Did you go to a religious school? Any similarities? Who shall I interview next? Let me know below (and make sure to hit like, and share - it makes a big difference to the algorithm!)
Hi Andrew! You might want to get a Danny Masterson trial update from A Aron! He’s going back home today for a long weekend. A Aron is extremely informative and endlessly entertaining!
I think you should interview Micah Losh. He is a former Jehovah's Witness that has had a really hard time. He recently published a book called "Mentally Diseased."
I was in the cadet Org and really don’t consider it a school. It was more like a joke. We would start studying math or spelling or something. And then a Sea Org member would come over and say they need us to do some kinda of work and school would be over and we would be doing filing. Or for some kind of renovation project and then when they bought the ranch, we would go up to the ranch and knock down walls and renovate to get it ready for all the Sea Org kids to move up there.
Dear Andrew, could you please consider to invite a psychiatrist or psychologist that is specified in cults to talk about the aftermath and possible PTSD (when escaping)? And how to deal with it, what to do. That would be interesting. Thank you so much. XX
What a beautiful human this lady. I am really enjoying this interview. I believe we are all controlled, perhaps to a lesser degree, or a greater degree than Scientology. We are brain washed from the cradle to the grave and to release that programming is so difficult. This girl is absolutely a delight and so strong and also brave. I cannot imagine what she went through. Thank you Andrew.
@jacquelinedesanctis U R so right about that! Thankfully I was never programmed in the way of relegion. But still I have my own neurosis from living in this world. We R the subject of many genetic experiments
And how.... HOW can we as voters make this happen?? I absolutely want to do something as someone who never knew about scientology until Leah Remini's show. But how can those outsiders who support SPs, how do r even help?
Thank you Dani for sharing your story. You were so open, honest, articulate and brave beyond your years to do what you did to escape and stand by your mum. I’m really sorry for what that cult did to you as a child. The blatant hypocrisy of them declaring your mum when she’s suffering from alcoholism and had bought you some, meanwhile they’d sexually traumatised you, which probably rises to the level of abuse when you’re so young. The more I hear from Andrew’s guests and Aaron, I cannot believe this so called church is allowed to exist. There should be a class action lawsuit with all of you in it against them. Dani, I’m so happy you’re living your best life now with music. You are doing such a noble cause in rescuing animals, especially the dogs from South Korea. I applaud you wholeheartedly for that. 👏❤️🙏🎶
I went to a Delphi School for almost 4 years. Thank you both for bringing this angle to light. It’s been a wild journey “out” but I fully relate to your experience.
There's a lot of love out here in the world for those strong enough to leave cults. I hope you're surrounded by new friends who accept you as you are without pretense.
She is a joy to look at and to listen to. Even with such grave issues. And I really love the way you listen and let the story grow on its own. Your channel is one of the best and it is because of the way you are.
Dani is a very special, very intelligent and compassionate young woman. She deserves so much respect for sharing her story with us. I wish her the best and hope all her dreams and aspirations come true as she deserves it all.
How disturbing to think of what it would do a person's psychology to have no boundaries, no trust, no ability to think for yourself. Being forced to attend "session" and "ethics" to force-mold your behavior - it's AWFUL.
This beautiful young woman is doing so much better than many others would be able to do. I hope she knows she's a beacon of hope for so many others who've been born into a life that's off, made to make her feel that. She's going to be alright!! Bless her heart & sending her strength. She's much to be proud of!!❤❤❤❤
I feel for this young woman. Another childhood stolen by Scientology. And now she feels therapy is an ongoing necessity. She commented, Scientology creates little soldiers with no room to be a child. Just so sad. Therapy or not Dani seems quite strong to me. Strong enough to get out and create a normal life for herself. Thank you Andrew for this interview as it adds to the arsenal of information. And hopefully get more Scientologists to see the truth and leave this cult.
I respect these children of scientology that talk about it and get out. It's effected their lives but because of their strength they will help others. God bless them.😢Very sad life they lived but I honor and have mad respect for them for talking about it. You have No idea how many others your helping. Your definitely servin your purpose in life. Sending you Soooooo much love. 🫂🙌🏻🙏✝️⛪️🌺🌿
I wonder if any Scientologists that watch these videos to monitor and report ever start to question and decide to escape. Thank you both for a good interview and talk 💚
Directly to this young lady…I left what I believe to be a narcissistic mother and ex-husband. Each relationship was a mini cult of one. It effected my children similar to what you are talking about. I’m so sorry about the effect Scientology upon you. You are adorable, precious, and beautiful. You are so smart! I believe one day you will shine!!
Really good interview technique. This person felt so relaxed with Andrew at one point she realised she needed to hold back a bit. This is a gem of an interview, these Sci Fi based cults like S and Jedi. People want this way of life. Baffling.
Andrew is a great interviewer. Guest after guest comes on being somewhat tense and by the end of the interview they seem to be chatting like old friends. His technique, demeanor and gentle but pertinent questioning allow the guests to open up and tell their stories with ease. Andrew is a master of his craft and make real connections to his guests. -dave
I can relate to her ❤ growing-up as the black sheep of a narc family, i hid everything , i lied to survive , i had to. It's survival instinct. So glad this f....ry is being exposed increasingly, too many victims, too much generational trauma , too many taboos & secrets. Thank you very much 🙏
Thx Dani for your bravery in telling your story. I’m sure you are helping both yourself and others with similar stories to overcome all the twisted cultish programming. My best to you.
I didn’t grow up in Scientology but in a Catholic family in Paris in the 70’s and I too were treated as a little adult at age 4. I was given the key to the front door and had to pick up my brother (we were both in kindergarten) and walk home with him. I was put on a train at age 6 to be picked up 6 hours later by the German border by an aunt. I couldn’t read well yet so I had to count the number of stations/stops to make sure I would get off the train in the right town. I too was a people pleaser and not allowed to make mistakes.
Great interview! How awful to "session" kids! So damaging! I love that Andrew actually listens to people instead of just waiting to talk. Well done! ✌️
She is STUNNING ! I would have gone ultra mega clear right in front of Xenu if I knew there were Scientologists that looked like this ! Much love to both of you. This interview is heartbreaking.
I'm also Portuguese and I didn't realize there were ANY Portuguese people in Scientology. I really enjoyed hearing her story and feel blessed that I didn't grow up like that.
I’m Portuguese too and I wonder why anyone would be surprised that there are Portuguese people in Scientology or in any other religion. So if you’re Portuguese you have to be Catholic? That makes no sense. I’m a Christian Scientist and I know Portuguese Jews, Buddhists, etc. In fact some of the earliest Portuguese in America were Jews.
@@AnnieTyme she’s probably Portuguese-American (I am 3rd generation) and while many are Catholic there are Sephardic Jews and some secular people in modern times.
way to go girl!!! great interview andrew!!! i have to agree with danni about human nature. it is becoming more and more so as people become more desperate and greedy. some great insights acknowledged in this chat. my heart goes out to her but she seems to be a mighty resilient woman and the things she is doing now is inspiring.
Dani, thank you for being so open and honest. You are a strong, wonderful woman ❤ I am a friend of John Travolta. I've spent time with him and his family over the years.
Andrew, I can definitely verify that not everyone has parental instincts and/or has unconditional love for their kids, and even in the cult-like mentality of a narcissistic family it plays out just the same way. I lost everyone and everything overnight when my sociopathic husband (diagnosed aspd/npd) weaponized my narcissistic family against me when I was in the midst of a health crisis and at needed support more than ever before.
I'm so sorry you went through that. I grew up with a violent narcissistic stepfather, so understand the impact they can have on your family, health and wellbeing. I hope you're doing better now.
Bullseye! Not all parents, moms, have instincts for one reason or another. I was born 18 months after a nar/pycho person. I feel for all born near these types.
So Sorry and I feel you. I am 55 and as a child my Father was a monster and my mother was a submissive. I left home at 15 and struggled on my own. The monster finally died3 yrs ago ( long exhale) and I now am my mothers caregiver. I hated her for never getting us out but as an adult I now understand she was a victim just like us 4 kids. I made a conscious decision not to have children myself because of my own childhood. I have no other family now because we all went our separate ways.
Thank you so much for your bravery and honesty. I do believe that the maternal instincts are stronger in some women. I know mine are much stronger than my mother's - although she did try to make sure I was safe. My children have thanked me for being such a loving, but fiercely protective mom! I know how I feel, so it was great to have them validate my love and my fighting spirit that has kept them feeling loved and safe ❤🤗❤
I lost my mum at 5 years old ,not knowing my Dad and his partner I was thrown into a life of a child that was made to suffer when their Father had to go out to work for weeks ,I only blamed myself. It's so astonishingly that it really will never matter how many years pass,It can and never will be okay . I lost so much ,all I ever needed was a responsibility Adult to take care of a fragile ❤in a volatile environment 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Thank you for sharing with us! I can't imagine what this amazing young woman has been through! These institutions are very powerful and I'm glad more people are starting to realize the corruption behind them especially scientology! God bless you guys!
My parents raised us in Seventh Day Adventist church. They were both Farmers kids and youngest of 8. They raised us a lit like you say, work ethic was prime, doing excellently in all things was demanded. Its not so different from most who grew up in the '40s - '60s. Digging, snooping, questioning us ad-nauseum. It was sick in many ways. I'm 72 now and have had a lot of work to back out of that screwed way of living. Sad for you, many healing blessings. Love and light
another very articulate guest and another story helping the rest of us to understand how our upbringing by well meaning parents who have been taken in by a cult can expose a child to experiences that brainwash the child to not question. The snitch mentality reminds me of what we hear it was like to grow up in a communist country. Dani has a strong spirit to have been able to see through it. Her cynicism is realistic. The hard part is to distinguish between those who are genuinely of good intent and those who are not - but with such a strong spirit she will, and she is helping others to, as well.
I agree with you completely, Andrew, about maternal and paternal instinct. My mother hated me. I don’t know why people get so upset by the truth. Dani has humanity summed up quite well.
Dani, I am so very sorry you suffered the abuse of the Scientology cult. Just plain awful and disgusting. Illegal. I am sorry for your trauma. 💔I hope you are able to recover from the abuse.
I loved you interview I’m not into that cult stuff but I love to hear the stories of escaping losing that gazed look 😊 Happy to know your back with your mom & I wish you wonderful happiness ❤
I’m so glad I finally got to watch this. What a beautiful human Dani is. The most insane thing about cos is the fact that in America they are allowed to continue their heinous activities. It just has to stop.
Dani is certainly an exceptional human being. So intelligent and empathetic. Nothing could kill her spirit. Thank you both for this superb interview. ♥
They did that to John Travolta. As soon as he made negative comments about Scientology suddenly there were tapes, in his voice, admitting very private thoughts, dragged out of him by his handler during sessions with that infernal e-machine. What sort of dirt they have on Tom Cruise must be staggering.
Also I need to say that Miss Armando is a beautiful human being she should be proud of being on this planet, we need more people like her to fix this mess ... she is a breath of hope!!!!
I decided I was going to read the book Dianetics many years ago. I only got through a tiny bit of it before I stopped reading. It's just a bunch of craziness.
I can't imagine having such a sad childhood. It's crazy to have to choose between parents. Growing up, I always had a dichotomous life, split between living with my grandmother who was religious but allowed a huge amount of freedom to learn and explore and visiting my parents on the weekend, who were a little stricter. (I had two bedrooms.) I never had to choose sides. I lived with my grandma during the week because she needed the company, and both my parents worked. My life was a typical 70s/80s childhood. You made your bed, cleaned your room, did chores, and then spent the rest of your time outside until the streetlights came on. There were no helicopter parents and crazy zealots to worry about. All of this was authoritative, not authoritarian training. The guidelines were good grades, good behavior, and having some responsibilities, with little micromanaging. Even though I had a rich religious heritage, it became my life's sanctuary and still is. It's easier to unplug from daily stresses with that element in my life. But, I am able to balance both of these worlds. One of the biggest balancing agents was the YMCA. I had been introverted until I became a member at our local Y, which gave me so many social skills. I still love Y culture and am almost a lifetime member, having brought my hubby of almost 35 years into it 23 years ago.
As an older person, having been raised Mormon, My brother decided to join Scientology, after LDS. Many of the emotional experiences you were subjected to, LDS have their same versions of the same thing.
Mormons are a CULT too. An evil cult too. You need to research your own cult. You’re brainwashed. All cults, including yours, belong to one huge major cult, Freemasonry.
I went to a C of E infant and primary school, but they were very accepting of all faiths despite our daily services and monthly church visits. I remember that there was a boy who was from a Jehovah Witness family who was allowed to sit out our assemblies etc
I love your potcasts !!! All your guests are so intresting!!! Finally the Pandora box of cults and religions is open to the world. I follow you from Thailand. Thank you for all your contents they enrich me
You are such a strong, beautiful, courageous woman, I was also raised in a religious cult, and suffered abuse (it seems most of these cults are full of sexual perverts and abusers) I also now spend a lot of time alone with my animals, I dont like being around a lot of people, thank you for sharing your story with us xoxoxo
Dani you are an amazing beautiful woman thank you for sharing your lifeI can not imagine how you got through it all without help I will be praying for you thank you Andrew for allowing Dani to speak on your podcast❤ so very enlightening
Ha ha. The nuns used to make us chickenpick and clean the windows until a parent got wise and put a stop to it. Quote: "I'm not paying school fees for my child to do your cleaning." What a great guest! Thanks Andrew!
She’s a sweetheart; I saw her on C to C as well. I can’t believe how much Scientology is like the military. The snitching especially and also the special language, the acronyms, the suppression of thoughts etc
@@bonnielucas1941 they can go up to $100 Thousand, but very few any more than that. Plus all ours require school uniforms which again run into the thousands. I sent my 4 children to private religious schools as I found the standard of education much higher than the free state school system, plus as I'd been educated at one I found it easier to get my own children in. Sometimes the waiting lists can last for years
😢 She needs a new therapist. One who helps her deal with her feelings and emotions surrounding her parents rather than the intellectualization of the events and injustices of Scientology. 😢
It sounds like she’d rather not get too deep into those things. Just because she’s not talking about the emotional family stuff, doesn’t mean she’s not dealing with that. She probably just wants to keep it private, and a big part of that is probably to protect her relatives from Scientology.
I am therapist and sometimes people do not want to go there. Personally, I think going backwards can send you backwards. I once had a therapist go your childhood. i legit looked at them and said I had a great childhood
When I went to school and twenty years later when my son went to school (and now he is a teacher who teaches his students the same thing) we were both taught that if we came across the word we didn't understand to stop and look it up. That's not unique to Scientology that's just good teaching which exists all over the world.
I worked in schools in Aus & NZ and we got kids to pick up bits of rubbish on floor around desks (to make the cleaners job easier) so that it taught the kids self responsibility and a lot of kids have lists of chores to do at home and that’s not a bad thing as long as there is still room in their lives to be a child. Scientology took good practices to the extremes to suit COS benefits.
WHY DO SCHOOL KIDS HAVE TO PICK UP BITS OF RUBBISH ON THE FLOOR AROUND THE DESKS IF THEY ARE NOT THE ONES WHO DROPPED THAT RUBBISH AROUND THOSE DESKS? WAS THERE NO RUBBISH BIN 🗑 IN THOSE CLASSROOMS? DID YOU ALSO MAKE THEM ALL WASH 🧼 THEIR HANDS PROPERLY AFTER PICKING UP THAT RUBBISH? WHO THREW THAT RUBBISH ON THE FLOORS IN THE FIRST PLACE? I WENT TO CATHOLIC PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS AND I NEVER SAW ANY OF MY CLASSMATES THROWING FOOD OR SCRAPS OF PAPER OR ANYTHING ONTO OUR CLASSROOM FLOORS!!! AND WHY WOULD YOU MAKE KIDS DO THE CLEANERS WORK FOR FREE - IN ORDER TO MAKE THE PAID CLEANERS WORK EASIER FOR THE CLEANER WHO TOOK THAT JOB IN ORDER TO BE PAID FOR CLEANING EASIER?!!
This young lady is so refreshing with her honesty. I am wondering if she still has to CHEAKS herself to not be a people pleaser to people who dont deserve her efforts .
I grew up being raised by narcissistic mother. Hearing what it is like to be a child of Scientologist I dare to say my mother was a Scientologist not knowing such organisation even exists. To escspe from my mother's Cult- like household and to disconnect from her I had to move to another country. Now dealing with PTSD and seveer depression I am building my live back. My Heart goes to all children and adults who have to go through this nightmare ❤
My daughter raised my granddaughter to be a little adult. My belief is that a 4-year-old needs to spend an entire year learning to be four before he or she can transition to age 5. My daughter may as well be a Scientologist. I suppose that lifestyle or general behavior is inherent in different areas of society within certain people. That’s why certain people are drawn to cultish lifestyles.
I wasn't raised in scientology. I was raised by a narcissistic mother and I feel like I'm hearing the story of my childhood and the results I'm dealing with in adult life. Scientology is narcissistic abuse.
I appreciate hearing her experience because this is happening in all areas of life i had this experience as a child right into my adult life its just that i was smart and so it gave me a bit of leverage to get away from the situation and have a Life. People use religion to hurt others at times.
Andrew, may I compliment your appearance today. That shirt is fabulous with lots of colors. Is a nice change ❤ And something you touched on here. I would love to know more about the mother/father instinct and how that absolutely does vary, depending on the generation you are from, the culture and of course the environment you are living in. That's my suggestion for a new podcast topic.😊
Brave lady. Absolute wild when you listen to the stories. When you come from a normalish back ground and i first heard about these types of cults i couldn't believe they existed pre- internet days. When i first started my regular travels to London i couldn't believe they existed in our country ! I took a pic of one of the buildings and they wouldn't take they're eyes off me, i just smiled and hoped they never approached me. They have people in all businesses, they've taken someone down off RU-vid. Followed them in black blacked out SUV's in Tampa and other areas in America. Plaguing this person with emails, phone calls and stalking. This is why you have to be careful. They'll know everything about you Andrew but probably don't see you as a threat. They'll keep tabs though.
It is not just 'brainwashing' it is the lack of attuned parenting and a secure attachment relationship from conception - and the impact this experience has on the body (nervous system) and the poor attention/ability to down-regulate/feel positive narcissism etc. It is missing out on all the good things a human needs PLUS the abuse. Complex developmental trauma,
