I got into Stanford for graduate school, and earned my degree (M.A., Political Science). When I read about these super achiever kids who did everything right and got rejected, I wonder what stars and planets aligned for me.
I literally just got through watching a College Decisions video by a girl whose dream school was Stanford, rejected, and she was super sad verge of tears and video cuts out ....I was curious , and clicked on her stats reveal video...She was basically 5.0, 12 APs w 5555555s down the line , 1580 SAT, top 3% , one of the most exclusive private school...She was President of Model Nations, Honors Soc, Sholastics award , won Nat this and that, Interned at Microsoft and Oracle, Ballat dancer, accomplished pianist .... Then it hit me, her profile essentially screamed I did all this for you STANFORD PICK ME!!!!!
Isn't it sad when someone does all of that and dedicates their whole life to try to get into their dream school just to get rejected? And even worse to know that some people got accepted when they have a less perfect "student profile" and more unique personality or different type of accomplishment that these schools are looking for...
These schools will accept a bunch of pricks but don’t take a hard worker with a low gpa, maybe they come from a low income family and can’t afford to buy 200$ text books for every class
The rejection is honestly a gift at this moment. Go work hard in undergrad, enjoy learning including taking fun courses or double major with a degree of your passion and a degree in something practical. Find a position with a solid company that offers continuing ed benefits because they love having students that are funded. That’s when you can get a graduate degree from Stanford that’s paid for by your employer including books. If one can emerge educated with a passion for lifelong learning, way less debt, and a good job in a career that’s uniquely yours.
Best thing to do, kids, is not to go to college. Take it from me, I have 3 college degrees, and I wish that I had never gone to college. Waste of time and money, and lost out on real-world experience.
@@ericonion3561He realized, he's a fool. That's going to hurt people the most when they're discovered it. College fool people man. You can end up being homeless in college very high today. Once you know, you are an fool then you get around with it and fixed yourself
