobbying group named ALEC,, American legal exchange council,, for instance, lobby lawmakers for stiff sentences for drugs and just about everything else, "necessitating" long prison terms in for-profit prisons that is of course all paid for by the taxpayer while still sleazing profit off of commercial enterprises that operate inside the prison itself,, usually some sort of small industry or even customer service for online and telephone...
Leah did a fantastic job, but I knew they used brain washing techniques. They tried to brainwash my 14 year old daughter who was taken to an orientation by a friend. Being of average intelligence, when my daughter told me they wouldn't let her go to the bathroom, eat or even drink water for four hours of orientation, I forbid her to return. I explained they were using brainwashing techniques. and she understood, so that was that. Easy peasy. Then I did research L. Ron Hubbard, and it was an eye opener. Tom Cruz is an absolute idiot!!!
I watched Leah Remini’s shows on TV with her guests-all those stories of people who have left and how they were treated-unbelievable. She did a great job.
But she didn't prove anything. She just talks about other people's business. No proof. You were in this too.what did they hide for you. And your money helped them to be able to do what they did.
@@carbine090909 …..ahem …… umm , are you aware of Nichole’s background? Who her father was? The rumors surrounding her father? You’ll see there is some very “gray” area in there …….
I can't help myself but to have a little belly laugh when Nicole Kidman was asked ''so what's life like after Tom Cruise?' She replied ''well I can wear my high heels again now''
I had a cousin that lived in the center in Los Angeles, she was sent to Toms home to refinish some type of woodwork. She refused to go back after the 2nd day, Tom had her sent to the Reformation center in Florida. She was there for 13 days and was forced to do labor with only 1 meal per day and was not allowed to speak to anyone, not allowed to bathe and had to sleep on a concrete floor with no pillow or blanket. She told me this info when I pick her up for her fathers funeral. I was followed to my home and for the 3 days she stayed at my home there was a car parked down the road. The car went away after I returned her to LA. She apparently married a guy that was security in the center. They apparently fled to the East Coast and are still living under different identities to this day. That cult is scary.
I always wondered who are his fans? I don’t know anyone who likes him! Women don’t like him. Men don’t idolize him. Why does he get the big roles? I found out it’s the Chinese! They think he’s the bomb.
Hello from the South of France, At the beginning of the 90s, while I was working in Paris (I was born there), the "Scientologists" tried to establish themselves in France. Their method of recruiting was quite vicious since they distributed flyers at the exit of the subway entrances in the form of an IQ test where it was mentioned nowhere that it was Scientology. Once it was completed, it was enough to contact a telephone number to obtain the test results. I remember at the time I called that number for the results. I was then given an appointment the same evening at an address in Batignolles (in the 9ᵉ arrondissement of Paris). I had gone there without suspecting more than that because I had been confirmed by telephone that everything was free. When I arrived at the address, I realized there was a problem. The building where I had an appointment seemed to be an old restored church, and more importantly, was inscribed in full, "Church of Scientology." I immediately understood that there was a problem. However, I went to the appointment anyway because I was curious and amused to see how they would try to sell me sales pitches. I did not wait once I entered the premises. A person immediately brought me to an office where a man took care of me. He told me that my tests were excellent but wanted me to pass others. Before that, he offered to watch a movie and took me to a room specially equipped for this purpose. A large screen and row of seats were identical to those in a movie theater. The film told the life of the aviator Ron Hubbard who later became a science fiction author and developed a revolutionary method to surpass himself humanly. After the film, I returned to my interlocutor, accompanied by a young woman who had looked after me before and after the screening. Everything seemed to be settled like clockwork. There, I was made to retake tests which, after analysis, showed my strengths and weaknesses. I listened to all this with great amusement. Until someone offered to sell me Ron Hubbard's book. I declined the offer despite the insistence of my interlocutor, who wanted to be persuasive. From there, the phone calls multiplied. They kept calling to invite me to come back and buy the book. I got angry and threatened to file a harassment complaint if they kept calling me. So, they finally gave up. A few years later, the Church of Scientology found itself in court (1995), was condemned for fraud in an organized gang, and declared an undesirable sect with a ban on practicing on the territory by the French authorities. Peace, folks. ☮😉
Very similar in Australia. I was very young then. And I was super busy looking for work, and therefore I did not have time to follow up. I guess I was lucky.
hahahahaha I had forgotten about that part, YES you are ASSIGNED someone to follow you and be with you at all times. my brother was a contractor and he said even to do his work on site, they "ASSIGNED YOU SOMEONE" TO BE WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES. probably because they fear investigations and anyone talking inside the cult to you or any outsider. I swear this is true.
I went to the Scientology headquarters in Philly twice looking for a solution to an abusive marriage. It didn’t take long to realize this was no solution.
When I heard all the crap spewed from Cruise mouth about Brooke Shields and her postpartum symptoms aren’t a real thing, angered me deeply! That says all I needed to know about his character!
After Tom attempted to smear Brooke Shields, she was preforming in a play. She invited tom publicly to come and see the show, and to bring a date. She said, "just ask for two tickets at the door, for one adult and one child. I loved it. She is so much more intelligent then tom with his crazy ramblings.
He didn't say she wasn't depressed, he said we are overmedicated and that the meds do not work. It has now been proven those meds do not work for depression.
Pray? If you mean just hope then fine but if you're saying pray to the god of one of the abrahamic cults then you need to consider deconversion therapy.
I haven’t watched a Tom Cruise movie since Lawrence Wright’s book Going Clear was published. Before the documentary, before Leah and her shows. The book detailed how Scientology traffics humans and many work on TC properties or vehicles. He participated in the abuse as Leah detailed what she saw first hand at his home. Also in Leah’s fantastic book, when she found Suri who was an infant crying on the bathroom floor at Tom and Katie’s wedding reception and Tom’s sister and other Scientologists were standing around doing nothing. Leah stormed into the kitchen and got her a bottle and demanded that they feed her. They treat babies as adults in babies’ bodies, their thetan isn’t a baby. It’s child abuse! I was so happy when Katie got away. She saw what happened to Nicole and her kids and luckily has a father who is a family law attorney. I was ecstatic when they blindsided TC and Scientology!
I remember back in the 80's when that movie of his can't remember the name, he was a fighter pilot. I started to watch it never saw any movie of his before, but when I started watching I had to stop, he gave me the creeps. There was something bad that I saw in him znd could not stand him now I can't even look at a picture of him, he is Satanic.
@@aliiljah8224 My Dad was a pilot, I love flying so I went to see it. I didn't like Cruise at all, just something that put me off. I liked Val Kilmer way better in that movie. Never paid a penny for or watched anything he was in since. I've misjudged people in my life, but I was right that time.
To be honest I used to like Tom cruise and understood sometimes how they acted due to always being under the line light although that’s the spot they put themself in. I loved movies and actors for their talent but as I can honestly say I was blinded all these years as many were/are not knowing that it’s not the spotlight but the evil and he desire of fame that is within them and that stems from them giving it all for satan and not their own merit! Love it while you have it Tom Cruise cause God is coming to judge and put you all in their rightful place!! Praise God🙏🏽😂
I was really liking the health guru Dr Berg until I caught a random video of his grown son who talked about his escape from scientology and said that his father was a scientologist. His sons name is Ethan or something, very humble and authentic. Their voices sound the same. You never know which youtubers are funding their church cults 😐
Same-same….love Dr Berg’s son, Ian Rafalko. ❤️❤️ He seems so sincere. Apparently Dr Berg, behind the scenes, makes fun of people who buy his products because he knows they don’t work. According to Ian, his dad thinks people are gullible and he is happy to make money off their stupidity and would often brag about it.😡😡 Dr Berg is nothing but a grifter.
Oh my, that’s a real eye opener to me. I think Dr Berg is clever. but some times over the top. And he’s certainly a sales man. I’ve never bought his product. I’ll now think twice about watching him. One never knows 🤷♀️ I will watch what he’s son has to say.
I’m shocked. I watch Dr Berg sometimes. I always thought there was something a bit off with him and could never fully decide if he was a bit of a fraud. This explains a lot knowing he is a Scientologist.
My sister listened in to a phone call Tom made to paramount publicity dept. Rudest man, disrespectful too. Ungrateful, conceted, delusional abandoned his own daughter for a cult.
I worked in Paramount’s Motion Picture Distribution 1986 to 1997. I was ordered to report to the commissary to be part of a pandering studio clack as (midget - no more than 5’5” in heels) Cruise was given a $300,000 Mercedes by Sherry Lansing, then head of production. Quite a bizarre photo op fiasco. Production couldn’t find anyone who cared about him. We had nothing to do with the guy but we had to pretend we deified him. I did have to cope with his sister, tho. The entitlement was appalling. I had to blind call some tiny theater in the Midwest to have six seats for the premiere of Mission Impossible roped off for her. Imagine me calling some poor ticket taker and convincing them I was calling from Paramount in Hollywood to demand that they lose the profit of those seats on opening night for the benefit of egotists - who never even showed up. I did it but I lost all respect for Hollywood by working in it for 30 years. God bless Far West TX! 🤣
@@amybarlow3045 Seriously. All these people saying he abandoned his daughter should stop and think how people raised by narcissistic, sociopathic, abusive parents turn out. The girl has a chance to be a decent human being and not a zombie.
My best friend’s parents were both in Scientology from before I was 10 (about 1968). The parents would often go do their auditing in their bedroom behind closed doors. I never knew what that was about until later. Their daughter, my best friend from 4th grade, and I were Christians, often attending church together in high school. She never did anything with Scientology until years later after high school graduation and her first marriage ended in divorce within the first couple years-her parents grabbed hold of her and got her into the Seaorg in LA when she was about 21. She couldn’t leave. She couldn’t see or talk to me or any of her other friends. We never heard from her again. Our close lifelong friendship abruptly and completely ended. A full blown cult brainwashing occurred from which she never escaped. Sad and infuriating.
My late brother to whom I was so close growing up, became a confirmed Scientologist and he became an AUDITOR for this cult. My brothet literally became weird and truly "out of his tree". He used so many "key words" to entice membership in the cult. My family life became destroyed through this cult invading our normal family life and also it was difficult having a normal family relationship with a once normal and fun-filled brother. His personality changed in a spooky way and he became very aggressive and distant from me. After a few years (4) Of him being an auditor in this cult and he became a CLEAR we became arch enemies, he tirned against me and suggested that I attend a Funny farm. He tried to convince me I was a nut case! Disagreeing with him was taboo. So, fast forward, for about 40 years my once marvellous brother and I became enemies - truly by disagreeing with him.
I literally have a feeling of loathing when I see a picture of him. I am sure he is a true narcissist. Not a big surprise how powerful he is in Scientology.
even tarot readers and star sign analysts agree he is pure evil and born with all the luck of a devil. bet he can play a fiddle till it catches fire too. when i squint my eyes and look at his image i swear i can see some horns and a trident in the back. never watched any of his movies, just the first time he appeared in his first blockbuster I disliked that face so much that I turned it off. the unicorn was more convincing to be real than that slob actor with his carpet face and evil eyes.
My mom thinks I'm crazy for boycotting the Newest Mission Impossible. I told her I'll never watch another Tom Cruise movie in my life. Not until Scientology is no longer a thing.
I stopped watching anything he was involved in after learning about his affiliation with Scientology. I've done the same with Juliette Lewis after watching her use "the tone" on a reporter - she is batshyt.
I understand this is about Tom as a powerful celebrity, however I'm disgusted that more hasn't been done to this organization by authorities. Glad his daughter is away from the cult.
MysticStealth • I think Katy Holmes, his ex, his daughter's mother, left Scientology right after their divorce? So I don't think her daughter is in it. Nicole Kidman comes from a family of very powerful witches and warlocks. Well known for their occult practices. She also joined Scientology. I don't know if she still practices it or not. But clearly CULT was in her genes.
This cult use to pay taxes. They harrassed and threatened the government to a point that they were cosidered a church and have paid no taxes since. They threaten monetary and physical damage to get their way!
seems they were called in to investigate the "leaders" missing wife and left after a few hours, closing the investigation......uh, can you say, "pay off"?
the cult is KNOWN for having authorities (lapd), politicians (to many to list) in their pocket... paid off and/or blackmailed (like the irs for example)...

Turns out this has been years now and Remini never did get any information/paperwork on the case, she was only told they met Shelley, the wife, and she's fine. She has not been seen in public for over 16 years and counting! They separate us, took me in to a space on the ground floor. After an hour or so, discussing me and the "test",- I exploded in anger. This didn't make any sense to me at all. I stood up, found the door LOCKED, unlocked it and started shouting for my friend. I ran around and up to the second floor where I did find her in another Locked office space. She was heartbroken in TEARS!!! I grabbed her and dragged her out of there. Shouted back to them: " Leave us alone you guys are insane. They tried halfheartedly to stop me, but my mind was made up. Isn't it possible David Miscavige and Tom Cruise are lovers and just blatant charlatans and the reason Shelley Miscavage is missing is because she found out? That's the vibe I always get from the two of them.
@@Peekaboo-KittyI think she must be thinking "Derpfake" is Tom Cruise when it's an impersonator who does all these crazy stunts. He's actually hilarious to me!
I have to agree, I liked the movie, The Firm in lots of ways due to many of the other actors in it but TC had some scenes and he is so fake with being a loving person in scenes with his movie wife. fake emotions. other than TC, I liked the movie a lot!
I’m the same age as tom and I remember back in 1983 when he was first breaking into Hollywood. He’s not the same today. He’s definitely been changed by Scientology.
Is Shelley Miscavige ( David’s wife) still missing? Her Wikipedia page has her as missing for 16 years and 18 days! She hasn’t been seen in public since 2007! Some claim she is being held against her will. The police need to insist on having eyes on her just to confirmed she’s still alive.

Clearly, the couple is living separately.
I read recently that Cruise refuses any scenes requiring him to be abusive to women. I found that interesting considering he seems to turn a blind eye to all abuses against women in Scientology. Excellent interview. Claire is always fantastic and willing to share her knowledge with us. And Andrew, you asked great questions.
A few years ago I read an interview with someone who’s known Cruise since the early years, but has grown distant over the past couple of decades. He was asked which of Cruise’s movie roles most accurately reflects the real Cruise, and he said Frank TJ Mackey, from the movie Magnolia. That alone is pretty damning.
This is the first time I hear the details of rumours surrounding him and I am not surprised. There is something about him that says control freak, keeping lots of secrets, manipulative, obsessive authoritarian and only shows one side of him how professional he is and kind to people when the reality is much darker. He is so well guarded that I don't think we will ever know the true extent of it
I’ve never really cared for Tom Cruise and we’re the same age, there are so many more interesting leading men in celebrity world that far surpasses Toms acting ability as well as his so called good looks. So, so, thankful that Nicole and Katy got away from this toxic manipulative man.
I am the same age as him as well and never liked him. He is like a brainwashed robot. Give me Matthew McConaughey any day. Now that's a handsome, charming, sexy, real man.
He is the least interesting, for want of a better word, man, that I have ever had the unfortunate task of hunting frenziedly for my remote control to get rid of him. I would not want my pleasant little cottage contaminated by him.
When I saw him in Interview With A Vampire, especially the fake piano-playing scene, I realized he had no talent whatsoever; and SO full of himself. Nauseating.
I so totally agree. It is the same with Travolta. He is a scumbag and his looks distract from his evil self centered personality...there are and were more talented down to earth actors from that period...like the dude from the die hard movies...
Anti-choice TYRANT! But then that's the kind of shtt Andrew Gold fosters over here with this subject, repeatedly, exposing the hypocrisy in himself and much of his audience.
Andrew and Claire I appreciate hearing your thoughts band perspective regarding Scientology. I do not watch any Tom Cruise movies and they aren't allowed in my home. Hearing your personal opinions has reinforced why Scientology is so dangerous (and a cult) and why having a god complex is absolutely wrong. Abusing others is never acceptable and no excuses will ever make it acceptable.
He's such a cheesball anyway. On the same plane with Steven Segal who I believe was deputized or something like that, so he could bust into people's houses and bust their heads, which was shown on a tv show. Poor Pee Wee Herman and Rob Lowe are complete heroes, compared with those guys.
Other older and more popular ideologies have taken millions of lives for something as little as not believing the same. Many to this day are indoctrinated from birth! And threatened with eternal torment if they do not believe the same! Scientology is bat shit crazy but others are far worse and more sinister. Hate one, hate them all or be a hypocrite
Claire Headley is so poised and articulate in this interview. She comes across as direct and honest. It is too bad that she went through so many years of nonsense with this destructive cult. But she is so fortunate to have escaped from it, and I think it is her intelligence that helped her do that. I am very impressed.
Oh wow, great RU-vid handle! THX1138 is one of my all-time favorite sci-fi movies. I remember way back, before it was on cable, if fact, now that I think about it, before there even was cable, I'd have to stay up until 2-3am to tune into the rare occasions it was show on the air - albeit edited. I have copies in DVD and VHS. Unfortunately, and you may or may not agree, the digitally remastered version on DVD is an abomination. Adding all the CGI effects, especially humans takes away, heck, DESTROYS, the ominous feeling of emptiness, from both the physical and mental emptiness of their dystopian underground existence. The emptiness, for me, conveys the utter despair to which the human race had devolved. Adding the massive CGI population erodes that feeling completely for me. Like it's a thriving, successful, population. "Work hard, increase production, avoid accidents, and be happy."
“You don't get rich writing science fiction. If you want to get rich, you start a religion. “ Ron L Hubbard's response to a question from the audience during a meeting of the Eastern Science Fiction Association on (7 November 1948), as quoted in a 1994 affidavit by Sam Moskowitz.
Exactly! L. Ron Hubbard, according to his son, said that he and his friend sat down and contrived a plan to start a religion - - - for the sole purpose to making money. Hubbard abused his wife, threatened to kill her if she left him, he physically abused his members, etc. He was a major dick!!!
A person should never judge an actor by the character they play. Tom Cruises is definitely no top gun when it comes to character, integrity and personality and intelligence.
People don't care that he's an awful employer or person. Just like the cult, it's mostly an American problem. If only he paid what he really owed. the taxes on his income are paid, the free services delivered by slaves of the church aren't. Hiding and selling his niece aren't exactly what a good man does. His cutie cutie wife knew that. More to the point, her father knew.
Cruise is imo a genuine psycho,, that little demonstration with Matt Lauer was really indicative of his state of mind... The Slop Gun acting like he's the first person to discover that Ritalin actually has a street value... THE MAN'S A GENIUS, slap a cap with a tassel on his head and slip that PhD into his back pocket the man's a master of the obvious, which wouldn't be so bad but Cruise is acting like he's educating the whole world or something.... This happens all the time with people who got a lot of money while not actually doing anything for it.. and that absolutely idiotic challenging stare he was giving Matt during his whole instructional monologue,, the only other person I've seen do that kind of psycho stuff with interviewers is Steven Seagull...

Not only is he "tiny" and obviously suffers from "Short Man Syndrome" and 100% a Narcissist, but he is only friendly or polite when it might benefit him. He was very friendly to a 19yr old SMU student who was with me and my 10yr old daughter. The older was a gorgeous young lady so he was all smiles and happy to speak to her but would not say anything to my daughter, not even an autograph. I'm not going into this any deeper...he's not worth the time or the upset caused by his rudeness. He is not well and certainly not a good person. The girls did talk about how my 10yr old was almost as tall as he was...that made my daughter feel better and we all laughed all the way back home.
I am sure you know what your talking about. In my town we have a fair...quite large. I worked at a hotel across the street. Singers would come and sing...some stay at the hotel. Billy Ray Cyrus stated at the hotel. Rude and somewhat mean. He wouldn't even agree to toss a football out to the group. He lost supporter's that day...like he could care! Reba Mckintire came to sing...stayed in her TV. She was asked to meet a child with end stage cancer and she said ,NO. This was here say. She acted like the child was gross. My take is...these people are people in the end. Nothing special as just a person. Some are friendly some aren't.

@@tammyharless8009 really? didn't know that. Perhaps he was and left? I looked up and only thing I get is that he is a Buddhist. This would be very disappointing.
This was way back in 1997, but one thing that Tom Cruise did that rubbed me the wrong way was that immediately after Princess Diana's death, he was talking about his own experiences with having paparazzi chasing him in their vehicles. Hello?! Someone else has just died. This isn't about you, Tom!
He was supporting Princess Diana when he said that. People who haven't experienced the paparazzi on a daily basis just don't get how difficult it is to live that way.
I fully understand what you are saying! Tom's actions right after Dianna death shows how much they were bugging him, and he was wanting to release his own pressure using Diana's death to do so. I am not taking up for Tom! I just understand what he did, OK. Why did I make this statement? I have been in the same exact situation Tom was in! And there is nobody around that will listen to you. I takes a situation like Diana's to bring your situation to the general public! I have done something similiar. It's a tough situation to be in! And I wanted OUT! I was ready to do anything to get them out of my life. I wonder if most high profile people that have joined the church was merely a way to escape the church. Just think about it. I still have to hide from my situation, but it's nowhere as bad as it was at one point 25 years ago. JMO people, nothing else. Thanks for listening. FYI, it's late, and it's possible I have made a mistake in my writing, so please, just let me know!
I worked in a room with about ½ a dozen other people for 6 years. One guy was a former Scientologist. He had worked there for a few years when I was hired. Later they hired a guy that was a former Mormon. They had this game they would play, "My cult, was worse than your cult." They would compete and the rest of us would score. They were in a dead heat for 3 years. When I got a new job, my last request from my supervisor was, "replace me with an ex Jehovah's Witness, those guys need somebody new to commiserate with." Honestly, I think those 2 guy becoming friends was the best thing that could have happened to either of them. The rest of us couldn't believe what they had been through. The things they said were so bizarre to us. Yet, it was completely normal in their old life. If you are miserable, do what you have to in order to initiate positive change. Positive is the key word.
As a "mormon" I laugh at these stupidities :D Yeah yeah - I know, brain washed and so on. I say you guys are brain washed by too much YT videos. I was in LDS 20 years and never seen anything of all these idiotic stories spread by "ex-mormons". But feel free to spread these urban legends so I can laugh a bit more. These are so ridiculous :D
I was raised as a Jehovah's witness kid in a elders family and never believed any of it. But that religion is not based on bilking people of money just teach them their biblical theories. Of course there is hypocrisy in the religion as are all religions. Catholicism is one of the worst and people just ignore all that. It is full of lies and to me just as disgusting as Scientology. Power, money and deception, lies, manipulating, deception is what is Catholicism.
So Tom Cruise does not want people to know about the opulence of his private home - such that Tom Cruise lives within that opulence - with renovations that Scientology provides (as labour) as part of scientology. So Tom Cruise participates in HUMAN SLAVERY by USING many people to work on his home, BUT those people only get paid $ a pittance per week by the Scientology organization. Thus Scientology is a HUMAN SLAVERY operator. Tom Cruise could make out that he "thought" people were paid a proper income instead of a pittance but it is HUMAN SLAVERY
Everything about Scientology is human slavery. On ALL levels. Then again, all cults engage in human slavery in one form or another. Sadly, the worst being children being s** slaves.
That's outrageous. Didn't know that. Mind you I don't really know anything about any religious group apart from the fact they're money making machines for the few that prey on confused people
I honestly don't even understand at all why Tom Cruise has been regarded as highly as he has been/is in Hollywood. He's primarily a one note actor, even in his "golden" acting years. Not terrible in any sense, but not at all as legendary as he's made out to be. Put him in a film (or literally just one scene) with Daniel Day Lewis, Anthony Hopkins, Leonardo DiCaprio, ADRIEN BRODY... he couldn't hold a candle
Absolutely ! he was promising, not groudbreaking when he was young. He stopped "acting" long ago. Became an action figure in blockbusters, The only good franchise he can cherish is Mission-Impossible, no thanks to him..just wait 10 years and Simon Pegg will be hilar ious as ever at narrating the experience with a step back. if HE can't, Ricky Gervais will..you gotta love the British spirit. They make room for all kinds of humour and "all public" shows. they don't care about PC because they're not nasty to begin with..They cuddle little sociopaths too ever since they stopped beating their buttocks..(late 90s) but the English education provided generations of gentlemen.. Not that the king himself was too happy about it.. Somehow OO7, will always be the measure in most hearts. as will be the acclaimed actors of the series mission impossible. They made us believe in crazy plots with very little budget.
@@nichellepeters5195 none of us are. He's become a one -trick pony as acting goes and scum as person long ago. Do I want to see the end of his Mission Impossible, yes. Do I want him to pay for reparations for illegal work, YES I DO ! The whole nine yards, top to bottom, car love included. I don't know about the US, but employing people without lawful contracts equals to a full job with full benefits in Europe. Okay if the Church clocked the hours, and vaporized taxes..let's check their status..and ask their people their tax return
Exactly - the scientology thing is enough for me, he disgusts me. And yes, he is such a narcissist. I really don't care one bit about his age. Would never go watch one of his movies.
@@englishincontext4025 Actors in Hollywood believe they are superior in every way to us mere mortals 😂 If only they heard how irrelevant they truly are amongst real people. I lived in Clearwater for years before discovered by LEON Hubbard. Oh how I wished that never happened. Clearwater is a small city. The Scientologists snuck in covertly buying major property downtown. They bought the entire downtown, boudoir Bayfront from the city for peanuts. The Bayfront Clearwater citizens loved and went to all kinds of concerts and firework viewing. The Scientologists agree a very odd, closed bunch. They run around till 4-5am dressed in fake navy uniforms. Literally running. Tom won't like me saying this. He had a beautiful church torn down over the bay and built this 25 or so story condominium where he has the top floors and an elevator to lift his cars up. They are special cars. One night in around around time of the movie with the futuristic cars, this red low car I had no idea what it was, except a sports car, stopped, Tom leaned over looked me over and drove off. The Scientologists ruined me by leaving me in the lurch for unpaid rents and bills. They paid off the popo who raided my home and drove me off. Scientologists suck!!!!!

I hope you are doing okay Eileen now, and so much wiser for your knowledge of this cult. Thank you for sharing your personal experience. I hope you are okay. Thank you for all who speak out against Scientology. Where is Miscaviges wife (name ?) As Leah asks. In my opinion. NSW Australia

Ran into ( literally) Tom while leaving an Air Force base in Central NY ( I am from Syracuse Ny … Tom was born here too) and it was before his Scientology cult. He seemed arrogant when I spoke briefly to him. He was making the film Top Gun at the time. Not a fan of this guy being in such an evil Cult!!
I nominate Keanu Reeves, the nicest man in Hollywood, to take over all of Tom’s roles and franchises and Tom should be run out of Hollywood. 😂 😂 a girl can dream.
I get the vibe that Nicole doesn’t speak out because her kids are in, and she knows the only chance to regaining a relationship with them is to play nice.
Nicole Kidman loves all her children. The two she adopted with TC do not see her since she’s not a Scientologist. Love that she’s found happiness with Keith Urban they have two beautiful girls together.
About 10 years ago, I watched a TV documentary on Scientology. According to the show, the leader of Scientology was known to be having trouble with his wife. Then one day, the Mrs. vanished, never to be seen again. What do Scientology followers think about this? Has the Mrs. ever been found?
Tom Cruise is dispicable to me in that he abandoned his actual bio daughter, I find that inexcusable and the fact that he chose his religion over his daughter says more about his priorities then anything else.
@@rosemarywoolley8394 + I don't generally approve of insulting or putting people down on the internet, or in person. But I gotta admit, that statement was funny. It reminds me of Geena Davis, in the movie "The Long Kiss Goodnight" asking Samuel L. Jackson, "are you always this stupid, or did you take lessons!" To which he said, "I took lessons!" 😄
Doesn't know Claire, doesn't know Cruise and yet is making defamatory statements about someone many would consider a victim if he wasn't an international star and multi-millionaire.
Are you a real Democracy America? What's your government and judiciary doing about this Scientology?I hope they were doing their shenanigans in South Africa. The masses would force them to close. And shame on Tom Cruise.Neglecting his daughter for a cult? And do they read the Bible?🤷🤷
Claire is fantastic to listen to, and I'm so glad there are people like her brave enough with the intelligence and courage to let the rest of us know and understand what life inside Scientology is really like. She's excellent to listen to.
Claire is my fav to listen to. She explains the ins and outs of Scientology so well for someone like me who’s never been in to get a good grasp on it. She seems to have so much patience and understanding and handles these difficult conversations with care. Such an admirable person
She seemed like a level-headed gal, makes me wonder how they fooled her to begin with. I like her, but just at the end of the video I heard something that bothered me: she said that she had indeed seen Miscavige abuse a minor...I don't care if you're the pope, if you abuse a child, I'm going to be all over you. Women are hardwired to protect children, she did say she protects her children from them. I just feel in my heart of hearts that any child we see abused, we need to shout it loud and clear. I'm glad she got free of these people.
I worked for Scientology when I was 22 years old And could never understand how anyone could be sucked into this 💩. They tried to get me but I wouldn’t go for it.
@@buddygrimfield7954 had not heard that you had to join them to be an employee. They were more than keen to have me as their employee and I had answered an advertisement in the Columbus dispatch newspaper. I was only 22 years old and it was 1988 and the ad said it was for the church of Scientology and silly me thought it was an actual church. They really wanted my repro skills as it wasn’t that common back then. I had a lot of print work experience. After I started working for them, they were paying me in “credits “which was nothing but BS for not really anything, and let’s try and keep as much of that as we can by getting you to buy our junk. the only thing I got from them was a book because I felt sorry for the poor guy who kept trying to get me to buy something and I said well I’ll check it out and I bought the book and it was stupid. Who in their right mind is going to think sci-fi is real in the case that they had was ridiculous. It was all aliens and garbage, and really stupid. They had an office that they kept in pristine condition and had photographs of L Ron Hubbard and his wife on the walls and on the desk and I remember the door had a frosted glass from the middle part of the door to the top. The rest of the door was white. Kind of reminded me of the old fashion doors that she was seeing the doctors office from the 40s 50s and so forth. I was told that they kept the office ready to go so when L Ron Hubbard got there and he could be there at any time that it was all set for him. I didn’t find out so many years later that L Ron Hubbard died in 1985. Like I said it looks stupid. The whole thing seems stupid in like a gimmick to me and I didn’t last of the job because I didn’t like being screwed around. I was a young mother and I didn’t have time for their mess. It definitely had a cold feeling to it. Their eyes were glazed over and they were just strange. My immediate boss seemed like an old hippie really. But now I don’t know that you ever had to be a member of the church to work for them. I don’t think they had any problem, screwing anybody out of money. Hope that helps. That’s pretty much what I know.
@@buddygrimfield7954 oh yeah, another thing you might be interested in. They had a poor fella working there and he might’ve been 25. Very nice soft-spoken guy. I've always had the sense of something repellant about Cruise and this just goes to add emphasis to the image of this man as a supremely arrogant, narcissistic and unhinged monster who on some level probably truly believes that he is a god and therefore far above us humble mortals in status and importance. Regarding scientology, it would be laughable and ridiculous in the extreme if it wasn't so dangerously powerful. It's very encouraging to hear that membership is falling: let's fervently hope that its days are numbered. PS: Tom Cruise - handsome? Yuck! Andrew, you're far better looking than Cruise!
From all accounts John Travolta is a nice, decent guy. That being said his autistic son Jet had a seizure disorder and was denied proper care because it entailed psychotropic medications such as phenobarbital. He had a seizure, hit his head and died. John’s wife Kelly got breast cancer and in my opinion did not receive proper care because they think vitamins , saunas, etc. is all the treatment they need. Many Scientologists die from mismanagement of their disease. As a student nurse I had a Sea Org. guy come in with a mangled foot due to a back hoe injury. They only brought him in because the foot was severely infected from non medical treatments.
@@prettylady995 Not suspicious at all. Lisa Marie was taking drugs, just like the majority of Hollywood does, and then had a Heart Attack, following in the footsteps of her father Elvis.

It’s really great now that people are coming out about this. In fact there’s a guy who stands around on Hollywood Boulevard taunting the center and really getting away with a lot. I am from the old, old school. My brother was a very big Scientologist in Los Angeles in the 60s and 70s, I believe he literally went back to the 50s. He knew L Ron Hubbard and the whole family were in the org members. If I mention his name, I’m sure some old timers will know who I’m talking about he used to lecture on Saturday nights. What hell my father and my family went through in the 70s. What hell I went through as a young child, the abuse that I dealt with and the psychological distress. It wasn’t like my family was very healthy to begin with, but this was so much. For those that go back along way, you may remember his name and I’ll just use the first name, Seaton T. Wishing all of you good health and peace.
I worked at a large casino in the 90's. A coworker told me that a floorperson talked to one of the regular customers, an older gentleman. This customer told her that one time he was on a plane and Tom and Nicole was seated over from him and a couple seats down. He was a fan of Tom's and kept looking back at him. After they were in the air he heard Tom being rude to Nicole. And then he heard a slap. He said he looked over and realized that Tom had slapped Nicole. He said that was the day he stopped being a fan of Tom Cruise. I had a hard time believing that Tom had slapped Nicole. Now I believe that he could have easily slapped her.
What a bag of dirt he truly is, so disappointing that someone with his influence, celebrity with such deep pockets is brainwashed so easily and feels is just fine to abuse your wife in public, ha ! If he did that to me he’d get it right back with a closed fist . To bad it took her 11 years to flush that waste product away !
I was in Scientology in the 90's and after assisting in some after hours meetings with the staff; I saw that this was an other evil Dogma intending to rule the world... I left immediately... Then I was from a strong personality type of person to an enemy in just a few days later...
Try again to get rid of their Tax Exempt status. I know it was tried before but they were able to blackmail the IRS through sheer numbers. Unbelievable!!
I read Rob Lowe's book, and although he didn't say anything overtly bad about working with Tom Cruise, he did recount a story about him being laser focused on his role, and being in character at all times during filming. I'm completely paraphrasing, and it's been a long time since I read it. Basically, he said he couldn't hang out while they were filming different movies in the same city because he was "Joe" or whatever character he was playing, not Tom. From all of the different comments about Cruise by various people, he sounds like a narcissistic control freak. I'm also guessing that his exes had to sign ironclad non disclosure agreements when they divorced because none of them ever say anything about him. He gives me a bad feeling because he looks similar to my ex who was a major control freak and nearly destroyed me.
I remember that part of the book… something about Cruise phoning his agent wanting a separate room to the others or to be moved to a different hotel. Basically special treatment when he was still an unknown.
Alot of actors are reported to stay in character to bring realism to the screen some study real life characters being portrayed in films and stay in character also while not on set every one uses the tools they need to pull off the expected no big deals...
I am fascinated by Scientology. Not because I want to join but because of everything I hear about it. This was a fantastic interview. I had no idea of the power Tom Cruise has over Scientology. I will not support his movies again. Sorry but I don’t support abuse. Thank you ❤
Its hard for me to believe grown adults could fall for bull shit like this. But i learned years ago. ITS EASIER TO FOOL SOMEONE THAN IT IS TO CONVINCE THEM THEY HAVE BEEN FOOLED.
@@lifewithoutfear1213 I really don't fall for anything if I find logic rational and proof I may walk or even run to it. But falling certainly isn't the right word for me anyway. I've never understood how a grown somewhat competent person could put any value in Islam. Scientology. And even certain Christian cults that take it way out there. And once you learn about the history or beginning of said occult. It makes more sense to worship and pray to Snoopy and the red baron. I understand we as humans with different cultures around the globe have different mindsets of belief in many things. But I've done some fairly deep research on Scientology and Islam. Allah and Muhammad the mubahalah and the hadith. And this is nonthing more than my personal opinion. But I will say it again as respectful as I know how to. I do not see or understand how anyone that does not have a mental handicap could believe in some of the most dumbest idiotic subject's a person could explore.
Hi Andrew. Tom (5'5"), David (5'3"). Both men suffer from "Short Man's Complex". I know. I married one who was handsome, successful but his shortness made him.mean. He was a true narcissist.
Now sorry to group people together because they are shorter men is ridiculous and prejudice. What you like to have your character judged on your face body ect. You sound like a scientology member that you hate. Seriously sophomoric remark. I may also add the fact that you married a narrcasist shows your lack of substance or lack of awareness
Anyone can be a narcissist and an a$$hole, even the tallest of people. My son is 5ft 6 but he's probably 10 X the person you are and he's a doctor who might be in charge of your ventilator one day. Honestly, the short jibes are so hurtful and being taller doesn't make you any better a person, although maybe that's all you've got.
First time watching you and just the headline made my skin crawl. For years many youngsters raved over Tom Cruise......I found and still do find him repulsive. He's progressively got worse mainly with his personal life. Just had to have my five pence worth.
I loved the first few movies I saw him in -The Firm, A Few Good Men, Born on the Fourth of July - but those are just the type of movie I like. I haven't seen any of his action movies cause they're not my cup of tea. I was really disappointed in Born on the Fourth because I just couldn't find Tom's portrayal of his character believable, but forced myself to watch the whole movie because I was interested in the story. Then I tried to watch Magnolia and just found his character too repulsive. I thought about it for quite some time. Why did I find him so good in the first two movies and repulsive in the next two? Finally, I came to the conclusion that he really can't act. In the first two movies, he played an intense young lawyer, highly driven, idealistic, fresh out of law school and laser focused on the task at hand. There was no character development and little emotional life involved. When he brought that same lack of emotionality to his other movies, he flopped big time. When I heard he was in a cult, it all made sense. Cults train people to wear a mask at all times, regardless of situation. When you see him in interviews - where he is presumably not acting - he looks like he is wearing a teflon mask laminated onto his face - it's his Stepford Wives mask.
Everyone is amped up about Mission Impossible being released. It's probably a great movie, but I refuse to see anything with Tom Cruise in it because of Scientology.
I’m very impressed at the way in which Andrew allows Claire the opportunity to complete her sentences. So many interviews are more about the interviewer than their guest. Did Tom Cruise deliberately remove himself from his daughter’s life or did Katie Holmes make contact difficult. To wipe out the fact that he has a teenage daughter because of the Scientology ‘Cult’ is beyond my comprehension. Yet Suri is possibly better off without her narcissist father attempting to whip her into shape, so to speak! 😡
From what has been released, she made sure Suri had limited and observed contact with her father so that she wouldn't become a scientologist. Katie played it smart.
Katie, can’t see Tom can’t prevent Tom from seeing Siri Tom did that because Siri is not a Scientologist you can’t associate with anyone in the church that’s not a Scientologist so he gave up his true flesh and blood for Scientology . that is pathetic
Well you just answered my question Tom Cruise does donate a lot of money to them so that explains the renovations going on for him, he basically paid for those renovations so there's your explanation he is not getting them for nothing.
Katie Holmes probably has to take medication for PTSD for being with Tom Cruise. I can't imagine what he put her through. But I'm sure it was pretty pretty awful.
Tom Cruise was very rude to a good friend of mine who was his #1 Fan. This girl was crazy about him. She was constantly talking about how great an actor he was, how wonderful his movies were. Then she actually got the chance to meet him when he was doing publicity for a film in our city. She was so excited, then he body shamed her as he gave her an autograph. In front of many people! He loudly proclaimed, "I don't date fat women!" She had asked for an autograph, not a date! She was horrified, embarrassed and was totally over him in that instant. Can you imagine how heart broken she was? She came straight to me and told me the story, while sobbing hysterically. I've never watched another one of his films since. From what you are saying in this video, he is very unhappy with his own life. You are correct, he is NOT a nice person at all!
Wow! An eye opener! I dealt with being raised in a Cult religion....I left with my two sons after 41 years of husband abuse & religious abuse. The fragile state of my mind and my sons took years & layers of healing. Thank God, it paled in comparison to Scientology. I wrote a trilogy memoir which went into depth of how I rescued us. Free Me From My Cage. Aubrianna Rose.
I'm going to look that up! I heard it's hard to leave that organization making it cultish.....I think they also have members go out and recruit for new members....more cult like! Thanks for sharing.

I knew a lady that worked for Michael Brett...a large business man in Scientology in his own right....and she also worked as the secretary and the Scientology celebrity center in Las Vegas. So she worked this job for mike and also worked another 40 hrs for the LVSCC to pay for her "auditing" classes. So she had a disabled son that she took care of and he had an issue where he was at the hospital and she sat in a chair with wheels and she broke her hip at the hospital...then while they was picking her up they dropped her and she broke the other hip. So now she is in the hospital with 2 broken hips and she had just gotten the 2nd hip replacement hip and the Scientology center called and wanted her to leave the hospital AMA to come and work at the Las Vegas center as the secretary. She of course could not do that. So they made her a "suppressive person" i know they have another word for it. But they sent her to a collection agency that harassed her for the money for the auditing classes that they said she "needed" to take. They called her all the time and harassed her neighbors and spread rumors about her which anyone that knew flo knew that she was a great person. At any rate, michael wanted me to join but heck no!! Im not going into this money scam, which is all Scientology is. At any rate...i dont know what happened to flo but i think she may have died. Horrible horrible people.
When i saw Tom in the Outsiders back in the 80's, I thought he looked a weasel. Today he still looks like a weasel to me. Never understood the attraction. I think weasel fits.
I forgot who said it but there was some kind of backstory said that movie. I think they had to share a room or hotel room or a trailer something his budget wasn't there for private rooms.
I have never warmed to Tom Cruise. I've never watched any of his movies. Even from when I was young he's just felt "not right" to me. I don't know what he's done. Looking forward to listening to you both
I know exactly what you mean. Even before I knew anything about Scientology - my gut instinct told me there was something a bit off about TC - and I'm a huge movie fan
My aunt and uncle had to flee halfway across the world to escape the Scientologists that roped them into their cult and threatened them with extortion amongst other things because they wanted to leave. They had to hide out for over 10 years.
It's amazing to me that Scientology is still around. Good to hear that its numbers are decreasing. I guess it's fairly common knowledge now that Scientology is bogus, and that it was started and still exists for the sole purpose of enriching a few people. I recall reading about how Scientology beat the US govt. a few decades ago. Anyway, I'm glad that I never got caught up in that sort of stuff. Thanks for an interesting interview/discussion. Thumbs up.
Why is this so amazing / unbelievable to you? We are a group of individuals and overestimate our power to resist being influenced. We believe that we are all unique and that we make up our minds, individually. but still, after 10 years of insidious propaganda, German started killing their neighbors simply because they were jews...... We are merely primates with a large ego. we have a LONG way to go. Nothing surprises me anymore. People dying in ukraine, and we are worried about 5 billionaires that died in an implosion of an experimental submarine at amot 4000 meters because.... they didn't have anything else to do.
Why would he leave? He doesn't have everything to gain if so, does he. He's diety-status with an entire organization of zealous slaves working 24/7 to be abused at his beck and call. In an echo chamber of extremism with him at the apex. In a cult with typical us-vs-them we-know-the-truth/see-the-light repetitive confirmation. As much as he gives to it, props it up, he's in such a position there that he's benefiting himself. And has so much "outside"/for himself, generating hundreds of millions every year that such a distinction is moot. It's not like his involvement in Scientology is hurting his career or popularity in society. Or his power. He has zero incentive to leave. And if he did he'd be embarrassed, "defeated", thrust into an existence outside his reality where suddenly he's not godly but an extremely flawed human being.
He compromised himself in his auditing sessions, which were recorded. You haven't the faintest clue what you're on about. Read / watch something. His four wives are beards. Look it up.
I live in Clearwater. Our church planned a gathering/seminar/meeting to educate people about Scientology. It was canceled due to threats. All kinds of different things. Physical and destruction of property. With our convictions we would have moved forward but our clergy decided to protect us. Before I became a church goer, pretty much everyone I knew hated them. They walk around in military hats and uniforms. The look straight ahead, don't speak.
The scios drove me out of my home in County Club Estates. I had been finding out a lot about what they're about. There's a tunnel that crosses the lobby in their building at SE Ft Harrison and Cleveland. This short tunnel is only three feet high. Perfect to let short aliens cross the lobby at the third floor or a dog.
I can’t even imagine the dystopian , 1984 world Scientologists have in store for us. If they are clear shouldn’t they be in a “ nirvana like” state? It seems to me that that run around stressed out and miserable.
Oh My Andrew, this topic revives awful memories, as my late brother who was highly intelligent became hooked on Scientology at age 46. He was brainwashed and became very aggressive to me when I refused to "join". He offered to pay large sums of money to have me "audited". I know so much about this destructive cult. Amazingly, so many tecruits here in South Africa ate extremely wealthy or at leat well-off. . Strangely, my brother was extremely good looking and he had a Doctorate in Economics. He became weird and used so many "key-words". But I never was aware of him " doing" weird things - he only "talked" weird things! One frightening aspect was his emphasis on people using total Self -control and not exhibiting laughter or any gushing sounds . After some years, we grew apart, and sadly so, as we were so close as children . When I was adult enough to differentiate and question my brother and disagree with him, he drifted away from me and actually told me that I needed to go to a Funny Farm because i questioned what then became THE CHURCH of SCIENTOLOGY to legalize the cult.
I've met people who have known Tom Cruise and worked with a girl whose sister was working closely with him on a film. I haven't heard a good word said about him and some of it I can't repeat here but these people would have no reason to lie.
Yeah apparently an extra on Rock of Ages said Tom refused to come to set early in the morning. So everyone was waiting for hours in the cold. When he showed up hours later to "grace everyone with his presence" Tom apparently said he wasn't sorry because he was the star and no one cared about them so he could do what he wants. Always remember, you can like his movies but hate the actor for being a jerk. Stories like this aren't surprising from him.
I was done with Tom Cruise when he attacked Brooke Shields comments about postpartum depression. Then completely done when he jumped on the couch over Katie.
Amen! Brooke felt overwhelmed, and she was wise enough to seek medical attention with the full support of her wonderful husband. Very quickly, she was back to normal. Cruise was horrible to her and to Matt Lauer in his interview. Cruise later apologized to Brooke, and she graciously accepted his apology. But many in the public were still angry.
I’ve met two men who claimed to have had sex with….let’s call him “Todd” Cruise. The first is a very normal guy I hung out with socially many times over the 32 years I’ve lived in Chicago. He’s well liked and regarded as honest. He also doesn’t draw attention to himself or tell outlandish stories. The second person I only met twice for short periods of time, therefore, I don’t know much about his reputation or honesty. The two men don’t know each other, and have never met to my knowledge. But here is what is interesting to me. Their short stories about the sexual encounters with TC were nearly identical. For example, he was looking for a specific physical trait in his sex partners. You don’t need your imagination hat to figure this one out. Also, the settings were the same. The first was at a large fundraising type cocktail event. And the second was also a cocktail event, but it was one that the second guy was working at as part of the catering team. Both said that he took the same position sexually and insisted on safety. Both indicated that he was extremely short in stature in person and wore a baseball cap pulled low to conceal his identity. And finally, it was a very one and done thing with little or no exchange of info or conversation. The reason I bring it up is that I just found it very interesting how the church of Scientology conceals the sexual orientation of several of its megastar members and I’m guessing is the selling point for some of these people to get involved with the church in the first place. Also, Amazing is the elaborate way that they create these marriage relationships for these men and carefully craft their public image as that of a straight hunk. The one that I always found hysterical is when Rosie O’Donnell would publicly swoon over Tom Cruise and make a big deal out of her huge attraction to him especially on her TV show before she ever came out. What a bunch of horse s***. The only interest Rosie O’Donnell ever had in Tom Cruise was maybe to arm wrestle him. Finally, I will say that coming out is an extremely difficult thing to do no matter how old a person is and no matter how self confident they appear. It is also supposed to be a very private decision and left up to the person that is dealing with it, so I didn’t want to make fun of that issue, but deciding not to come out and deliberately constructing the opposite message, always struck me as being extremely hypocritical.
